  7. Looks like a winner to me Helmut. Dave B
  8. Hi Rex. Yes I am but I also have an old Roo decal set, but with white Boss stripes and also a Fred Cady Trans Am set with black stripes. I'll have plenty of choice ? Dave B
  9. Hi Pierre, looks like an interesting build. I'm a bit late to the party but according to Paul Parker's book Jaguar at Le Man's Maurice Charles bought a new opalescent dark blue FHC. The engine was rebuilt use spare D type parts and the front discs were changed for the larger Mk IX. He then fitted alloy doors, tailgate and bonnet. Dave B
  10. This will be my tribute to the Moffat Mustang. As a Ford mad 19 year old this car made an immense impression on me when I first saw it. Chassis 9FO2M148624 was built by Kar Kraft and given to Moffat to race in Australia. It escaped from the US with it's 2" pie cut inner fender wells and is the only Kar Kraft Mustang to retain them. I've had this kit for years but only now feel confident to do the modifications required, particularly the inner guards. This has to be done to achieve the look, it's just so low at the nose compared to other Mustangs. I have started with a Super CJ kit and have cut the guards, removed the battery, replaced the inner fender and replaced part of the radiator cowl. I have also removed the transmission tunnel area in the interior. So far so good. I will build it as raced in 'Series Production' back in the '69/'70 so it shall retain the inner door panels and rear seat. Tks for looking. Dave B
  11. Great looking build Thom, really looks the part. Dave B
  12. Yes, new year's Day over here All the best mate Dave B
  13. That looks great Rich, they're a great kit and your build does it justice. Dave B
  14. This is my take on Garrie Cooper's Elfin ME5 sports racer built for Neil Allen and delivered in October 1969. It was powered by a Bartz modified 5.0 litre Chev. The car was later sold to Tasmanian Don Elliott and raced by both Robin Pare and Tony Edmondson. This is the livery that I remember best so it's the one I decided to replicate. It's not perfect but I am happy with the finished model considering I started with sheets of styrene. I'd like to thank my old mates Phil for the decals and Bruce for the period photos which were invaluable for some of the details. Finished in auto acrylics and clear coated. Tks for looking. Dave B
  15. That's a really nice clean build Tom, tks for sharing. Dave B
  16. Some of us are blessed with the ability to do this (you and Gerald Wingrove) and some of us aren't (me). This is just beautiful work. Dave B
  17. Magnificent Pierre, that is great modelling and, in my opinion, what the hobby is all about. I just wish you could teach me to brush Vallejo paint that well!! Thanks for sharing ? Dave B PS I'm persevering with brushing Vallejo Chrome on my Elfin ME5.
  18. It's Triumph Powder Blue, apparently it's the actual colour used.
  19. Hi Dennis, yes although the drawings are not what the real car was built from. They're very accurate and with period photos it's all I need. Had already made the wheels for my 400's so just needed to alter outer rim. Dave B
  20. That's a really cool build Tim, tks for posting. Dave B
  21. Masked off and ready to paint. Still a fair way off but this is the final post as a WIP. Dave B
  22. That brings back memories Bruce, I remember seeing it at Baskerville way back when!! Tks for sharing. Dave B
  23. Thanks guys. Rich, my fifth Fisher and great to build although the vacform windscreen wasn't pulled down properly on the drivers side, got away with it though. Tks Helmut, I new it was a cooler for something, I had a nice side on cutaway that showed it. Dave B
