Picked these three up today from a local guy for $20. The Mustang was sealed when I got it. That didn't last long. All three are complete. http:// Later-

That looks amazing Ben. Great work with the airbrush for not having used it much. It's going to be a winner. Later-

Tire size question
Modlbldr replied to Modlbldr's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thanks for the help guys. Great info. Later- -
I'm building a Revell 66 Impala and want to do some changes to the tires and wheels. Looking to use the 5 spoke wheels from the Revell 32 3 window. I want to change the tires to represent a "day two" build of someone who would have wanted a bit more meat for a mean street look. I would prefer the tires be all the same size or maybe a small bit of rake. They should be, preferably, period correct. Looking for what kits may have a suitable set. Any ideas? I was thinking of the tires from the Revell 66 Penske Vette but not sure how period correct they would be?? Later-

Murphy was right!
Modlbldr replied to Oldcarfan27's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Amen! I've had this problem occur many times. Never can get two identical parts to look alike. Later- -

If you have two identical parts to glue on (ie. mirrors), the first goes on smoothly but the second one will fight you to the death every time!!! Later- -

The magazine article was actually a two part series in two issues of Scale Auto Enthusiast-Dec 1999 and Jan 2000. Lots of detail. Later-

Thanks. It's been a fun one. And thanks for the reply. Later- -
Got a new set of hood decals from Vmach (thank you, Sir) and got the hood stripped and repainted. Ordered some wire for doing the engine work and have been pouring over the reference to figure out all of the wiring. Been detail painting parts for the engine bay. Down to the slow stuff. Stay tuned for more photos. Later-

'70 Mustang Mach 1/ Boss 302 (8/27 Foiling)

Good to see that you're back on this one. I have one of these kits that I am building too on here using the magazine article by Tom Boyd from SAE Dec 99 and Jan 2000. Great reference. Here is a link to my build. Do you happen to have the 302 valve covers that you are not using? I need them for my build. Looking forward to seeing more of your build. Later- -
Thanks Leslie, but I have a couple already. I appreciate the offer. Later-

Nice looking old build Chris. Looks like I do have the hubcaps but not the dash or wheel you have. I also have the 50 Convertible chassis, which is much better. http:// http:// Later-

Picked up this 51 Ford rebuilder for dirt cheap (to me, anyway) the other day and just got it in the mail yesterday. I've never seen a 51 before so I am excited to have it. Other than a top, it is complete. http:// http:// http:// Later-

Just as I was getting ready to call it quits and head to bed for the night I got an idea to use the border from the Mach 1 tail panel decal to make the missing decal for the tail light surround of the Boss. Here is the start. Once this dries I will add a couple of small pieces to extend the decal farther down alongside the taillights. http:// Later-

Well, tonight I jumped in and did the decals for the body. Just as I thought, I was not looking forward to the hood decal. It got screwed up so I will probably have to sand off the center stripe and paint it semigloss black. All of the rest turned out decent enough. http:// http:// http:// http:// Later-

Thanks Fellas. Looking forward to getting the decals placed. Not looking forward to doing it.....just looking forward to getting g it done. Later-

Lol. Knew I could tempt you somehow to cough up those LeMans parts. Seriously though, I will not be getting rid of the DeSoto. I've wanted this one for quite a while. Thanks for the interior shots and the info on Resin Realm. I'll be contacting them soon to see what it would take to get an interior and dash. Later-

I may have a grille for that? Not sure if that is what it goes to but looks as though it may. Message me, if you want. http:// Later-

http:// Got my 56 DeSoto in today! I am very happy. Yes the body needs a bit of cleanup but I wasn't aware that it came with two sets of grilles and bumpers, 5 sets of taillights and three sets of door handles! Customizing parts for other builds. Now to figure out an interior bucket that will work. Later-

Thanks Dave. Oh yes. Just search anything you are interested in (auto, military, sealed kits, parts) with auction in the search term. Easy enough. Later-

I won this last night on a FB auction. Been wanting one for years since I saw one in the video below but didn't know who made one. Just found it by chance. $23 plus shipping. I'm happy so far. Can't wait to get it into my hot little hands and see what it looks like. Curious to find out who cast it. 56 DeSoto Convertible http:// http:// http:// Later-
