Better late than never!
Got a COPO Nova kit Saturday morning, and spent the next two days fiddling around with what turned out to be quite a few warped parts.
Clamps, superglue, and some colorful language were all it took to fix the problem, though.
The size is about right, and I'll probably use those tires, but it's the design of the wheel I don't care for. I do have some Viper wheels around here somwhere, I might end up using those.
I'd love to see one of the 'bigger' model companies rebox that Bedford kit- Emhar kits aren't exactly thick on the ground in my neck of the woods, and I don't like buying online when I can get it locally.
Must be- they've announced they're doing a Prostar and a 53' Great Dane trailer kit to go with the Lonestar!
Forgot all about the Coupelet until now! Sucks it's OOP. Guess that means I'll have to get off my duff and order a center door!
I did have fun with that Jimmy Flintstone body, though-
I've got a punching bag just kitty corner from my work area, just for situations like this.
Odd how a hobby that is usually so relaxing can bring up so much blind rage sometimes, isn't it?
I've only ever built one- the drag sedan, but it was done box stock mostly. I do have the Thames panel van version I plan to make a little bit wilder, but that project might not be started until a long, long time from now.
I like the rollbar AND the boot- I'd say make them both removable so you could display it either way.
And yeah- I just used the 'oblong' tire mounting hole trick on a project I just finished- it was that or have the right front tire about three scale inches up in the air.
Toying around with the Matador today, wondering about slapping twin turbos on that Viper V10. I figure it's not going to clear the stock hood anyway, so why not?
Dusenberg? Looks like the '32 Chrysler engine to me. (I KNOW that's where that grille came from. )
But whatever the case, I love it. A Chevy powered by ANYTHING but a Chevy engine is cool to me.
