  1. Tks guys. Hi Bruce, These are 1/24 models manufactured by J.R.Reynolds (UK) back in the late 50's & early 60's. Dave B
  2. Tks guys Dave B
  3. Tks guys, appreciate the kind words. Dave B
  4. Hi again Cliff. That is a neat build of a difficult kit, I know having built one. Dave B
  5. They are great builds Cliff, I particularly like the little Cooper 500, I copied a mate's kit when he had it pulled apart for a rebuild (body, wheels & engine only) in resin and have yet to build it. Thanks for posting. Dave B
  6. Using a Revell kit I built this as the UDT Laystall RHD car (Chassis 3505 GT). I used a set of photo etched wire wheels from the parts box. I did purchase a RHD conversion from HRM at the asme time as I bought a Maserati 450S (yet to build) but it wasn't until I received the package that I realised the RHD conversion was for the Gunze Sanyo GTO and was not useable. So it was back to the drawing board and out with the X-Acto saw. Pretty happy with the outcome, decals by Patto. Tks for looking Dave B
  7. I was lucky to pick this up new around 35 years ago and did a basic build, no roundels or numbers, merit wheels, etc. As I collected a quantity of Herb Deeks photo etched wire wheels I decided to rebuild it as a look alike (wrong bodywork) of Stan Jones's (world Champion Alan Jones's dad) car which I saw race at Longford. Apart for the racing numbers, photo etched wire wheels and some basic interior pieces it is pretty much out of the box. Tks for looking Dave B
  8. This is the Aston I picked up at the same time as the Jag. Once again I fitted headlight buckets, vacformed headlight covers, basic interior with passenger seat (also in the D type which I forgot to mention), resin wire wheels & resin tyres. Both the D type & the Aston have vacformed screens I made as he originals were broken. Tks for looking Dave B
  9. Hi all, I picked this up along with aAston DB3S, Alfa 158 and 2 toy Lotus 15's (see previous post) about 2 years ago. I have just got around to rebuilding it with headlight buckets & vacformed headlight covers. I used a set of resin D type wheels from the Linberg D Tks for looking Dave B
  10. Nice build of a difficult kit Jeff, I know having built one 30 odd years ago myself Dave B
  11. That is really nice Dave B
  12. Karsten the Kraftsman!!! What more can I say Dave
  13. Great build Steve, hope mine comes out as well!!! Dave
  14. Tks guys, your kind words are appreciated Dave
  15. Couple of more pics [ My thanks to my lifetime mate Phil for the hours he spent drawing the Scuderia Veloce shield and producing the decals for me Ciao Dave
  16. I've finally finished my conversion of an old, pre-built, Heller P4 coupe into the 350 CanAm as run by David McKay's Scuderia Veloce down here in Aus. It's a fair representation of the car as I saw it raced at Longford back in March '68, not perfect as I haven't included the spare wheel vertically attached to the tail!! and a few other minor errors, but aesthetically I like it. The real car started life as a P4 spyder, chassis #058 67 but was converted for the CAn Am series into the 350. It was procured by Scuderia veloce and raced with some success down here before racing in South Africa by Paul Hawkins, as Team Gunston. It has just this year been converted back to a P4 spyder, no prizes for guessing what the unbuilt Union P4 is going to be converted into!!! Couple of more pics to follow, thanks for looking Dave
  17. That was a good pick up Randy, it looks great Dave B
  18. Have done a little more work on this one. It's not dead accurate but is a reasonable likeness of the 350 as raced by Scuderia Veloce in Australia, complete with headlights but minus the spare wheel which was attached vertically to the rear above the exhaust pipes. I have yet to complete under the 'bonnet' and the interior. It's painted white to allow me to see the faults. Tks for looking. Dave B
  19. This is looking really interesting, have built the Gunze coupe but shirked at the thought of attempting the transporter!! Dave
  20. Tks guys, will update as works progresses Dave
  21. Many years ago, when a young tacker, I built a Heller P4 Ferrari. It was sprayed in a dark red (maroon) and I even cut the bottom off the front tyres to get it to sit right. Luckily I matured, found a Union re-release, yet to be built, and confined the old Heller to the dark cupboard. As I have started a collection of Ozzie Group 7 style sports cars I decided to rebuild the old P4 into the 350 Can-Am as raced by Scuderia Veloce here in Australia. I was lucky enough to see this car race at Longford in, if I recall correctly, 1967, so armed with the Motor Racing Replica News article and web photo's I have started. First task was to copy the Union tyres and cast them in resin. Next I cut the rear, shortened it and using plenty of styrene formed the rear engine cover. I used a Patto's vacform as a basis for the snorkels and also cast a mould for the windscreen. I have started on the nose area and this is where I am at the moment. I have yet to instal the headlights and then need to consider the interior. The finished item is probably still a few months off as I am also building a pair of Elfin 400's. Tks for looking Dave
  22. Nice build Jason, congrats!! Dave
  23. That's a different livery Karsten, I like it Dave
  24. That is spectacular, nicely done. Do agree about the screen however Dave
