Who says this is over engineered..? The great thing about your building is that you practice what you preach. You've said more than once "if you have or find a problem go back & fix it." So it dosen't matter how many bolt heads ya have, they need to look right or it's all for nothing. Well done Scott & I like the looks of your top steering & the extended knuckles as well, don't think you have much choice there. Still it's looking more like a streamliner every day..! PS- I tried some Scale Motorsports interior deecals (plaid) & liked it. They worked well the very first time..! This IS NOT a commercial endorsement & your results may vary..! Just covering my butt ! A fine for not bringing a model to a meeting..? WOW Dave, That would be concidered extreme around here, more like unheard of..! No wounder all you guys & gals build so well up there..! Good luck with that one, Hizoot

Looks like a fun project Gary, But isn't that kit kinda rare..? I'm sure you'll do a great job with it but this is the best I can find for now without bustin da bank..! I got this by chance the end of last year after the Cactus Classic & it needs obvious restoration. Tossed some Pegasus "T's" on there for motivation but hasn't helped. Maybe I'll get some inspiration from your build..! Hizoot

That's going to look sharp when complete..! I like this, it's original without getting carried away like I did with mine. Hizoot

Yes nice job guys, But my vote is for this one..! Hizoot

Gary, No doubt about it..! You can still dress to impress...! Hizoot

Well, I do feel his pain but Scott's gotten cozy with the death saw before... You mess with the bull & you'll get the horn ! Stop on by & plug that blade into my 110 volt Dremel, that will cure your tooth fettish ! Thank gawd for clean brakes (no pun there) but the throtle cable was looking great right up till then my friend..! Last but not least, Scott's been telling me "he has no money right now" but that's not true as his giant dime could last all year..! Good luck Scott, Hizoot

Welcome back Roy, Good to hear from you again, as for the hot rod I like the roadster which normanlly is not my thing. But if you want the top then a slight chop will work fine. You've already started the custom treatment so finish what you start..! As for roadsters, check out my Willys serveral posts below if you have time. It has tons of body mods & you may find an idea or 2 in there... Hizoot

Didn't know you cared how I looked Dave, But hey, I appreciate your humor & speaking of humor & colors. I didn't mention I've mixed 2 kustom kolors with HOK lacquers & since I creatated them, I get to name them & so I did. The 1st being Pink Champagne pearl, as a base coat; The pink is there, I just need more light on the subject. The 2nd being Hot Cinner Pearl as the top coat for part of this anyway. While it's true I enjoy most contest, I'm just concerned with making one bad A$$ Willys roadster right now. I'll let fate determine it's final destiny. Hizoot

It's been awhile since I shared anything or even posted here but I thought I'd brake my silence for now. The Willys looks like it was attacked by a 14 yr. old's slumber party..! Don't let the lipstick look fool ya as it's just the smoothing process at work. I want to attach a photo etched grill to this so the shapes need to match. The rest of the body is complete & to think it only took 6 months ! I don't recall what photos I've shown but here's an older pic of my custom engine, a Revell block. modified heads & headers, with an AMT street tranny stiched to it, sorry if this is a repete... I'm pleased with this & have gathered what seems like a boat load of parts for this, each one demanding more time & attention but what's new there..? Hizoot

What defines Pro Touring?

If it involves stitches & medical tape, I like it already... ..! Hizoot : -

Been there, done that..! Sorry but wrong lineage, the best you can hope for doing that is a rusty Audi...LOL..! Hizoot -

I have one of those Hot Wheels & like it..! Didn't know that Ed was responcible for the design either. If you cast them up, keep us posted as I may have an interest myself... Hizoot -
What defines Pro Touring?
Hizoot replied to Scott Colmer's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
From the Zoot's dictionary, A pro touring car evolved from pro street but with the idea that these cars should be more streetable & comfortable over long disatances..! Soooooo what's on your mind now..? Does it include ribs & lots of tinney bolt heads??? Hizoot -
Chrysler Airflow wanted!
Hizoot replied to Harry P.'s topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Yes, Franklin Mint did one, a beauty in die cast... I think Jimmy Flinstone cast some kinda resin concocktion in his unique style. Hizoot -
WOW I like it Dave, And I'm a bit jealous as I was going to start something simular before I got called away into Willys LaLa land (again)..! Hope to get mine going someday soon. This looks like a good project for you & will look killer with some looong radious arms. I know you'll have some help up there if you need it so we'll expect good things to come from this..! Hizoot

WHAT, NO BUGATTI...........? Sorry couldn't help myself, Hizoot

Looks like Dave's been a Bugatti bad boy..? That's ok as I've already violated a Studebaker..! Hizoot

What happened to the 29 boat tail..? Don't tell me it stalled, that thing rocks get down on it bud..! PS - What's that black & blue street rod ??? in the back ground..? Hizoot

Wow Dave, While the color scheme isn't my 1st choice, it is a bold choice..! I've seen serveral of these chevy blends as of late, even saw a 1:1 57 to 58 to 59 for sale on ebay. I must say, this is as nice as any of the others I've seen, great design & I luv the modern interior. You keep raising the bar..! Hizoot

Dave... you big tease...LOL..! Hizoot

WOW, Now THAT looks gone & forgotten..! Remember, life is sweeeter when you drive a beater. Hizoot

With the final major body mod done, it's time to make another of my custom engines..! I must admit, it's been kind of fun doing these wild childs. I did a custom nitro burning V-16 hemi awhile back & told myself that would be IT..! Wrong, this time I don't want the hemi, so I took a block out of my parts box. At first I thought it was a Revell top fuel dragster block but it had a Lenco type trans on it; In any case, the Lenco got the ax & an AMT street trans found a new home. Next was those all important HUGE Brodex wedge heads from a Revell pro street kit. They have been cut down just a tad to fit the block but can still fill up ANY engine bay. No whimpy mills here, this custom job needs to have a wild induction system & I have one planned; Not the best angle to photo it from but it's a start & I'm pleased with the end result; I have a new (better) camera planned in the near future & will take close up photos soon as I complete my twin screw blower drive. The new mill fits like a glove & I've extended the front fenders down to drill out exhuast ports just in front of the rear fenders; That's all for now, Hizoot
