  1. Built this one many years ago using the plans in MRRN. I used 0.010", 0.025", 0.040" styrene & 0.040" aluminium sheet. Decals are by Fred Cady. I have recently bought a Fisher Model & Pattern Chaparral 2F so I copied a set of fronts for the 2J. These have now replaced the Cox Chaparral 2 rear slot car wheels I previously used. Dash board is a little crowded but I'm loathe to pull it apart now, think I will have to live with it. Tks for looking Dave B
  2. Nice build Steve, nice to see one built well. As as a basic kit they're a great starting point and with a little research build into a nice model. Dave B
  3. Nice build of an awkward kit Cliff Dave B
  4. NIce build Chris, congrat's Dave B
  5. Reminescent of one B Jane's Jag. Nice build Shawn Dave B
  6. Beautiful job Chris, would like that in 1/24. Could always try & convert a SMER GP car I guess! Dave B

    1/24 Birdcage

Beautiful job Chris, thanks for posting. By sheer coincidence I looked at this kit on Brianza'a website last week, just a little expensive for me though. Tks again Dave B
  8. He's a very lucky boy to have you as a step dad, nice one Chris Dave B
  9. Another pair of nice builds Walter. I don't think Jim ever got over being booed, it still gets a mention from time to time. Not very Aussie, just too many drunk Holden & Ford fans at the start finish line!!! Pretty ordinary display. I'm Ford by the way Dave B
  10. Neat build Walter, saw that run at Baskerville & Symmons. Dave B
  11. Tks for the comments guys, appreciated. I backcast the body of a 'scale' Lancer vacform slotcar body that was issued back in the late 60,s-70's. I then lengthened it in front of the rear wheels to correct the wheelbase. The wheels are based on the Indy Lotus car but I modifiied them. The whole car is a combination of bits I either modified and moulded & cast or scratchbuilt. The interior is aluminium sheet & styrene. It's only a curbside, not that keen to scratchbuild the Repco & complete rear end!! I pulled a couple of more bodies out of the mould for myself (to build myself the Buick V8 original version) & a mate over here but it is now split, it was only a slush mould anyway not a two piece. As for the colour I'm sorry but it is home mixed, a similar colour would be Zircon Green, used on the '68 XT Falcon's over here. It's 1/24 scale Hope this has answered everyone's comments Tks Ed, I'll have to look up why it wasn't sent the following year, I thought it was going to be illegal but could be wrong. I was aware that it was a 'anything goes' series so should have checked first. Have heaps of info I need to go through, will send you a PM. Tks guys Dave b
  12. Tks for looking Dave B
  13. Frank Matich took his Repco V8 powered Matich SR3 to the States to try his luck against the 'big boys'. It handled well but unfortunately was underpowered. His plan to return the following year with the new SR4 powered by a 5L Repco 740 quad cam V8 was thwarted when the car wasn't completed in time. The following year the Repco power plant was not legal in the States. Needless to say he cleaned up 'down under' with both cars, Chris Amon/Bill Brown offering a little competition with the recently acquired Scuderia Veloce Ferrari 350 CanAm (complete with headlights and spare tyre hung on the rear!!) and the local Elfins, etc. More pics to follow Dave B
  14. Eric, spectacular build Dave B
  15. TRiffic job Clifford, nice to see some one else likes the old sidescreen TR's. Love the photo etched wires on the 3, must look out for a set for my 3A I have yet to build Dave B

  18. Tks guys, appreciate the kind words. Ray, I know it is an irridescent yellow nail polish, probably over white. Built a long time ago, can't be any more accurate than that, sorry. Dave B
  19. Just a couple of pics of an old build, sorry if I got the year wrong, hence the ? mark!! Tks for looking Dave B

Nice build & paint David, have you perchance built Fujimi's '68/69 Le Mans winner yet? Would like to see that if you have Dave B

  22. Nice Paul Dave B
  23. Hi Harry, Both the wall/concrete base and the asphalt is printed on paper and mounted direct onto MDF. It's a real 'cheater' diaroma!! It is available from http://www.cgtextures.com Regards Dave B
  24. Thanks guys, appreciate the comments. You had a close look Ed!!! I found a couple of mistakes after assembly and the 65 on the rear is wrong, the 5 should be lower than the 6. Looks OK in the cabinet though, thanks again. Dave B
