  1. I will Kelson. I'll give that a try on the next one. Thanks. Later-
  2. Thanks Joe. Later-
  3. David, Thanks. Yeah, I am starting to believe that this is more the natural color of the paint and that extra coats gives it a richer color. So far, all of the "Foil" work has been done with Molotow pens. I am planning to do a bit of actual foil work around the windshield and window frames after I finish the chassis work. Perhaps on Friday or Saturday night when it is quiet. Then I will hit it with another light coat of clear to seal it down. Got to spend some time looking for a nice Saddle Tan paint to start the interior. Later-
  4. Krass- Thanks for the input. Not sure if it is bleeding through or not. Perhaps the more coats the darker it gets. I know when I sprayed the first two coats it wasn't as dark. But after the third it really popped. Either way, I think it looks nice. The only other color that I have used in this line has been the Root Beer for a 68 Firebird. Later-
  5. Thank you very much guys for the nice comments. This has been a fun build so far and I am very happy with the color. I spent lunch time yesterday painting chassis and suspension parts. Still have some touch ups to do but should be able to begin assembly today. The paint was bought many years ago at a local store that deals in hunting and fishing gear and has a huge toy section with a large selection of mainline (Revell mostly) models and paints. I bought it when this Testors line came out. All the LHS we're charging $5 and this place was $2.98. Because of that, I bought most of my paint there. It sat in my unheated garage for years until it started leaking at the bottom. I wasn't sure this can was going to work but it gave me a full can worth and sprayed great. I still have a few cans of various colors left. Later-
  6. Thanks guys for the encouragement. I took a couple pics just now to show the difference between the actual paint color and the body with the orange plastic bleeding through the primer and paint. Kind of glad it did. Makes for an interesting color. http:// http:// Working on the chassis and suspension today. Later-
  7. I began this one recently and am having a blast with it. The kit was molded in orange, so I decided to paint it in a color that if the orange bled through it wouldn't matter much. So, I painted it in Testors Inca Gold. http:// http:// http:// Today I got the final coats of clear on it. Now to let it sit for a while and get the chassis and interior done. Going to do a Saddle Tan interior. Later-
  8. How is this project coming along? I just painted mine yesterday. Did it in Testors Inca Gold. I figured that, with that shade, even after priming if the orange bled through it wouldn't be the end of the world. Looking forward to seeing your progress. I'll be posting mine soon. Later-

Wow! That is beautifully done. For such a simple kit it looks amazing. Nice work, Tom. Thanks for sharing. Later-
  10. Ooohh! That paint looks purdy! Nice work so far. I've had in mind to build one that I have a picture of saved. Looking forward to your progress. Later-
  11. Great to hear. I'll have to find those. Later-
  12. Thanks guys. Means alot. Later-
  13. I like it. Looks good. That TS 94 looks like what I need for my 55 Chevy pickup. So , is the AK Xtreme metals a spray like Testors metalizers? Can't wait to see the final paint job.
  14. Thanks Doc! Didn't hurt a bit. It actually ended up for the better. Now to get back on to my other projects. Later-
  15. Thanks. Only about 30-40 more! Later-
  16. That is some fine work. Looks just like the drawing. Great job. Later-
  17. Very nice build. Great idea and execution. Cool. Later-
  18. You've got a lot of nice ideas. I like your style of chopping and pasting. I enjoy doing the same. Later-
  19. Thanks very much. The paint was just plain old DuPont gray primer with a gloss coat sprayed on to be able to apply the decals without them silvering. Once the decals we're applied I covered the body with a couple of coats of DulCote to get a semi-gloss look. The wheels were some red aluminum 23 inch sleeves that a buddy gave me. (He used to work for Pegasus and designed a lot of their stuff. He also gave me 3 purple and 3 blue- he hasn't been able to find the 4th of them). I put the sleeves on Pegasus rims. Later-
  20. This, like a lot of builds, started with the wheels for the inspiration. As soon as I saw them I thought of a modern Hot Wheels Redline tire. This is one of my few builds that actually turned out just as I had it pictured in my mind. I got most of it completed and started in on the BMF. Halfway through I didn't like the results and so it sat for a few years. When I read Dr Kerry's Amnesty build idea I thought that it needs to be finished. So, I made new BMF to install. With that hurdle over I could move on. So, here it is http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// The interior is a mix of kit parts and 2010 Camaro wheel and seats. Hope you enjoy and I'm glad it is finally off my bench and on the shelf. Thanks Dr Kerry. Later-
  21. Finished! I'll drive it over to "Under Glass" in a bit. Thanks for the kick Doc!! Later- http:// http:// http://
  22. I'm goin', I'm goin'! Lol. Getting that BMF done was the big hurdle for me. Now that that is over there is no stopping me. Later-
  23. Wow! All nice builds, but that glass on the 57 wagon looks real. How did you accomplish that? Later-
