  1. Thanks guys, but not going with the flames. Just using them as a test. Going to go with some pinstripes. I may use more than I planned for though. Later-
  2. Well, I think this color will work and it is just clear enough to allow the pinstripe decals to show through. http:// http:// Now to get the Copper coat on nice and smooth. Later-
  3. Very nice builds, each one. Love the color choice on the Plymouth though. Later-
  4. Very nice work on all of those! Later-
  5. I have tried to edit this three times and got an error each time, so I will just reply to my post. Some of the mods are a 48 Ford dash, Plastruct piping for the seats, lowered suspension, 36 Ford fender skirts and the engine from the Revell 32 Ford 3 window, to name a few. Later-
  6. I have determined that 2019 will be my year to finish a few stalled projects (that's not to say that I won't start just as many) that have been needing to get finished. My goal is, at least, three. I am not counting the Tweedy Pie build that I almost finished by December 31. That one should be finished by the end of this weekend. With that said, I am bringing this one back to the bench. I chopped the top and converted it to a hardtop a couple.of years ago and sprayed a coat of Copper on it. Afterwards I realized that I forgot to shave the hinges from the doors. I shaved them and then my Modeler's ADD kicked in. Here is where it sits today. http:// http:// http:// http:// My plans are to spray a coat of Testors Red Metallic over the Copper for a nice, deep red. I have some pinstripe decals for the hood and trunk that I want to put under the red for a ghost effect (hopefully) I have a spoon painted in the Copper that I have applied a decal to. Tomorrow morning I will hit it with some of the red to see the effect. If it doesn't work than I will just apply the pinstripes over the red. I have a Caddy dual snorkle air cleaner that I will possibly use for the carb. We will see where this goes. I hope to have this one done by the end of January, at the latest. Later-
  7. Very nice builds! Clean work on them. Are those Olson Bros. fender skirts on the Foose Caddy? Later-
  8. I'm not thinking about passing away soon( I know, most of us aren't ) but I was thinking about this issue of "what would happen if" recently. In my case, I am the building maintenance guy for City Hall and I have a large shop. About 90% of my stash and supplies are at work. I can't imagine the level of difficulty it will be for my wife, boss and co-workers to clear it all out. There will be more than a few trips involved. Unfortunately it is such a SWEET setup for me that I can't pass it up! Later-
  9. This is amazing work that you are doing. I'm not trying to knock your work in any way but, your side coves don't look to be as big as the rendering. Was this done on purpose? Later-
  10. Thank you all. It's very encouraging. Later-
  11. Love it. I never thought of doing one as a delivery. Great idea. I've got a few of these that, after painting all of the wood on one, have been sitting because I dread doing all of the wood detailing again. May have to give this idea a try on one. Thanks for sharing. Later-
  12. Wow! Built 30 years ago and looks like the style would fit right in at a car show today. Just goes to show that some styles are timeless. Congrats on the discovery and that it was still in such great shape. Don't change a thing. I love it. I still have to get me a couple of these to build. Later-
  13. Beautiful work that you are doing. I love the look of the digital rendering and your work looks spot on! Nice and clean too! I love the fact that you are using what works from other kits. It proves the idea of never throwing out anything model-wise. You never know when it could contain the right piece or the right shape. I'll be watching this one. Later-
  14. Steve, that looks great! Nice work on it. Well, I have been bested tonight. I am calling it quits before I botch something up. I wired the distributor and now it hits the firewall. Tomorrow I will pull the wires up that I glued down to the top of the tranny and run them from the sides of the cap rather than the back. That should give me the room. All that's left is to assemble the grille and radiator, install headlights, install a coil on the firewall, mount the cab to the frame, install the windshield and do a bit of touch up painting. It sounds like more than it really is. Here is where it stands for 2018..... http:// http:// http:// http:// Thanks for following along. Sure wanted to get this done tonight. Good night all. Later-
  15. Getting there. 7:20 PM. http:// http:// http:// Later-
  16. So, here is where I am at tonight. It is 6 PM. I think if I put the hammer down that I can get this finished by Midnight. http:// Here we go! Later-
  17. I have around 300 (just a guess) and I tell myself that I need to slow down on the buying. With that said, I just bought 6 more yesterday. The good thing is I am finishing builds at a faster rate lately. I should be able to finish the one I'm currently working on tonight! Later-
  18. Thanks guys. Later-
  19. It's been quite a while since I've been on eBay but just got on the other day. I'm not sure how detailed of instructions you need but I start with looking under "Categories" then "Toys and Hobbies" then "Models and Kits" then "Automotive". There should be a place to Filter your selections. They have areas like "Ending Soon" and "Less than $15". I found these under the Ending soon. There had only been one other bidder but I had to increase my bid three times. I don't like sniping (Not against it, per se, I just try not to unless it is something I absolutely need.). My winning bid was in for four hours before it ended, so I don't feel guilty. Later-
  20. Thanks a lot guys. It means a lot to me. I've been building for years and just recently started pushing myself with new techniques. I've gotten a lot of good advice from ones here, on the net and a few close local friends. These three turned out just as I imagined them in my head. My wife used to give me a lot of grief about my hobby and that took a lot of the joy out of it for me. She has only within the last couple of years shown true support for it and the joy of creating is back. These three builds are some of my more stock type of builds. I have many custom creations started but not many finished. I need to focus more on them in 2019. Later-
  21. I love the work that you did on this one. I need to pick one of these up. Later-
  22. Thanks guys. I enjoyed all three builds. I can't say which is my favorite. Later-
  23. All beautiful and impressive builds there Pete! Love the nail polish job on the 63 Vette and the work on the 50 Ford. I've been using more nail polish on my builds too. I love the wide assortment of colors and most are pretty cheap compared to using rattle cans these days. Keep up the good work! Later-
  24. Very nice builds, indeed! Your 66 Impala looks like the one I built and posted here in my year end review. Love that kit. Later-
  25. I can never remember which one's I have finished within the year but I'm certain I finished these three. I think there were a couple more. I DO have a few teetering on the brink of completion and if it weren't for my Modeler's ADD I would have gotten a few of them finished. Anywho, here are the three that I'm certain about. 69 Corvette http:// http:// http:// 2014 Mustang custom http:// http:// http:// http:// 1966 Impala SS396 http:// http:// http:// http:// I really had a lot of fun this year with my builds and I look forward to completing many more next year.
