  1. Got the interior and body pretty much done. Nick
  2. Got a front bumper and front pan on order from modelhaus, I actually like the custom rear bumper and lights better than the stock ones, car came up Super good after a swim in the purple pond, also dug out some parts to replace missing pieces, a Builtup Torino Interior and Chassis I had donated a front suspension and a steering column and wheel. Nick
  3. The Story: Well the boys have been trying to make sure we keep the shop firing on all 8 while still trying to get our Cannonball Racer ready for the approximatley 2800 Mile Journey, Plus the additional 500 miles to go from our shop to New York. First thing that we realized was that the tires that were on the car when we got it, weren't going to cut it. So because of our budget, we decided to check the local Craigslist and Kijiji for what ever deals we could find. We got lucky and found quite a few parts with good prices, we also got a power plant a 454 mated to a TH400, a pretty good combo. An Extra fuel cell also found it's way into the truck. The Model: Started digging through parts boxes for goodies. Trying to get some stuff done on my Shop Dio as well. Nick
  4. Build them, unless I'm offered stupid Money, then I might let it go and buy one in a less pristine condition. Nick
  5. Well Put Rob, I'm interested to see how this year's build will progress.
  6. Heater rebuild is on my list of things to do this winter, trying to finish one job before I start another though. I've cleaned out whats seems to be about 35 years worth of tree's and leaves, found some odd stuff in odd places too. Nick Old cars have more stories to tell than most would beleive another fellow on the C body Forum just found out his Newport Limo belonged to the Chicago Knockers Mud Wrestling Team at one point! Nick
  7. Cannonball is all about finding Loop holes and ways around rules & problems Nick
  8. 1969 Plymouth Fury III Convertible (Or as we say in our Circles 27 Car). Started with 2 Stripped and Parted out the Brown car due to severe structural issues and am currently restoring this one Looked something like this until Sunday Looks like this right now A lot of guys would have ran away when they found the many things that I have, a lot might have sold it off or scrapped it, but not me, I don't scare easy and I'm stubborn, sometimes that's an advantage. The car owes me nothing and I truly love the design of these cars, they were truly beautiful when new and hopefully mine will be again in the near future. Nick There is a link to the cars build in my signature * Language and topics as well as comments are truly adult orientated, Not for the faint at heart or for children, it is a forum for Men and Women who are restoring 1:1 cars, and so there is a lot of Garage Talk.*
  9. Hmmm you know I never thought of that loop hole...........Very smart guys. Nick
  10. I wish I had today off, Had to get up early and go to work only for the boss to decide to close early. Did get a lot done this afternoon, and I do have tomorrow off, Progress pictures later. Nick
  11. Some TSP to clean some bits and pieces of the 1:1 Project, and a gift a previous owner left, explains the 2x rustier fender on this side and the 1 rim that was a different color (Red, matched the color of the fender I pulled off this side) Not a big deal, no one can see this area on the firewall when everything is re-assembled. Nick
  12. Updated the list, we are nearing the start guys, Soon I hope to see what we have up our sleeves. Nick
  13. Nope, nothing wrong with two people with the same vehicle. Nick
  14. Steve, that's exactly what I was saying, the first time. Nick
  15. Steve, AMT did the Originals, thats what I'm saying so this later MPC effort holds no water in my shop, and when you really examin the original AMT and this one side by side, you see the vast differences.
  16. Thanks. Then there's my Annual. my '69 RS/SS Coupe Made the Revell bits fit with some cutting and adding of sheet styrene cut in strips. Then the body work started trying to save the nearly 45 year old plastic. Nick
  17. So the MPC.....................let me start by saying it's not an MPC, it's the same kit AMT (while under RC2) has reissued about 3 or 4 times and this was the last reissue before the Round2 Take over, and it is showing the constant reissues, Oy vey. But I'll do what I can, it's mostly going to be out of the box with some minor changes and detailing. Sink Marks....................... after a run through the Bondo. Modified headrests due to Extreme sink marks. better, still need work. After Primer Wheels & tires for this one. You'll not I've chose the following options for this one: P06 Wheel Trim Rings VE3 Bumper; special front, matches body color ZL2 Hood; special ducted And I have Chose a Dover White with Red interior and Top.
  18. A friend and I got talking on another forum (he runs two shows in the Hamilton Ontario area) before we knew it we had a build going with a few other guys we know who attend the shows, Tony offered a group display at his Heritagecon7 show at the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, so before I knew it I had 3 camaro's. I'll post some progress here as well as the Facebook page we've got. I have an original '69 Coupe from AMT, the newer RC2 reissue of the 80's MPC Camaro, and a Revell '69 missing some stuff when I got it. as you may be able to tell, I'm mixing the original body with the revell running gear and interior and vice versa. More to come
  19. One of the guys on one of the Fury Forums owns this one, ex Nevada Highway Patrol if I remember right, was always and unmarked. Glad I finally know the story on the flipped lid. Nick
  20. Your on the list fella's.
  21. Very cool Project Rick, I'll be doing something similar with the AMT 71 Charger and my MPC '76 Road Runner. "Out of curiousity what was the engine color for 1977 & 1978." This I can answer, your using the 440 from the AMT '71 Charger Right, below is a U-Code 440 powered '77 Dodge Monaco (this one is A38 police package mind you). As you can see it is Chrysler Corporate Blue. You'll note that the owner of that car has the air cleaner lid flipped upside down. Nick
  22. Can do, consider it done (this time I'll hit save changes.)
  23. You kill me Mr. G, had a good laugh at that. Note: The Race hasn't started yet and even after it has entries will be excepted, you will not be added to the list until you have a definite entry (IE '69 Camaro, '72 Opel, etc) Nick
  24. He has a name and no Mikes on the list for a few days, just missed Austin and his Porshe.
  25. Could have swore I did, I even typed it in, guess it helps if you hit save changes Nicl
