  1. Not to worry- the Matador will be out of project purgatory soon enough- the Hornet is almost done, and the apocalyptic Hummer is only inches away. Even then, I might dig out the Matador when I'm working on the others.
  2. I must have gotten a baddie- EVERYTHING in my kit was warped. Well, the vinyl and clear parts were okay, but the rest was pretty bad. It's still upstaris on a shelf in the box half finished.
  3. A lot of it does have to do with customs- for instance, I'm about 60 miles north west of Detroit- shipping a package to or from Detroit is usually a next day deal. Now, Windsor, Ontario is right across the river from Detroit, but it can be a week or longer before anything I send gets there, or anything sent to me from there gets here. Even if the Canadian postal workers are slacking, I'm thinking most packages spend a little bit of time chilling in customs. Just my own personal experience.
  4. That might create the illusion of too-large wheel openings. Not sure if I want to stretch the body, or use a second kit (I paid quite a bit for this one! ) Considering that the Mustang chassis will need to be stretched to work, I'd like to keep the 'cutting and lengthening' to a minimum on this particular project.
  5. Should be in 'Under Glass' tomorrow- just a matter of adding the front air springs, fuel, and air tanks.
  6. Dug out an old gun I made for another project years ago, and rigged up the rear-mounted radiator and plumbing.
  7. Fully authentic... right down to those pesky seagulls.
  8. Bash it all ya like, Christian, but I can't find a single thing to dislike about it. If this is one of your 'baddies', I've got a good home for any others you might not be fond of and want out of your hair.
  9. Hmmmmmmmmm.... I see a few repurposed '70 Impala bits on that one! I think.
  10. There are a few customs in here, but I did go out of my way to dig up some crusty ones as well. http://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=48429
  11. Aren't too many vechiles that don't look good in Inca Gold.
  12. Here's how the '71 has looked since, well, forever...
  13. Only bad thing about the Revell Pro Street Mark VII are the wheel openings- they're a bit on the big side. (Maybe to show off those kewel wide-5 styled billets?) Not sure how/if I'll fix that, but the cutouts for the side exit exhaust will probably be going bye-bye.
  14. Awesome! Shame most of those old AMT promos cannot be reissued.
  15. there's been an upswing in Mustang/Fox body CBPs the last week or so, and I've still got a stack of Hudson Hornets, so that should keep me busy most of the snowy months. Then I've got to do something with that 1:1 '40 Dodge I just got...
  16. Ranger diesels have been gone in the US since the late '80's. You're just now starting to see increased availability of diesel engines in light-duty pickups and passenger cars again.
  17. I dunno- Bigfoot is probably more common than a single-tank '87-'96 F-Series! And I HAVE seen single-tank Ford F-series trucks of that vintage, by the way. Exceedingly rare, but they do exist.
  18. Good! No idea when/if I'll jump in with that one, but knowing it fits the CBP might help it get bench priority again.
  19. I was the '80's... residual polyester poisioning from the previous decade, perhaps? I do have to say those wheels look great on the II, as does the Phantom Hurst paint scheme. Who'da thought?
  20. X2! Heck, if I can do it, so can you...
  21. I have a set of those wheels (well, three of them), they came in the MPC FWD Charger kit, of all things. (1983 annual kit is the one I have, not sure if other years had the same wheels). Wow- sorry for the poor quality pic!
  22. Okay... I think I'm in. '71 Boss 351 kit converted to a coupe, using a '73 Cougar roof. Just dug out the kit today and the roof swap is roughed in. Just all the 'fun' stuff left to do!
  23. Ah, yes, Hunter's ride. Gotta build one of those some day. MPC kit's about a half decade too new for that.
  24. This thread has me seriously considering blowing the dust off my old Revell Lincoln Mk VII kit. I've been doing some test fitting to stuff a stock (or at least closer to stock) chassis underneath it, and thats where a big, hairy 'if' pops up... The car obviously had a Fox platform under it when new, but the platform I'm using is actually a '97 Mustang, meaning its an SN95 chassis under the '90 Lincoln body. So would this project fit in here? I know the SN95 was technically a modified Fox, but NOT a Fox (hence the SN95 designation), so would that rule it out? Or would the fact that the body was only available from the factory with a Fox platform (remember- the MkVIII came out three years after the T-Bird and Cougar went to the MN12 platform) override that?
