MPC kit that's been lowered, fitted with 454SS wheels and newer Firestone tires, and painted in Testors Mythical Maroon and Diamond Dust. It also has seats from the 454SS, a tonneau cover from the phantom dually kit, and a 5.3 LS engine from a Revell 99 Silverado. This kit fought me for whatever reason, despite the fact I've built essentially this same kit numerous times. ? I also wanted to use up the last old can of Mythical Maroon I had laying around. Unfortunately it didn't hang around long enough to coat the hood. So the hood is Tamiya Mica Red. In person it doesn't even come close to a match but in the photos it looks presentable. ?

NO LOWBALLERS I KNOW WHAT I GOT ? -
This was the last kit I bought from Dean's Hobby Stop before he closed up. That fact sort of inspired the project. It's the 1990 annual kit with the sliding rear window, gauge cluster, Silverado badges and tailgate banner from the current monster truck reissue. I used a rear bumper from the 1992 curbside kit because it has better step detail than the 1990 version. I also used printed Firestone tires just because I had a few too many sets kicking around. The bumper stickers and bow ties are from a couple Gofer sheets, and Dean Sills was made from cutting letters out of a generic blue police car lettering sheet.

Nice! I don't think that old Monogram kit has ever looked so good. -

I don't see the need for that. Anyone want to weigh in on including a list? -
I actually had the thought while building this of doing a Kenmeri Skyline in that style. Like "what if Mad Max were a Japanese movie".

This might be a box stock Aoshima kit. (I may or may not have borrowed the wheels from another kit.) Paint is Tamiya Park Green distressed with Acrylic Vallejo paint. Note the rust on non-ferrous surfaces like the flares and spoilers. I was going for a kind of classic JDM tuner meets post apocalypse look.

I think you're obligated now. I want the completed model on my desk on the eleventyfifth no later than 4 o'clock. -
Box stock Academy kit that's a pleasure to build. Don't know why I slept on this kit for so long. Since the kit includes different mirrors and bumpers, I "mismatched" those to indicate collision damage repaired with salvage parts. The primed fender missing it's side marker lamp emphasizes it. Otherwise it's scummed up with Tamiya and Vallejo paints.

Didn't even know this was coming back out. But it has a modified Pontiac OHC inline six for power so I might drag this (or at least the engine) into the project. -

T Bird wires look pretty good on it. You probably already noticed but the fit of that grille panel is a little sketchy. -
Box stock Tamiya kit. I bought it as a started kit from a buddy, some subassemblies taken care of, and the body was painted pink with Vallejo acrylics. I kept the pink but distressed it (with some of my own Vallejo acrylics) just for kicks. It was a quick, fun project and served as a "dry run" for another GT-R project I have in mind. The few in progress pics I took can be seen in "The Straight Six Community Build Rides Again" thread in the Community Builds section.

Might have the Skyline wrapped up later today. Then I'll be switching back to the Plymouth for a bit. -

Got a little done on the '53 F100 tonight Just a shot of the Lightning engine and tenth gen radiator in place. The grille is a '56, swiped from a Revell Foose pickup. Last week I got some second hand kits, among them was a bunch of 1:35 scale diorama stuff, including some birds. One of those birds was sprayed silver and used as a hood ornament.

Since many of the subassemblies were already done, I can focus on paint. Basic chassis is more or less finished. -

Last week I bought a bunch of kits from a buddy who had lost interest. One of them was a Tamiya Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R Hardtop. Assembly had been started and it wore a shade of matte pink paint. I decided to distress it with some Vallejo paints and washes. Being straight six powered, might as well drag it into the melee here.
