  1. Slight update and a few finished photo's. Pretty proud of the outcome of this one, have another 70's issue AMT '49 Merc I'm thinking will be done with different style. tryed to keep my details appropriate to the theme. (no fast food, some some tin foil for takeout from burger joints, no GPS so Maps, magazines and newspapers for news, and in the trunk; no AAA so tools are necessary, also you see my plan for avoiding the law.) Nick
  2. Yes, good site and was a good show last year, hopefully this year will be another good show. Nick
  3. Yes sadly this cars frame is very bad, and it looks as though it was a quick used car dealership special as well (Full of bondo, and half assed patches). I'll post a few more photo's I have in a little while, in a way almost sad to see it go, but a guy has bought it off me for the Front suspension and the 8 3/4 rear end. Funny part is that I sold it for what I paid for both cars in the beginning. Nick
  4. Still around, working on finishing up my Merc, needs to still get a few more details finished and assemble some stuff, would have posted an update with photo but Photobucket seems to hate me today. Nick
  5. How's this Niko, I'll get a few better shot in a about an hour, need to go check on a few things anyway. Nick
  6. That's too bad about not making the meeting, I'll see you at the show. Have a good flight, and remember not to jump outta this plane. Nick
  7. Very cool to see someone working on a 1/24/25th scale '69 C body, Now if only I could get parts of my 1:1 '69 Fury done that quick, let me know if you need any chassis or engine bay reference, have my parts car all apart. Nick I'll be following this for sure.
  8. If anyone wants some 727/904 (yes I know the bellhousings are different.) or 318 LA detail shots let me know.
  9. Some Rot photo's and some other mix weathering reference. Glad this is my parts car.
  10. Sounds good Bob, I know I'm going to at least Meet Pat and Adam (actual I'll see Adam the Wednesday before the show )
  11. I've bought it at CarQuest also.
  12. You could say that, this is how it looked on August 16th.
  13. To answer this as guy with a car he's restoring, No it doesn't have to be dead stock, my car will not be dead on factory restoration, it will be Restored to what I believe it should be as far as condition of all components. Nick Edit: Changes I will be adding will be Factory Power Brakes's from my parts car and The Dual exhaust it already has on it.
  14. My '69 Fury III Parts car is nearly totally stripped now and if anyone wants reference shots of rotted frame rails or floors or the like, let me know and I will snap them before she goes to scrap. Nick
  15. My opinion, As a under 18 modeller, (said that because that is how most shows/contests categorize us), I've been in this hobby for 8 years, My neighbor and one of my best friends caught the modelling bug from me and now models. As far as no people to take over the hobby as most of you have bleakly made the hobby's lively hood sound, every show I've been to they're is at least a dozen if not more people my age, who have entered they're models, and at least twice that many onlookers, who have just come to see the show and don't enter. Every time I'm in the local hobby shop there is younger people in it. On that note how many of you guys have kids that build? That's how I got into this hobby, my dad built up until my siblings were older. As far as I'm concerned those "Tuner" kits, those "Donk" kits, all the stuff you guys criticize for being released, that's what draws the younger crowd, I know, I've spoken with the owner of the local hobby shop, he's said that when those kits first came out he noticed a lot of younger people buying them. I've noticed that this topic comes up all the time, Are We INVISIBLE on this Forum, watch the Birthdays: See how many are under 20, under 30, even under 40. Then tell me that the hobby will die off after your generation. Nick Winter
  16. Holy, that should move, Part 2 of the Firebird will be started pretty soon.
  17. Got some stuff, not sure if the Grant wheel will end up on the Fury, but it was free. Nick
  18. Rodney you are correct. Close, BWD Nascar Performance RU6 Ballast Resistor, got it and a spare for my '69 Fury. It's not a bad idea.
  19. Got one of these, I know what it is and what is does, interested to see if anyone else does. Nick
  20. Rick it's 1/25th like all AMT's and yes they had E150 Shorties. Nick
  21. Mike those Ford Trailering Mirrors really helped out my Wrecker, has been very neat to watch this one shape Up!
  22. Yes That's it, Thank you Guys! I now know what I have, now what to do with it. Nick
  23. Hmmm tough to make a judgement here. These are in no particular order. 1.) AMT 1990 Chevrolet C-1500 Stepside: Excellent kit of the subject, very detailed and proportionate to the 1:1 (have a 1:1 Fleetside to compare it to), has working steering (I just think that's neat), Really enjoyable kit to build, can and have built it a number of ways. 2.) AMT '58 Plymouth Belvedere: Detail is Very nice and crisp on this kit, almost falls together. Neat Subject with only minor proportionate issues, 318 Poly is nice for other uses also. Have built one and have 3 more under my bench. 3.) Revell '57 Chevy 150 "Black Widow": Have only built the one, but very much so enjoyed it, very nice crisp detail and nice decal sheet. Just plain enjoyable to build a nice stripper once and while. 4.) Lindberg '97 Crown Victoria: Built two of these now and have 2 more under the bench, would like a few more, it's a crown vic, not like nobody has used it as a fleet car, can be built a million ways with a bit of work, very nicely molded, and other than having no engine, really isn't a snap kit. 5.) Revell Caprice: haven't built mine yet, have two, but the quality is excellent only kit I've ever seen that says it's a snap kit but has a engine and separate suspension parts 6.) AMT '62 Bel Air: just a really neat kit, great detail. 7.) AMT '57 Chrysler 300C: goes hand and hand with the '58 Forward Look Plymouth, just really nice. 8.) AMT '71 Duster 340: super cool kit of a very nice car (guy I bought my '69 Plymouth off, has a '70 Duster 340 that is all original with factory speed parts, has 4:1:1 gears in the 8 3/4 Sure-Grip) 9.) AMT '94 Sonoma SLS: Very detailed kit, matches the 1:1 very well, has a great Vortec 4.3L if you need to source one. 10.) Revell '64 Chevy Impala SS: Surprising how nice this kit actually is, detail is Excellent, was worth what I got mine for. Nick
  24. I have a 1/25th 1970 Monte carlo, it has molded in fender skirts and is pretty basic on the detail, is molded in white and has 1970 on the bumpers, is this a promo? Nick
  25. Finish the ones I have started. Mind you I've been doing that for years, one day I will clear my bench entirely.
