  1. Finally finished restoring the Stradale', been fun but I'm glad it's finished. Tks for looking. Dave B
  2. Almost finished. The fit isn't perfect but I have to remember it's a very old kit and a restoration to boot. I'm pretty happy with it, little more work and a few decals and it's onto the DB4 Zagato although I do have a 1/16th GT40 in dire need of restoring. Dave B
  3. Looks good Pat, this a really nice kit. Dave B
  4. This is a great kit Pat and yours is looking good. Dave B
  5. My repair by sinking a piece of spring steel into the plastic by means of a small soldering iron. I did it on a wet sponge to prevent the plastic from buckling. This the second piece, the first being in the centre. Dave B
  6. Tks Helmut, great clip. I hope to post a few more pics shortly but managed to break the thin edge of the body around the rear window this morning. I'm going to have to heat sink some thin spring steel into the plastic to prevent it breaking again. Already done it once on the centre section. Will try and blend paint, it was a bugger!! Dave B
  7. That's a great build Gerald. I have around 5 different Tamiya slot car bodies I bought just for this purpose but I seem to be building 3D printed models instead!! Dave B
  8. Ok, Phil had a few issues printing this for me. Although he sized all the pieces to the same % the the doors, bonnet and boot were to large. Also had great difficulty printing the doors as you can see. Anyway he resized the doors for me and reprinted. Although everything opens they are not going too. No details provided except a reasonable interior and I need something easy after the 33TT12. Dave B
  9. Now I've finished the 33TT12 I can restart the Stradale' restoration and DB4 Zagato. First coat of red. Will rub down and continue shortly. Dave B
  10. This is my take on chassis AR11512-010 as driven by Bell and Pescarolo to victory in the World Manufacturers Championship round at Spa in 1975. First of all I'd like to thank Phil once again for printing it for me. I've done a fair bit of work to achieve it's current state as all the engine detail printed was removed and replaced. Painted in auto acrylic and clear coated. Decals by Patto. Tks for looking Dave B
  11. Looks tough Rich, I do like the Lancia rally cars. Dave B
  12. Ah Matt, looking forward to this, always love your white metal builds. Dave B
  13. It's looking a bit like a big gocart now! Starting on the body while spot putty dries on the Stradale'. Dave B
  14. Ok, I've finished the chassis pan, interior and engine bay. It's not accurate but does more closely reflect the original prototype, down to the interior colour. While I continue restoring the body I'll start completing the 33TT12. Dave B
  15. Nice clean build Thomas, tks for sharing. Dave B
  16. Chris, what a phenomenal rendition of Fangio's race car. I've told a mate who has 3 MFH kits to build to follow your threads as they are always excellent. Who knows, one day he may actually build them!! Dave B
  17. Beautiful Ken, if I ever get around to building mine I hope it's half as nice. Dave B
  18. I actually wanted the MFH 1/24 kit, but for the $$$$ Lucky I was able to get a 3D printed one. Dave B
  19. After having replaced the vents in the rear deck I decided to see if I could find out why I had cut 3 vents in the rear guards. Turns out I couldn't. After checking the old Otaki box art I have no explanation for cutting the vents. Must have thought it was a good idea at the time!! Well I was young!! Anyway to reflect the actual prototype they are now being filled in. Dave B
  20. I've just restored the glass and found that, for some reason as a twenty something year old, I had sprayed the screen and side windows with Tamiya clear smoke. Anyway they have come up well, the 2 marks in the windscreen are covered by the wiper. Dave B
