  1. Hi Brian, They are in fact taken off a Monogram 904GTS wheel, the rears being widened with a band. The tyres are resins of the racing Dunlop's in the old IMC Ford GT kit Dave B
  2. Tks guys, at least 4 of the Arii kits are retools of the original L&S. I have both an L&S & Arii Chaparral 2C. The L&S has beautiful wheels/tyres, white metal webers & intakes, etc. Interior are identical though. If you find a L&S they are the one to buy iao Dave B
  3. Picked up an Arii Carrera 6 from HLJ a little while ago. Was a little disappointed with the kit but it gave me a reasonable base for a nice curbside. Biggest disappointment was the roof/glass cast as one piece, and thin/brittle to boot!! The wheels/tyres were rubbish and the interior basic. I was lucky to have some resin wheels/tyres that were passable and managed to cut down some seats and construct a passable racing interior. Had enough decals laying around to do a representation of the Targa Florio winning car, just minus the front & rear plates. Anyway, it was nice to be able to build a resonable model fo one of my favourite Porsches. Tks for looking Dave B
  4. Tks for the comments guys, appreciated. No it's just printable scenery glued flat onto mdf. The base is 'asphalt' & 'grass' and the background wall 'brick' Dave B
  5. A few more pics, sorry!!! Put to shame by some of the fully detailed coupes that are around, maybe I'll finish mine one day Dave B
  6. Love Cheetahs and was lucky enough to be given a Cox slot car body with a broken, and missing, roof. As I had a set of Fred Cady Cro-Sal decals what better than to build the only 'spyder' Cheetah. Pretty straight forward build as it is only a curbside, the most difficault part being finding enough period photo's to get the model to reasonably reflect the real thing. I'm sure no two scratch built Cro-Sal's are the same around the rear end!!! Anyway, thanks for looking. More pics to follow Dave B
  7. Beautiful build John, also fantastic close up photography, tks for sharing Dave B
  8. Tks guys, a couple of more pics Dave
  9. Great set, always wanted to do some myself. I like the 4 bbl in-line Autolite!! Tks Dave B
  10. Tks guys, was a slow build but then I'm a slow builder!!! Look forward to seeing your '66 Michael, this style should really suit it Dave
  11. Inspired by the Rod & Custom sketch below Tks for looking Dave
  12. Beautiful build Sait Dave

    Sunbeam Tiger

Tks for the comments guys, the pics probably don't do it justice. I'll learn to use my camera properly one day. Just answering the couple of questions it is AMT's 1/25 version. Regards Dave B
  16. I had this kit back in the earlier 60's when just a kid. Needless to say it's long gone. Never looked that good though!! Dave B
  17. It's the 3rd time lucky for this old girl. Originally built stock it was then modified to a big tyred street going sports car. Got sick of it again about 20 years ago and pulled it apart and left the bits in the cupboard. Got inspired after I started casting the Goodyear Sports Car Special tyres & Minilite wheels. It now resides with my other 60's sports racers. Tks for looking Dave B P.S. Not sure why I left the windscreen wipers on!!!
  18. Beautiful build but like Lownslow not mad on the silver it's a bit to metalflake for a period 250 Dave B

    chopped Merc

I enjoyed building a box stock 'custom' for a change & Revell/Monogram's '49 Merc is a great kit to build. Sprayed in an iridescent orange nail polish the paintwork did not come out quite as 'deep' as I would have liked. I should have experimented with the base colour!! Tks for looking Dave B
  20. Tks for the comments guys. Paint process was auto undercoat, acrylic white with a light sand between finished coats then nail polish & Auto acrylic clear. Polished out after the clear. I don't spend much time sanding/polishing out. Regards Dave B
  21. Ok guys, I have cheated a little here. I like the look of the SC so have retained the side pipes, bonnet scoop, gas cap & quick lifts. In fact all I have done is removed the 427 & installed a Shelbyized 289 from a GT350 and fitted wire wheels. Sprayed in blackberry nail polish. It fits in nicely with my other 427's & AMT 289's. Tks for looking Dave B
  22. That's looking great, Looking forward to seeing it finished. I have this kit but intend to build it as one of the racing NART 275's. Regards Dave B
  23. I built this old girl over 30 years ago but still like it. It was built back in the days when you used material on interiors!! Now the material is rather dusty and will not clean properly even though it is in a glass showcase, sorry. Did a lot of mods mostly utilising custom parts from the AMT '57 Chev kit. Opened the doors & boot, lowered & channeled it, rounded the bonnet, boot & doors and split the front seat so they lay forward individually. Sprayed in nail polish, probably one of my very first attempts. Thanks for looking Dave B
  24. That is BEAUTIFUL. What a great job!!! Dave B

    Ferraris

Interesting builds in 1/32. They would look really good if the Ninco Ref #80706 32 spoke wire wheel from the classis series slot car was used along with the tyre ref #80503. See http://www.pendleslotracing.co.uk/ under 'spares' 'Ninco' Regards Dave B
