  1. Many years ago, when a young tacker, I built a Heller P4 Ferrari. It was sprayed in a dark red (maroon) and I even cut the bottom off the front tyres to get it to sit right. Luckily I matured, found a Union re-release, yet to be built, and confined the old Heller to the dark cupboard. As I have started a collection of Ozzie Group 7 style sports cars I decided to rebuild the old P4 into the 350 Can-Am as raced by Scuderia Veloce here in Australia. I was lucky enough to see this car race at Longford in, if I recall correctly, 1967, so armed with the Motor Racing Replica News article and web photo's I have started. First task was to copy the Union tyres and cast them in resin. Next I cut the rear, shortened it and using plenty of styrene formed the rear engine cover. I used a Patto's vacform as a basis for the snorkels and also cast a mould for the windscreen. I have started on the nose area and this is where I am at the moment. I have yet to instal the headlights and then need to consider the interior. The finished item is probably still a few months off as I am also building a pair of Elfin 400's. Tks for looking Dave
  2. Nice build Jason, congrats!! Dave
  3. That's a different livery Karsten, I like it Dave
  4. That is spectacular, nicely done. Do agree about the screen however Dave
  5. Converting a Heller P4 to the Scuderia Veloce 350 spyder!! I will get the plans off you however and thanks for the Elfin decals!!! Dave
  6. Tks guys, comments appreciated. The Frank Matich ran the SR3R in about 5 Can Am races, the Elfin you wouldn't have seen over there Dave B
  7. I have always been a fan of the 'big banger' sports cars and decided to have a go at scratch building some Aussie icon cars. I previously built the Matich SR3R and have just finished the Elfin Traco Olds, as raced by Neil Allen prior to installation of a Chev V8. It is based on a slush cast of an Elfin 400 mould I have. It's a curbside only and all parts are resin or scratchbuilt. Just a pic of the Matich & Elfin together. Time now to start Bob Jane's Elfin 400 Repco. Thanks for looking Dave B

  16. I built this one years ago but have not seen any Aussie Sierra's of late. RHD conversion & the correct resin wheels. Decals are courtesy of Roo Decal, not sure if they are still available or the resin conversion pieces for that matter. Thanks for looking Dave B
  17. Tks for the comments guys, appreciated. Hi Patrick, I have 3 more of Paul's kits, as I'm retiring tomorrow I may get a little more building time, wife permitting!!! Andy, I have thought of dry brushing the # on, I think that is the way I'll have to go. Skip, Just a curbside. You could open it up but the casting is fairly thick and would take considerable time. Ciao Dave
  18. Have just finished this one off. It's from Paul at Fisher Pattern & Model. Have yet to work out the most effective way of putting the race # on the mesh/grille. Only problem I had was not placing the oil cooler far enough over on the passenger side thus not allowing me to fit scratch made leather bonnet straps Tks for looking Dave B
  19. Tim, It's all been said mate, beautiful builds Dave B
  20. That's a nice build Steve, I have one in my to do cupboard. Did you use the decal for the orange stripe? If you did you got it to lay well over the NACA duct!! Dave
