I am still waiting on the decals for my 'Cuda. I started working on my next build, a stretched '69 Camaro. I really wasn't happy with the way it was coming out so I dropped it in favor of this. 1976 Pontiac Ventura. The hood is actually a Camaro piece but after some trimming it fit pretty well. Then I cut out the hatch: I started on the cage: I have not decided on motivation yet but you can be assured there will be a blower sticking through that huge hood. Thanks for looking!

Bob, with my latest build I made some mistakes that I hope to avoid on future builds. You have to think of building this like you would a real car. Build the frame first, then hang the suspension, install the running gear, install the interior, then blow it all apart for paint. I found that if I had assembled my engine 100% before installing it in the car my life would have been a lot easier. I'm going to be building a tool to hold my drag engines while I build them. Another thing is parts that you will handle a lot, ie sliding the body on and off, putting tires on and off. Detail/paint them last to avoid damaging the finish. I have to re-decal my rear tires because I handled them too much. My hood will not fit because the blower hold down straps don't have enough slack in them. You will encounter problems you will have to solve but think of it this way. Each build is a learning experience. Take what you can from this build to help you with the next one. Ron

Thanks guys. I am planning to re-paint it today. Hopefully decal it by the end of the week and then clear it. Then all that's left are the 'chutes, some bare metal foil, head and tail lights and some minor wiring. I debated cutting the drivers door open but I'd have to hinge it and I've already messed up two bodies trying to open the doors..... Maybe on the next build....

Revell was set up at the MASSCar show yesterday. They had the new pieces on display for this Kit. I tried to take a picture but it didn't come out. There were 3 new trees of parts shown. One had new front and rear suspensions, Another had a GT40 style intake, wheels and headers, the last had the new cowl hood, roll bar, two racing seats and a wing. Wish my picture would have come out......

These kits are a fantastic source for parts. I have yet to use one of the engines, as I prefer the look of a blower sticking through the hood. So here is my question. What would I need to do to convert one of these engines to a supercharged version? (besides slapping a blower on top.) Would I keep the radiator? Need a bigger fuel tank? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

This set was out of production at SLIXX. I did find a couple of sets at a slot car dealer in California so they are on the way and the car is in the stripper. Tragedy avoided!!!!
