That's a great build Terry, tks for sharing this unusual kit. Dave B -
Ok, now I have finished the Maserati 300S I had planned to restart on the Alfetta 159 however my friend Vlad has sent me a file for the '59 DBR1 so that has moved to the top of the list. My mate Phil has printed it and here it is. I am going to build it as the '59 Tourist Trophy winning car that was taken over by Moss, went on to win, and secured the Sports Car World Championship for Aston Martin. Wish me luck. Dave B

That's a great build Bruce. Modern racers don't do a lot for me but that looks really good. Thanks for sharing. Dave B -
I have finally completed my all time favourite front engined sports racer. For this I have to thank Vlad for the file and Phil for printing it for me. #3055 was a factory team car and was shipped to Australia by the factory to race at Albert Park in the 1956 Australian Tourist Trophy. Driven by Jean Behra it finished 2nd to Stirling Moss in the other Factory 300S #3059. It was then purchased by Doug Whiteford and during his 3 year custodianship it became the most successful sports racing car in Australia. I saw this car race multiple times at Longford race track in Tasmania and being aged 8, 9 and10 years old respectively it made a lasting impression on me!! The model represents the car a raced at Longford in 1959, the photo in the background of one of the shots shows Behra at Albert Park. Apart from the photo etched spokes (Herb Deeks), the bonnet/boot latches (Profil 24) and the tyres (urethane, tks Phil) all the other parts were either cast or vac formed by me. The car is finished in an auto acrylic mix and clear coated, decals are by Patto & Phil. The second image shows what I started with. Tks for looking Dave B

Great build Rich, I have always liked the look of this car but never got around to buying the kit, although a mate has one I could probably get. Dave B -
I have been busy with the 300S. I have the body about ready to paint and have modified my generic 50's sports car transmission tunnel and seats to more reflect the 300S. I still have a bit to do like the dashboard, etc buy I imagine the next time I post will be as a finished sports racer. Tks for looking Dave B

That looks really good, nice build Pierre. I have built Fujimi's 917 and personally I did not find the rear framework easy. Dave B -
It may not look it just yet but I have been very busy working on 3055, as opposed to my Alfetta 159! I have scribed the boot, door and boot lines, corrected the head rest, opened the openings in the boot for fuel & oil caps, added the four bonnet vents and the NACA style vent, finally had a go at making and installing the side vents and drilled the tiny holes for the photo etched bonnet and boot release clips. The side vents are not perfect but with a little more work will look OK. Have made the photo etch wires using Herb Deeks spokes and my own resin cast rims and urethane cast tyres. They look almost as good as those on the 450S although they are Hasegawa and superior. Tks for looking Dave B

That's a great kit from Indycals Thomas, it's a pity I'm building the 159, the supercharger is quite different. Dave B

Great looking build Rich, missed out on that one from Paul unfortunately!! Dave B -
I've started my 300S that my mate filament printed for me. As I want to build a specific car, Chassis 3055 that I saw race at Longford, I'm going to have to make quite a few mods, which I have started. Going to be a long road to get right. Tks for looking. Dave B

Coming along slowly as I have been slightly distracted, as you will see shortly. I am very happy with the body mods and wheels so I'll keep on moving along. Dave B
