  1. I like the looks and color of that 68. I know what you mean. I picked all of these up, along with a huge box of the parts to go along with them real cheap recently. Many parts still on the sprues. Waiting in the wings to get rebuilt. http:// Later-
  2. Just won these off of eBay at $7.65 each, shipped. Not a bad price for each of them. http:// Later-
  3. This is turning out to be one amazing build. Love the color. Later-
  4. I'm loving the work you're doing on this. It is looking great although it sounds like it is fighting you a bit. I have one of these to build pretty soon. Thanks for all the info. Later-
  5. Made a bit of progress today. Got the beginning of the interior painting done. I still need to clean up the lines and flock the carpet. Also started assembling the engine. It is just sitting in place for now. http:// http:// http:// Later-
  6. Thanks guys for the vote of confidence. I got the interior and engine primed today and glued the completed dash in. I picked up a bottle of Tamiya flat white tonight to spray the whitewalls on the rear tires tomorrow. I'm looking forward to finishing this one. Not much left. Later-
  7. That was my wife's thought too. I'm leaning heavily toward those. Going to get back on this tonight and see if I can finish up the chassis work. Later-
  8. That Judge sounds like a great idea! Later-
  9. I'm interested to see how you work this one out. I have one of the Jimmy Flintstone 06 Firebird resin kits to build some day. I'm interested to see how close your plan comes to what that body looks like. Later-
  10. Thanks Jim. The pinstripes are from the kit. I didn't use all of them though. The dehydrator I use is an old one I got from a friend of mine. Can't remember the name of it. I have it at work. Here's the progress I have made tonight. I took the front axle from the Tony Nancy dragster, like the front wheels. I'm going with the rear tires from the TN kit and I'm going to paint whitewalls on them. I'm still debating which wheels to use. I have three choices. The Tweedy Pie steel wheels although widened a bit, the Tweedy Pie 5 spokes or the kidney beans from the Tony Nancy kit. http:// http:// http:// I'm leaning towards the 5 spokes. Comments? Later-
  11. The nail polish is thinned 1:1 with cheap laquer thinner. I shoot it through my dual action airbrush opened a little less than halfway at about 22 psi. I am not extremely savy with my airbrush yet. I've had it for years but, other than on occasion, only recently took to using it. Afterwards I put it in my food dehydrator for a bit. I don't know why I waited so long to get a dehydrator. It sure speeds the process up considerably. Later-
  12. I love what you are doing with this. I like the grille change and especially like the modifications to the wheels. I don't like the wheels in the Food kit for the car and I don't like the OOB Pegasus Apollos. Your modification with the rims is a definite improvement. I have a couple of sets of those that I may have to try a similar approach with. Can't wait to see what else you do with this build. Later-
  13. Here's the idea of what I'm going for.http:// Front tires and wheels I like. The rears are 1/20 70's van tires and wheels. Not sure about the size and style of wheel. I may want to find a tire similar to these but in 1/25 and a different wheel. Thoughts? Later-
  14. Working away on the chassis tonight.Making great progress. http:// http:// http:// With the body just sitting in place. http:// Moving on. Trying to figure out some nice tires and wheels. I would like to find some fat meats for the rear and I have some wire fronts from the Tony Nancy Double Dragster kit. Later-
  15. Lol! Thanks. I'll see what I can come up with. One of the guys at work said "Someone finally popped you in the mouth, eh?" Had to laugh. My boss asked if we needed to start using sign language and I told him unfortunately they didn't see my mouth shut. Back at the building project tomorrow. Later-
  16. Looking forward to seeing this one. I'll have to look for this kit too. I like it. Later-
  17. So here it is sitting with the body. Doesn't photograph very well. http:// http:// http:// That's it for today. Ended up in the emergency room with 7 stitches in my face below my lower lip. I was removing an automatic door closer at work and the arm hit me. Cut all the way through and even cut my gums. At least the x-rays show I didn't hurt my teeth. My own stupidity! Should have stuck to working on the model. http:// Later-
  18. Thanks for the heads up Styromaniac. Here is the results of the pearl. Not very dramatic but better than plain white. Can't wait to see it next to the body. http:// http:// Later-
  19. Got all (I hope) of the parts sprayed with the white this morning and they are now drying. http:// Here is the pearl nail polish I will be spraying over the white. It has just enough greenish tint in it to work well with the dark green instead of going plain ol gloss white. http:// http:// http:// I'll be spraying it in another hour or so. Can't wait to see how it will look. Later-
  20. Not at all. Plain ol laquer thinner 1:1. I bought some plain white nail polish this afternoon. My plan is to spray the frame, rear axle tubes, engine block and the fuel tank with it. Then I have some nail polish that looks like, what I would call mother of pearl. Has a slight greenish tint to it. I figured a light coat or two with that over the white should be just perfect for an accent color. Everything else will be chrome. More pics tomorrow. I would love to find some decals of pinstriping that are green for the fuel tank and dash. Later-
  21. Thanks fellas. Later-
  22. Been tinkering with this between projects and using it to test some paint in the airbrush. I started out spraying a light metallic green nail polish and using a part of a set of Lazy Modeler flames I sprayed in a slightly darker green. I then put the body in my dehydrator for a short while before pulling the stencils. BAD IDEA! The glue from the stencils separated from the frisket and became impossible to remove without removing paint. So, into the strip tank. I then sprayed it with the remainder of the light green and, not having enough paint to cover well, I sprayed over it with a darker metallic green nail polish. To my surprise it turned out to be a perfect shade of British Racing Green ( to me). http:// http:// http:// Unfortunately, I don't have any of the light green left to be able to replicate the shade for the frame and remainder of the parts. With that in mind, I think I will do the frame in either a Tamiya or Nail polish gloss white or a very fine flake silver. Leaning more towards the gloss white. This morning I hit it quickly with some Scratch X and polish and that's where this "fill in" project stands. I have a second kit of this that I am planning a purple and lavender paint scheme for. This build will give me a good idea of how the kit goes together. Later-
  23. I use the stuff all the time. Years ago, while living in Alaska, I found a new model shop one day. While looking at their Evergreen packages I noticed that they were priced awfully low. I bought around 10 packages of various sizes and shapes for a few dollars. I figured that they were having a grand opening sale. The young kid behind the counter had no idea. It wasn't until a few weeks later that it dawned on me that the prices were for each strip, not the entire pack. I had never seen a store selling them by the strip so it didn't pop into my head. Later-
  24. Yeah. I was excited. Got it for $30 shipped!! Later-
