  1. Tks guys, I'll try & answer the questions. Erik, no not a high tech kit & I was too chicken to try & open it up for engine detail; Mike, it was beautiful to build, went together easily (and I'm not a white metal fan, which is what the chassis & suspension is); Len, stripes (and circles) are sprayed white, not decals; and last but not least Andrew, vinyl parts were good, easy to fit & look good. The stock decals are not very good & need to be replaced. Buy both VRM Daytona coupe sets, they are fantastic. Hardest part of the build was the wind deflectors beside the windcreen, they were buggers to get right. By the way Andrew, I have built Jim Hall's Grand Sport using HRM detail parts, modified the body and pan-caked the bonnet hump to more acurately reflect the 67 car. It's not perfect but it's a good representation of it. Also used VRM decals (I sound like an advert for them!!!). Might post it next week, trying to limit it to 1 post a week Tks again guys
  2. I've always wanted this kit & was lucky enough to be in a position to swap something for it.Built box stock with the exception of the stripes & roundels (painted) and using VRM decals. Tks for looking Dave B
  3. Tks for the kind words guys. By the way, the stripes were painted & the decals are Vintage Racing Miniatures. They're a beautiful decal.
  4. Restored this old girl for around the 3rd time. I'm finally happy with it after having been through the side skirts & wide BBS period (red of course). It is now a bit of a 'what if'. What if Ford had financed Shelby to build a winning Gp 4 car, being a Ford fan it would have been nice. Anyway, hope you enjoyed & tks for looking Dave B
  5. That is a nice build Kane. Generally don't build that 'style' but yours looks sharp
  6. Sorry Jon, I really don't remember as I mixed it. I was after the straight lime green that the Muira was available in but didn't like what I mixed so came up with this. I know it started as irridescent pearl white nail polish with a touch of green tint. No photo etched parts used at all, just the self adhesive chrome mylar that came in the kit Tks for the kind words guys
  7. Just a few pics of the Lambo Muira I built in 2010. Have thought about buying Hasegawa's Jota, but it just doesn't appeal like the SV, I think it is the wheels. Tks for looking Dave B
  8. Tks for the kind words folks, I appreciate it. PS, I do like the 'E', just don't have a good model of it!!
  9. I'm envious, beautiful!!! I could paint the flames, I just couldn't mask them like that, did I say BEAUTIFUL!!!
  10. Have always preferred this to the 'E' Type & when I saw a racing version at the local shop I couldn't resist. Did some homework & found they only built 2 in gold so thought I would build mine as a 'hot' road version, in gold. Just wish I had kept the old 1/24 convertible(James Bond)version I built years ago, think it may have been Airfix, I could now do it justice!!! Tks for looking Dave B

    Honda RA 272

Very nice build, it's a shame this sereis is not 1/24th!
  12. Always seem to have pick-up bodies spare so I dug a couple out a while ago, scratch built some chassis out of styrene and built these up. Two different themes, quite happy with the results. Tks for looking Dave B
  13. John, That is spectacular, the diorama's pretty good too!!!! Just kidding, awesome.
  14. That's a neat build, like Mitch I also built mine as a period ficticious SCCA type car
  15. Great build Brendan, I also have this kit plus #1075 to build, both as Gulf cars, hope they turn out as nice.
  16. My only comment would be to sand the 'treaded' portion of the tyres to: a - remove mould line; and b - make the tread look 'worn'. Overall a nice clean build
  17. Tks for the comments guys, I appreciate it. I had great fun building it & flaring the guards etc. all those years ago & still enjoy building Cobra's. Will post some more later. Tks again
  18. I built this around 25 years ago & it is still one of my favourite builds. I have just given it a 'sympathetic' restoration by polishing the ute and fitting Daytona Coupe wheels that I cast from my Gunze Sanyo kit. Also fitted home cast Goodyear Blue Streak tyres & flip type gas cap. Scratch built the car trailer also Hope you enjoy Tks for looking. Dave B

    32-3 Window

That is a really nice build, congrat's!!!
  20. Peter, that is an exceptional build, I love the headlight treatment, it reminds me more of a Ducati 916 than the Prowler however.
  21. Tks Guys. Bart, Tks for the correction as I wasn't 100% sure when I posted it. The boat was a separate release by AMT years back. Has been re-released a couple of times, I'm pretty sure I re-engined it some time back though with the cammer Dave B
  22. Hi guys, Just a couple of pics of my '56 T'Bird and drag boat. Bit too much glare to show the irridescent yellow but you can't win them all. Still learning my digital SLR Tks for looking Dave B

    '49 Merc
