  1. What ELSE are we supposed to do while glue and paint are drying????
  2. I've used white Elmer's glue over chrome headlights to give them a better look.
  3. Great work on this one!
  4. This one looks real good .. of course! But, I'm wondering, what do all the neighbors say when they see that crazy guy laying on the ground taking pictures of his toy cars?
  5. Good to see this back .. and it looks fantastic!
  6. That is brilliant! it looks right there too!
  7. The mirrors are all stuck together with location pins that will also give a handhold for polishing and chrome application. The plastic arms were replaced with aluminum tube of the same diameter. Looking at the 1:1 I probably should have used some smaller brass rod but these will have to do. I'm planning on trying out some Kosutte-Ginsan over a silver base to chrome them up. Talk about In Your Face .. ehhe larger than life picture.
  8. wow . National Rust Day! Have a good one Dr.
  9. Very cool .. looks great!
  10. I may have missed the start of this, but I'll be tuning in from now on. What you're doing here, mixing and matching 3 (and more) different models is how all this we do got started back with the first AMT 3 in 1 kits. The Double "T" kit got me started doing this back in the 60's when it was new. I like how that deep channel on the Coupe body looks.
  11. or, Rust in Pieces .. Nice job on the dio
  12. This is awesome having access to be able to make these masks yourself. But the real success is your design of the flames themselves ... they fit the car to a Tee!
  13. I'm liking how that box looks down low ... and that grill wash has totally made it pop!
  14. Good eye! I did start denting the body up and yes the damage will be modeled a close as I can get it. You should see the hood dots to locate where each salt chunk will go.
  15. That stands very nice. I like your using found materials ... that's my idea of building! The wood rack looks great .. that's some thin wood!
  16. Yeah .. I know the quality will be tops and I know they'll come eventually. I hope my comments aren't taken wrong.
  17. That's a nice looking body ... and a very good looking casting. Looking forward to seeing it progress.
  18. a quick update ... I've been worrying about the tires and stance as my order from Ma's Resin for the correct tires has been in for about 5 months and I have no idea when they are coming. I expected at least 3 months but five is getting to be a bit long. Hopefully whatever is slowing this up clears up soon. I managed to find some tires that are close to the same diameter so I hacked something together to see how it would sit ... at least on it's side. gonna need some suspension adjustments. I'm surprised the A-Team van is jacked up so much. Here's the model and a good shot of the 1:1 for stance. There's an awful lot of the undercarriage showing and I was careful to get all the stops in place. I don't think it will go up any more in the back, but gonna have to check carefully.
  19. This almost feels like a completion! ... the DOORS ARE HUNG! I still had a few battles with the carpet monster, but got the last bit of glue of hinges to the body this morning and it FEELS GOOD! Now I wonder how long before the glue breaks loose ... I'm going to weld the body hinges with epoxy for security. All the epoxy I've added will look ok as welding or rust in the end and at least it will make ME feel better. I've been working on many other little pieces between hinge moments, but nothing ready for photos yet. YAY!
  20. Those are great groupings AND prices.
  21. This is very interesting. Your presentation is very clear and well illustrated. I had a few parts I've made the molds for (squish cast RTV silicone for logos and door handles) and have only some old resin to cast them. This sounds like a good thing to try this material on and I have some in the mail coming.
  22. Oh my! I love that engine ... all those ribs on it and such. I was afraid of the Olds piece for awhile, but now with the photos .. it's PERFECT! .. Olds was always a dice roll ..
  23. This does sound like fun, but, I can't even get the box open in only 24 hours!
  24. I've never seen this kit, but first thought from the title "Corvair Powered Trike" .. why would you do that? Now after seeing it, that engine looks really good . and balanced .. there! Good looking build ... thanks for enlightening me.
  25. Thanks, Art, for that info. We don't have any Hobby Lobby's in this neck of the woods so I've never been in one. I just assumed, with "Hobby" in the name ...
