Could be, but in kit form all that would amount to would be different fender badges. An F-250 version of this kit which was completely the same as this F-350 with nothing more than different badges would seem a little like a rip-off. But they could do a 250 with different wheels, different mirrors, or a different trim level to make it worth getting. That wouldn't have been a bad idea- produce this kit as an F-250, then add the needed dually parts land offer a separate F-350 dually, not unlike what Monogram did with their '91 250/350 kits. Not trying to poke holes in your theory, just thinking out loud.

Nice! I had a welding truck project in the works, based on that iffy Testors/Masito '99 F-350 Super Duty kit, but after seeing your project, I think I'm gonna keep that one in mothballs and just sit back, relax and enjoy watching yours come together. -

A 1:24 aircraft kit would be pretty pricey for a parts donor, but I can't deny I can think of more than a few earthbound uses for such a powerplant. -
Good point! Either way... I'll be broke the next, well.... year or so, going by what's to be released. Anybody have a basement where I could crash for, say, the next 20 to 25 years?

This one completely came out of left field for me, but I'm totally pumped about it! I'm also liking the idea of a Veyron in kit form.

I'm thinking the same thing- in fact I'm sort of curious as to why they'd do the SRW version first. Oh well. All they'd need to do is provide the proper bed sides, different wheels, two more tires, and cab clearance lights. Sounds doable enough... if they sell enough of these. I'm gonna try to do my part.

I'm thinking the Moebius kit will hit the market first, and be quite a bit more *ahem* affordable. Even if this kit comes first, I doubt I won't buy a half hundred of the Bumpsides, too.

Not really. The IH wheels are six-spoke, and IH had a center cab/hub design all their own. I'm pretty sure the C-series wheels would be way too big, but I'm not totally sure. I suppose they could be used as a starting point depending on how much work you wanted to do.

When this kit is out, DO NOT be shocked if I end up buying about fifty of them. I'm dead serious. I can think of at least that many different ways to build this thing. I've long thought that if a new kit of a current (or in this case, at least relatively current, this being an '08-'10 model) pickup truck were produced in full-detail form, it would be a Ford Super Duty. Cannot even begin to convey how stoked I am to see that someone is even considering such an animal! I hate to say it, but this one stole just a little bit of thunder from the news of the Moebius Bumpsides for me... not much, but still just a little bit.

Orange is proving to be a very popular color for this kit. Can't complain there. Love the color keyed wheels, too. -
Yeah- in the Falcon I'm building (with the pro street Nova chassis) I had to use stock exhaust manifolds because none of the headers I had in the stash would fit the ports AND clear the suspension.

I've used the '50 F-1 Flattie engine in this kit (well, the chopped '49 Coupe anyway), and getting it to fit was no big deal. I used the ARDUN heads and three-carb intake, though, so I can't say how well it work as a stock-only application! I don't even think I had to mess around much with getting the headers to match up with the Merc exhaust.

Very nice. And indeed- you could get a factory Ford stake bed platform, the one on this truck is the same style used from 1932 well into the 1970's with few changes.

Nice! Makes me want to get going on my own "powered" Wrangler now, except I'll be using an MPC Pacer six with a resin copy of the Tamiya wrangler valve cover, and a few modified and scratchbuilt parts to update it to 2001-2006 specs. -
See? A bit more informative than just saying stuff's wrong with it and leaving it at that. I'm just a little shocked you homed in on that (even though you're 100% correct on that being a flaw)- I can't see past that sort-of unravelled braided upper hose. That model pictured isn't what you'd call the best example of the breed, quality wise, but in all factory-stockers always were Danbury's strongest suit. Though they still screwed up the grille on the '70 Mustang worse than Monogram ever dreamed...

No choice but to keep it up now. Quick shot of how it looks now- Still need to paint the window trim and door handles. I also stripped off the factory orange paint on the headlight lenses, and redid the turn signals in Tamiya Clear Orange. -
Thinking I'll scratch that with some clear styrene, and some solid plastic mounting brackets, using the decal as a pattern to make the clear board. That's the plan anyway.
