That turned out beautiful Kelson. Love the color. Good to see it finally finished. Later-

Oooh, I like it! Nice work on the paint and decals. Later-

Thanks again Dann. I appreciate the vote of confidence. I got the final coat on it. It's going to have to be. I'm out of the paint I mixed. Lol http:// http:// http:// It doesn't look too bad. The color is light like I wanted, so that is good. Later-

Thanks Dann, The radiator is a piece that I cut down from a larger radiator from a diecast toy. I got a bit of paint on the body today. Here is the first coat. http:// http:// And then the second coat. http:// http:// The hood has a mark on the edge of the scoop. So, I am going to have to let it gas out over the weekend before I can fix it. I am working on gutting the interior and installing a roll bar and racing bits and pieces. Later-

70's Chevy and GMC pickup hood ID
Modlbldr replied to Modlbldr's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Mark, You are right. I don't know why when I was trying all of my parts and swapping stuff that I did not see that. I could have sworn that I tried them on my Blazer bodies and had myself convinced that they didn't work. Man, it sucks getting old!! Thanks for the help and holding my hand through the process. I feel so ashamed! Later- -
I have several different Chevy and GMC pickups from 67-72 that I bought in a lot of built ups a year ago. I have the 71 racer's wedge, a couple of the 71 or 72 Chevy Cheyennes , the 72 Fleetside, the 71 Cheyenne longbed stepside and the 71 GMC stepside. So, while looking for a hood to send to Scott8950, I found two hoods that are a bit shorter than the others. I have nothing that these two hoods fit but was wondering what kits they go to. Here are a couple of photos for ID purposes. The black one on the left works for everything that I have. The two that are short are like the silver one on the right. The width is fine but they are a hair short. http:// Again, short one on the right. It has a cut out for a hole. http:// Can anyone tell me what kit it is for? Later-

David, Nice looking build. I believe I have a set of the wheels. If you're interested just cover the shipping and they are yours. Later-

So, what makes the ER34 different than the standard R34? Later-

Made a bit of progress on this over the last couple of days. I am adding to the front air dam and building a splitter on the rear. I used some photos of a real RX-7 from the net as a reference. Perhaps not totally accurate but close enough for me. http:// http:// http:// http:// http:// Also making an intercooler. http:// http:// I mixed up some custom pale gold paint using some gold nail polish and some of my leftover pearl white nail polish. Hopefully tomorrow I can prime and paint it. Thanks for looking. Later-

That looks nice! I think all your efforts to paint it turned out great. I still haven't mastered airbrushing acrylic craft paint. I haven't tried using reducer yet. Just washer fluid. What ratio did you use? I saw a black RR with large diameter 5 spokes driving around town a few days ago. Haven't seen it before but unfortunately it was headed in the other direction. Later-

It may take some work but you could completely sand or cut away the outermost ring that is damaged and replace it with the same sized ring removed from another parts box wheel. Almost like re-sleeving it. I think the idea of using BMF to protect the wheel from the tire is an idea worth trying. Later-

"Bring Out Your Dead" Completion Build--ROUND 2 Is On!
Modlbldr replied to Snake45's topic in WIP: Model Cars
All of the builds are looking great. Disco- I like the idea of swapping that paint scheme. I say go for it. (Now that I posted I see that you did. Looks great) I will be working on the Mustang a bit tomorrow with plans to really hit it this weekend and make some decent progress. Later- -
I got the body molding glued on today and started doing a bit of customizing on the body. I also mixed up some paint for it today. Been a bit of a busy week at work, so sorry. No pics today. Pics tomorrow. Later-

I had great trades with both of you guys and I look forward to doing it again soon! Thanks fellas! Later-

Did some painting of the wheel centers to match the coves. Also narrowed the fronts and used the piece removed to widen the rears. http:// Still need to sand a bit of the rear frame rails to get the rear wheels to tuck in a bit. Not looking too bad, in my opinion. http:// Later-

Nice work. I like how your Evo turned out too. What color of green did you use on the Eclipse? Later- -
Thanks espo. I got my wheels from Japan today. http:// I am planning to use the Kranze wheels with the Racing Hart tires. The Kranze set's tires don't have a tall enough sidewall. I will narrow the outer rim of the fronts for a staggered offset and I may paint the wheel spokes to match the cove on the body. http:// This is getting closer to my inspiration car. http:// Later-

Got my wheels for my 58 Corvette today from Japan. http:// Think I'll use the Kranze wheels with the tires from the Racing Hart set. http:// Later-

That is looking great Guy! Lots of inspiration here. Thanks. I may end up getting back on to my 65 Impala because of this. I had made a mistake in the pattern and rather than strip it I set it aside. Now I think I may be able to cover it with a darker color or another pattern to hide it. Thanks for posting your progress. Later-

Thanks guys! Snake, I haven't given up on the Mustang. Still plugging away at it. Later-

Working on this a bit tonight. Got the 06 Camaro engine in it to see how it fits and whether I want to go with it or not. I think that I may. http:// http:// http:// I have the 2010 Camaro SS engine to possibly put in it but I can't find the block, just the accessories. Anywho, this looks like it will fit pretty easily with just modifying the motor mounts a bit. Should look pretty good all detailed up. Sorry for the poor picture quality, but I am sitting at the dining room table tonight so I can listen to albums. Lighting is bad in here. Later-
