  1. Awesome! Shame most of those old AMT promos cannot be reissued.
  2. there's been an upswing in Mustang/Fox body CBPs the last week or so, and I've still got a stack of Hudson Hornets, so that should keep me busy most of the snowy months. Then I've got to do something with that 1:1 '40 Dodge I just got...
  3. Ranger diesels have been gone in the US since the late '80's. You're just now starting to see increased availability of diesel engines in light-duty pickups and passenger cars again.
  4. I dunno- Bigfoot is probably more common than a single-tank '87-'96 F-Series! And I HAVE seen single-tank Ford F-series trucks of that vintage, by the way. Exceedingly rare, but they do exist.
  5. Good! No idea when/if I'll jump in with that one, but knowing it fits the CBP might help it get bench priority again.
  6. I was the '80's... residual polyester poisioning from the previous decade, perhaps? I do have to say those wheels look great on the II, as does the Phantom Hurst paint scheme. Who'da thought?
  7. X2! Heck, if I can do it, so can you...
  8. I have a set of those wheels (well, three of them), they came in the MPC FWD Charger kit, of all things. (1983 annual kit is the one I have, not sure if other years had the same wheels). Wow- sorry for the poor quality pic!
  9. Okay... I think I'm in. '71 Boss 351 kit converted to a coupe, using a '73 Cougar roof. Just dug out the kit today and the roof swap is roughed in. Just all the 'fun' stuff left to do!
  10. Ah, yes, Hunter's ride. Gotta build one of those some day. MPC kit's about a half decade too new for that.
  11. This thread has me seriously considering blowing the dust off my old Revell Lincoln Mk VII kit. I've been doing some test fitting to stuff a stock (or at least closer to stock) chassis underneath it, and thats where a big, hairy 'if' pops up... The car obviously had a Fox platform under it when new, but the platform I'm using is actually a '97 Mustang, meaning its an SN95 chassis under the '90 Lincoln body. So would this project fit in here? I know the SN95 was technically a modified Fox, but NOT a Fox (hence the SN95 designation), so would that rule it out? Or would the fact that the body was only available from the factory with a Fox platform (remember- the MkVIII came out three years after the T-Bird and Cougar went to the MN12 platform) override that?
  12. That's true! Besides, since there's no cut off date, I've got plenty of time to come up with all sorts of twisted ideas...
  13. Not from the factory, at least. Come to think of it- was the 2.3 turbo ever available anywhere else but the US? Ford got some pretty good mileage out of that engine, used it in quite a few vehicles, but I've only ever seen it installed from the factory in North American-market products. Now that I think of it, same goes for the normally aspirated 2.3.
  14. And what about the Merkur Scorpio? About the same thing happened to that car when it was 'Americanized' for the US market. (The Focus RS SHOULD have been sold here, if you ask for my humble opinion! ) I don't see Ford producing a V8-powered SC for the Euro market, but an aftermarket concern very well could have done it.
  15. I've been thinking of stuffing a '92 T-Bird 3.8 Supercharged V6 into an AMT '78 II for a while- keep this going and you might well sway me in the direction of actually following through with that plan.
  16. Reminds me of my former boss' '83 '7, only with way less rust.
  17. I hear the coupe is a pain to build- wonder if the Spyder will be a bit more pleasant?
  18. And Chrysler never made a four-door PT Cruiser convertible, nor did they make a convertible Charger or 300. For the US or any other market. But they exist. GM never made a 4-door Corvette or a t-top pickup, but in the 70's they were available. What am I saying? A British firm could have swapped a V8 into a Super Coupe, especially considering the 3.8 supercharged V6 did not pass Euro specs.
  19. Just got rid of my last M2 kit, so I've got nothing to start on. If my 'Lack of Mustang II kit' situation looks up, I'd be more than willing to join in.
  20. Wondering where you'd disappeared to! Feel free to dig up any/all of your old projects- it'll be worth it.
  21. '66. My great uncle got it when he bought his 1:1 '66 brand new.
  22. Do you see it? It's right toward the middle of the picture....
