  1. Hi Pierre, not a kit. I bought a 3D file a few years back but it turns out it was solid!! A mutual friend of my printer mate hollowed it out for us but made it so thin it printed full of holes in resin and not much better in filament. What you see is the filament body coated internal with epoxy and externally with body putty. Just had to have an A6GCS!! Dave B
  2. Hi Andrew, for the grill I shaped a thick piece of styrene slightly larger than the grill opening. I then wrapped 8amp fuse wire around it and soldered. I then added a central vertical bar from 8A wire and soldered. The remaining vertical bars are 15A wire and attached with permanent epoxy. When set I gently folded the grill across an Exacto blade to get it concave. The car was ordered as pictured by the owner and never raced down under. It was written off by it's second owner after competing in only five events. Dave B
  3. Ok, it's all a bit rough at the moment, painted black this morning, but here it is. It will depict a specific car and race, more to follow. Dave B
  4. Ok, some time ago I posted this as a project on the go. Well, it stalled until my mate could print me a grill, which it turns out he couldn't. I've ended up making the correct grill for the car I'm building from fuse wire so I'm back into it. More to follow shortly. PS, it will be no where near as good as Andrew's!! Dave B
  5. That's a great build Shawn, pretty sure I saw this very car racing at Longford in Tassie Dave B
  6. They're exceptional builds of what appears to be a very nice kit Doug. Tks for sharing. Dave B
  7. Looks the part Phil. Like you I'm a Cobra fan, if I have 1 must have 10. Dave B
  8. That's a great build Thomas. I like the fact its of a specification I've never heard of!! Tks for posting. Dave B
  9. Looks good Gary, they were a nice basic kit but I don't recall them having a driver? Dave B
  10. I hope Gary wouldn't mind my interpretation of his Miller Ford Indy kit. Dave B
  11. There's also an excellent DVD "Long Weekend at Longford". Well worth a look.
  12. Saw Clark race it in '65, I was 15, just lucky that dad was a motorsport tragic!! They do have a revival but I don't bother going as the track, as it was, no longer exists. There are a couple of good books on Longford.
  13. Before the net I just depended on model shops and magazines. No, no real shows or competitions down here but there are on the big island!! Saw the 32B race at Longford back in the day. Dave B
  14. PS, it appears that when entered at Sebring by the owner Donald McKnought the Borrani wires were painted white. The car was shared with William Eager and a minor crash on lap 67 forced them to retire. (Maserati A6GCS by Walter Baumer and Jean-Francois Blanchette) Regards Dave B
  15. Andrew, your build is going to be soooo much nicer than mine. I'm just happy to have something to work with. Dave B PS photos of 2053 attached
  16. Hi Philip, all is good over here, tks for asking. Summer time and modelling slows!! Still working on this, the A6GCS and I also have a 3D printed Ford C100 and P68 I'm playing with. Hope to finish this one soon and then the Maserati. Regards Dave B
  17. That's a nice clean build Gary, looks good. Dave B
  18. Chris, you need to Photoshop that into a pit scene, couldn't pick it from the real thing!! Dave B
  19. That's a very nice build Mike, tks for sharing. I don't see very many Profil 24 builds up on the forum. Dave B
  20. That's a very nice build, tks for posting. And yes, I would guess all us "old bloke's" have actually built more than one Heller kit, I still have my Martini version 917. Dave B
  21. Great build Phil, and I love the extra detailing. Tks for sharing. Dave B
  22. It just shows what a little patience can achieve starting with a horrible kit. Well done Pierre, given your starting point it's amazing. Dave B
  23. Great restorations Allan. Dave B
  24. That's a really nice build and thanks for explaining your upgrades, never too old to learn something new!! Dave B
