  1. Fantastic build!!! Very nicely done!!!
  2. Just googled the Jeff Lutz car and it is wicked looking. The Revell pro sportsman chassis can be lengthened and shortened at will. It is not too difficult. On my '59 Imperial build I stretched the floor pan and frame rails to the proper wheelbase. Notice how the frame has two notched rear cross members. I spliced the rear section of one onto a second frame. As you can see in this picture, you can do the same with the floor pan. Not only did I stretch the floor pan but I widened it and added a new section up front for scratch built firewall. I don't know if the sportsman and pro stock chassis are the same width but adding/subtracting length for the wheelbase isn't very hard at all. If I can help further just let me know.
  3. This is coming along very nicely! Those injector tubes look great!!!
  4. Nice build!!! Very good looking car!
  5. That is gorgeous!!! I can't believe how quick you finished it!! Welcome back to truck modeling!!!
  6. Spent a couple hours on this today. All the wiring is in except for the rear kill switch. You can see the completed rear end/wheelie bars in the first pic. They are permanently installed in the chassis now. I just finished painting the injector hat. Plumbing the fuel system will be the next project.......one I'm not really looking forward to. This motor would demand a lot of fuel so I've got some serious work ahead of me. As always thanks for looking!
  7. VERY nice build!!!!
  8. Looking forward to seeing your jig. Plese show us how you build it.
  9. I agree. This is going to be awesome!
  10. I like that a lot!!! Keep it going!
  11. VERY nice!!! Good job!!
  12. Thanks for the compliments guys! Clay, I try very hard to keep everything neat and orderly when I build. A messy bench/shop just makes things more difficult. I am constantly tidying up my bench. The mat is dirty in this pic but you can see that the only thing on the green are parts for the 'Cuda: I use these little clear drawers to keep small parts from disappearing. Bigger sub assemblies are kept in trays. You can see the chassis and decals rear tires and some detail parts in this shot. They tray is big enough to hold the entire project should I decide to put it away for a while.
  13. Very cool. I love how you laid it out on the computer.
  14. You're off to a good start. Those wheels look so much better drilled out!
  15. Thanks Dale, I will!!
  16. After reading the NHRA rules it looks like my car would have to be more of an exhibition racer. I am not conforming to several rules; ie Double magnetos, fuel tank in the rear, injector hat way taller than the roof. I almost have a top fuel motor in a stock bodied car....... I did find quite a few things I can add because of the rule book though......like drive shaft loops, where to route the fire lines, bag over the oil pan, throttle and clutch must be pedal activated but I can run a hand brake wheel bar max length. I now have the rules for my next build and can attempt to be more accurate next time.
  17. Dale that is a huge help!!! Thank you very much!!!!
  18. THIS TOTALLY HELPS!!!!! Thank you so much!!! I had a feeling the fuel lines had to run outside the passenger compartment. Thanks for confirming. Looks like I'm gonna need to find a way to attach the fuel lines to the frame......
  19. I am making some serious progress on my 'Cuda Pro Mod. I have a few questions regarding the actual cars/rules. I have to mount my fuel cell in the trunk. Can I run the fuel lines up front through the interior or do they need to go under the car? Do any builders run lines for fuel and or brakes through the cage? On certain blown motors I see hoses coming off the tops of the valve covers. They connect to a tank or to the roll cage. What are these hoses for? What determines whether these cars have an on board starter? I see some have batteries and a starter and some are started like a T/F dragster/funny car with a removable starter at the blower. Thanks for any help you can provide. Ron
  20. You say the motor is sitting to high? Nah.....I think it looks awesome just the way it is!
  21. Looks awesome! I wish I could figure out how to open doors like you do! Love this build
