"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!

Update on "Starlet". Got the chassis up on wheels and the glass and sunvisors into the body. http:// http:// The air cleaner I got a while back from crazyjim. Thanks! Later- -
Making some progress on this lately. Got the engine completed and installed. No wiring. Nothing special. http:// Also finished up the interior. I had to glue the 48 Ford dash in 4 times to get it to sit right and hopefully not hit the windshield. The fit of the interior into the body is tight so everything has to be perfect. I also glued the sunvisors in this morning. http:// Lastly, I have the rolling chassis completed and the body is polished. Now to get it all together. http:// http:// Later-

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!

Thanks David. I am eager to get this one done. The earliest photo I have for "Starlet" is August 2017 although I know I started it long before then. It is definitely not my oldest stalled build (that would be my 69 Super Camaro I started in 1990) but it is the closest to being finished and the one that I am hot to get done. Later- -
One of my favorite Cadillac body styles. You did a fantastic job on it! When I was 16 my uncle had a 1:1of this in white. He told me that he would sell it to me. My dad put the squash on my dreams....also on the 68 GTO I wanted to buy. Man, would I love to go back in time. Later-

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
Modlbldr replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
I'm in. I personally declared 2019 as my year to finish at least three, if not more, of my projects. I have been focusing on my 40 Ford "Starlet" (been filling in the down time with my new project 58 Corvette). http:// The body is polished, interior is complete, chassis and engine are about half done. I should be able to finish this by the end of Jan. Afterwards I'll figure out which other to finish. Perhaps my 53 Ford custom or my 65 Mustang. Later- -
Got a bit of work done last night. Progress has been slow on this and my 40 Ford "Starlet" but moving forward. http:// http:// http:// I am debating whether to just build this as a stock build and not change the wheels and engine. Nothing wrong with a stick 58 Corvette. I may just get it done to get it on the shelf. Later-

Z-man wheels contact

George, PM Sent. Later- -
Thanks fellas! I'm liking this a lot. Today I started painting and assembling the chassis. Tomorrow I will be polishing the body and perhaps painting the spokes on my wheels. I'm debating whether to put a more modern Corvette engine or just upgrade the stock motor with a few "go fast" goodies since I am upgrading the wheels/tires and the steering wheel. Later-

Not much progress on this one today. Got the body taped off and painted the front part of the coves and got some decals applied. I'm loving the paint combination on this. http:// Later-

Z-man wheels contact
Modlbldr replied to Modlbldr's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Thank you all for the information. Unfortunately I don't do Facebook anymore. I hope he gets well soon. I will try the email address you sent Mine. If nothing else, I'll go with the wheels I have or find a useable diecast/toy to take the wheels from. Later- -
Getting excited about this one. http:// http:// Later-

I am looking for a contact for Z-man wheels other than FB. I dumped my FB account last month and don't want to have to go through all of that in order to get some wheels from him. Anybody know of another available contact? Later-

Got another coat of clear on the body and I'll let it dry a couple of days. Here are the wheels I have. Not sure I like them. If I use these I will definitely paint the spokes. http:// http:// I'd love to find a contact other than FB for Zman wheels. Anybody? Got some work done on the interior. Flocked the floor and detailed the shifter base. The parts are just sitting in place. Nothing is glued yet. http:// http:// Enjoy. Later-

Got the final clear coat on this morning. Now to let it dry a couple of days and wetsand with the 8000 and 1200, then polish it up. I touched up the nicks and dings on the chassis and engine. http:// Now to work on the 58 Corvette for a couple of days. Later-

Amazing work on this one. Someone mentioned following the paint please. I missed it. Do you have a link to that? Later-

Nice work so far. I love how this kit builds up. How about the top half of the dash body color and the bottom in the pearl white? It might tie the two together. Later-

Nice work so far. I've never seen anyone else with this kit, let alone, building it. I bought this kit when new and used the interior, engine and chassis as the basis for my 53 Studebaker custom. It is a nice kit. Any plans on the color? Later-
