  1. That's a good start .. looks like the way the factory might have gone. And don't feel guilty about changing plastic ... it's what the Gods intended when they invented oil!!
  2. A timely post! My daughter's cat is visiting for the week as she left our 3 feet of snow to go skiing in rainy Colorado. The cat has been behaving but I build in the basement and she's been down once ... just for a mouse check. She was eying my bench and would need careful attention to keep her off. Probably been good I'm in denial and haven't been down there much. You all with cats should know better ... cats can only jump as high as they care to .. but NO limit!
  3. Some really nice touches there, as mentioned. It all looks great!
  4. Hmmm NE ... what town, if I may ask. I don't live there anymore but I went to college in Angola MANY years ago. I'm a New Englander thru and thru but I really enjoyed my time in Indiana. Made Indy 2 for years including qualifying. I can only say, it was a good thing I love corn!
  5. I really want to see these, but I won't be subscribing to youtube. I actually did try, but they are too lame for me. I'll just keep in tune and check here and there. The video's load very slow (trying to watch the first) I get about a sentence before it stops to load more. It's nor downloading to my computer so I can watch it all at once. {I will erase it when done .. there are ways to make life bearable ] edit: I watched pleasantly at video speed and all is well. Don't dish your voice .. it sounds a little rusty to me so it fits.

    Gulf 917K #20

Looks grand! Is that black tape you used on the color split?
  7. Verrryyyy Interesting! (I can't do that German accent here.. ) Will be an interesting watch ..
  8. Now that the Cold War is over and I can talk, I think the one thing I did that always makes me feel good and somewhat special is serving my country as a caretaker of the Pershing Missile in the late 60's. This was a 100 kiloton (more or less) nuclear missile that was 34' long and 3' diameter. It was/is the largest weapon the US Army ever had. It had two solid rocket fuel engines that put the nosecone out of the atmosphere for a reentry on the target. Thankfully a live round was never fired before they were all destroyed peacefully. I did have to hug those warheads when we bolted them all together. I had a Secret Final clearance and was never allowed to say much about what I did, although the fact I was in a Pershing unit was an allowable statement. It does feel good to say almost anything now that they are all gone.

    70 celica

That came out looking fantastic. I especially like the job on the fender flare gaskets.
  10. Open it, fondle the parts and BUILD IT!
  11. Those limo guys go nothing on streeeetttch ..
  12. Another creative and great looking paint job coming here.. I really like those wheels with it too!
  13. Just to insert somewhere you may soon be able to get a set of 8-lug standard wheels, Ryan Silva was close to finishing a set he has been working on. He is a member here and casts very nice wheels which he sells on ebay. He put some photos of the wheels in my GMC van build as they are exactly what I need for this build. The wheels are pictured about the middle of this page. I don't have any other info on price and when they will be available, so hopefully Ryan will see this and update the info. I don't mean to steal your thunder, Benjamin .. we can use all the 8-lug wheels we can get. All of your proposed wheels look good!
  14. I like that interior color you mixed up .. something I'd have expected from Porsche.
  15. Fusion sounds like a product I won't be trying.. and it says for plastics! Hope I can find the semi-black I use for everything. At least I know what to avoid when I go looking again.
  16. I can hear that thing rattle!
  17. Somehow I missed the start of this build, and what a build it is! Fantastic work and it feels like it going on in a 1:1 shop!

    Rust IS a color!

I really like those designs, they look MADE for a tee shirt! Not overdone, just right. Here's the link for our internet challenged members .. (YOU know who you are) Rat Hole Customs
  19. I'm with you guys. There's room for many boards for everyone to get their modeling fix. I visit SA too but I don't like their corporate control there. That pop up every time I go telling me to subscribe (I am a subscriber) probably keeps me away more than anything! It's just the principal if it. For whatever reason (I KNOW the reason .. the people here) I just enjoy going through ALL the new messages here and adding my 2 cents. But, there's room for all and to each his own. No bashing is necessary ... people will gravitate to what they like best anyway.
  20. Yup .. Avast. That solves that one!
  21. Three and he wants to build already!! Awesome!
  22. It could be my Malware software and not Firefox that is preventing the site from loading. And with that stuff, you never know what's setting it off.
