  1. That's a great build of a very fiddly kit Rich. Congratulations on getting it to look so good. Dave B
  2. Great build Mark and great photography as well. Dave B
  3. Hi Andrew, yes the resin is very thin and I have a good range of diamond coated bits, I'll have to think about it. Yes it's 1/24 and I only downloaded it because I missed out on Paul's. Bought the book a few years back at the right price. Just one of three Chaparral books, not bad for a Ford guy 😂 Dave B
  4. I'm in a bit of a quandary at the moment. Because it's a resin print the fine details (mesh and air outlets in front guards) are almost nonexistent and after a couple of coats of undercoat they'll be gone. As it's resin it's a bit thin and fragile to cut the vents out. Have to think about this one for a while. Dave B
  5. Hi Helmut, yes I have, I've narrowed the pillars and altered the side windows. I've also managed to mess up the glass moulds so Phil has to reprint them. It's painted the colour it was when delivered to Australia and when I saw it race at Longford. Pity it's been restored incorrectly!! Dave B
  6. Tks Charlie, I'm sure yours will be a cut above!! I'm really glad I could help and I'm going to love watching yours come together. Dave B
  7. Looking good Charlie, glad to hear you're doing well. Dave B
  8. Yes, unfortunately, the Fisher's lived in Paradise, or not, especially when wild fires are raging. Dave B
  9. Helmut, you're a man of many talents!! I have all of Mike Quarterman's publications and never realised you were a contributor. A mate has this model unbuilt, and he never will, so I'm hoping to procure it one day. Looking forward to your build. Dave B
  10. Looks really good Ken, so what's next on the drawing board/CAD/printer. Dave B PS, you should market the file!
  11. No worries Charlie, I'm really glad I've been of help. Dave B
  12. Great work Marcel, to do the resin work yourself you're extremely talented. Dave B
  13. Tks Phil, that's an album and a half, I could spend the rest of my life looking at it! Dave B
  14. Coming along slowly, interior needs lengthening so that will be my next job. Three Chaparral books but this one gives the best detail reference photos for the 2E. Dave B
  15. PS, not sure what reference material you have but you need; March '64 Hot Rod; November '63 Sports Car Graphic; and November '63 Car & Driver, preferably in that order. Dave B
  16. Looking good Charlie. Don't forget the body has massive tuck under. My old Cox slot car body had a high oil content and I was able to stretch the body over the chassis frequently without breaking the window frame line on the body. Aluminium will be a bit harder to stretch!! Dave B
  17. Looks great Phil. A mate had a hot Cooper on racing rubber. Boy did we have fun in the dry!! Dave B
  18. I really like those Group 5 style racers an yours is starting to look the part Fabrizio. Dave B
  19. Looks tough Marty, tks for sharing. Dave B
  20. Hi Marty, they're from my parts box, wheels are probably early Ford ('40 may be) and tyres are Firestone. Yes, could squeeze a roll hoop under the headrest, just lazy!! Dave B
  21. Great build Helmut, you certainly did the old kit justice!! If I can get my Tamiya slot car body looking as good I'll be happy. Dave B
  22. Ok, I've finished my streamliner. Scratchbuilt frame under a somewhat modified Hawk/Testor Bonnie Buggy. Flat head and all other items from the parts box, except the scratchbuilt intake and exhaust. At least I finished it!!! Painted in auto acrylic, Triumph Powder Blue, and clear coated. Decals from the spares box. Tks for looking. Dave B
  23. Tks one and all for your comments, I really enjoyed building this. Dave B
