I didn't wast my time while the board was done and the bean bag chair is done. I had two choices to fill it with ... some small stones and a bag of beads ... the beads won out.
The ends were sewn on as they should have been. Mr. T volunteered to test it out .. this IS an A-Team Van after all!
Meanwhile, I may have progress to report on the hinges very soon!
The first day of the new year and I'm ... SEWING! The bean bag chair is in the bag, so to speak I first used some 3M Spray Mount on the paper patterns and stuck them to the suede (inside) surface of the leather. A light coat worked well and the paper came right off with no residue on the suede after cutting the pieces out.
I just used a regular (in my sewing terms) stitch to sew the length of each side to one another from the inside.
It was thin leather but still offered resistance to the needle so I pushed the needle through against a pile of paper with a thimble to get penetration ... and I didn't stick my finger once! Yes, I was in the Army and I CAN sew. Five of the six sides are together in these photos. More when It's done..
Ah, that's an idea, Dano. Come to think of it, I spilled a container of those small beads on the basement floor from my daughter's stash and haven't cleaned the mess up yet! Maybe my wife has an excuse to badger me to pick it up now.
Just to prove I'm back on the hinges and progressing. These are all plastic and hopefully the plastic to plastic joints will survive. This image has all the hinges pieces glued and curing along with another engine shot with headers in place.
Now, I got another surprise when reviewing progress with my daughter over the holidays. What I thought were plastic garbage bags in the van photos were actually black bean bag chairs! So it was off to the net to locate some bean bag chair patterns and a pair of old leather gloves pulled out of service!
This should prove interesting getting it all to stick together. I'm considering just sewing the pieces together and filling with some sand so it keeps shape. I could probably find some Styrofoam small enough but I think the scale will be too small for the foam to hold shape. Gluing the pieces (6 sides and circles top and bottom) would be too fragile and may make the leather too stiff along the seams.
Nice atmosphere ... I like the lighting.
I think it's been almost 10 years since I've done much with Poser. I don't think I have anything I can post here, though ...
ya .. who cares that the plumbing isn't perfect.. it looks fantastic! Too bad it doesn't have a hinged front clip to show it all off.
I'm curious what you used for the blue connectors on the turbo plumbing .. I have one in the works that was getting the same treatment.
Buying more than one of ANY kit has never entered my mind. There are way too many kits I'd like to spend my money on. And, money is not an issue for me ... it's more just seeing whats inside that OTHER box that drives it. There are a few instances where I've bough more than one of a kit, buts that after I did something to destroy the one I had .. like spraying lacquer on a bare body!
2 and a half days! You all are all trying to make me feel bad! The left rear wheel looks like one of my year and a half builds .. !
This looks fantastic not matter how fast!
