  1. You'll need to do a bit more cleanup than, say, a Modelhaus piece, but they're very good quality, especially for the price.
  2. Hmmm... so this is where those extra engines came from...
  3. If anybody could pull off a glossy rat rod, it would be Jim.
  4. Just snapped a couple of some older trucks today. Here is a '57 Ford T 700 And here's a '63 IH Loadstar 1600
  5. I've seen the hoods opened on these for NASCAR conversions, but never a stock version. Should be feasible if you can find a suitable chassis, though. Very nice- toss on some Rally wheels and a few dings and dents, and it would look like the '76 version my uncle used to drive back in the late '80's.
  6. I don't think it's a '37 pickup with a car grille- looks to me like a '37 car cut down into a pickup. Which to me, makes it even cooler.
  7. Dave Grohl is a dead ringer for Dave Grohl...
  8. Judging from the grille, it is a 1959 or 1960 model. The 1958 would have had a cross-hatch or 'egg crate' pattern grille, while the '59 and '60 Super Duty trucks had the horizontal bar motif the truck in the picture has. The '60 pickups, panels, and non-SD trucks had a revised grille, but the heavy F and T series trucks used a carryover '59 grille. Then again, the truck's finish indicates it may have been repainted a time or two, and it could be a '58 model fitted with a later grille. The hood emblems were similar for all three years.
  9. Of all busses Ron makes, none is an IH. That being said, one of his bus bodies could be used with some modifications.
  10. From what I have heard, Revell was actually working on this kit before the Hobbico takeover, and shelved it for a few years. It was not until they caught wind of Moebius' plans to produce the Hudson and Chrysler that they took it out of mothballs.
  11. Oh! Oh! Oh! And while I'm covering the D-series thing...
  12. Yeah- this one has replacement bumpers from a standard Scout II. The originals were a little bit mangled.
  13. The Ford rig rod and the Finned Phaeton have been on/off projects for quite a while, but the Chevy was a bit more recent. This one is a '50 Ford cab on a modified Lil Mixer frame, and powered with an IH V800 turbodiesel. It was another one of my 'kill some spare parts' projects. This is a '29 Chevy Roadster, but it began life as an MPC Vampire Van. The frame is Z'd, it is powered by a 392 Chrysler Hemi, and the rear half of the body is a cut-down '57 Chevy 150. And the last one is the Finned Phaeton. The body was made from a Model A cowl and '57 Chrysler quarter panels. It is also powered by Chrysler- a '32 Imperial straight 8 in this case.
  14. Sweet! Know what would go well with these?
  15. Well, that one (and two other long-stalled projects) is finished! Keep an eye on Under Glass.
  16. Very nice!
  17. Clean work on that body seam- I'm not looking forward to that on mine.
  18. I'll probably use the '93 Ranger Splash (Flareside) kit, not sure about what engine to use at the moment. Probably a small block Ford from one of the Revell Deuce kits, or I might go nuts with a 385-series big block. I guess it depends on how far I want to go with chassis mods- that big block would require a bit of re-engineering to both ends of the chassis.
  19. There'd better be. The only criticism I have of this project so far is the lack of recent updates!
  20. Yeah- one thread makes a whole group look bad. Not that I care what the general public feels about what I choose to do as a hobby anyway. If they like it, fine. If not, I couldn't care less. And if they think less of me for gluing together little plastic cars, so be it. For all I know, they're hobby is torturing rats or something. Want 'internet drama'? Go to NASIOC sometime. It's basically the automotive-forum equivalent of 4chan. (And if you've never heard of 4chan, you are very lucky.)
  21. No, I meant missed like a long lost friend, not missed as in 'didn't see the thread'.
  22. Haven't touched this one since August of last year. Well, until today, that is.
