And yet, your obviously a fan of Dr. Who of whom is beyond math and science. An alien creature with two hearts, who can self-regenerate, who time-travels, and who lives in a phone-booth looking box that is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside. Okay, well..............................LOL! No problem, I love Dr. Who as well, my favorites are with David Tennant. But I do agree, live for today, as tomorrow may never come. And if tomorrow comes, repeat!

Did anybody mention the Vector? Any generation Vector would be great. I know there are some HotWheels models of the third gen, the one that look's like a big shark, and I think there's a 1/18 scale die-cast model of the second generation Vector, the V8 Turbo I think it is? But have not seen any plastic kit's of any of them. -

There is a kit on ebay from Fujimi, with a very similar front end to this. I'm sure it's not the same car, but the front is certainly similar. Have a look, it's ebay item number 230374503097 -

The funniest scene from that Top Gear episode was watching their BBC news report's and watching Jeremy drive by behind the two reporter's. LOL! That scene still crack's me up today! How in the world can somebody as big as Jeremy, and he is a big guy, I don't mean fat, I mean just simply big, can fit into that little car beats the snot out of me! -
Your Very First Real Car

That's nice, but let's keep this to our first car's. This is not a wish-list here. Thank's! -
Anybody seen Nicolas Cage's movie "Knowing"? Who really wants to know the future? Not me.............live in the moment. That's what life is about, not worrying about what may or may not happen.

Your Very First Real Car

And yes! There DOES EXIST a 1/32 scale plastic model kit of my old 72. I forget who makes the kit, but it's available! In fact, my local hobby shop has one and I'm thinking of picking it up this week. Might be perfect size for my 1/43 scale RC car! Won't know till I try it out! It was a little fast for its size yes. I even had a lowering kit for the old thing but never had the chance to put it on. I was considering stuffing a more powerful motorcycle engine in there and make it more racy! -
It shall be called the Knight Industries Two Thousand Twelve. K.I.T.T.T. Oh, and it will have super, super duper pursuit mode by then! LOL!

Harry, don't worry. I don't believe in any of it till I see it with my own eyes. Event's can't really be predicted until after they have happened. Example, look at 911. A lot of people said that Nostradamous predicted it, but only after the fact. I never recalled any such words before the event. It's really easy for people to say, "I told you so!" after the fact. I think life will go on................I am curious as to what ROM you'll have for us by the Monday following 2012!

Thank you old-hermit for that. Your sentence here, is very close to what I had in mind and probably what Gene Roddenberry had in mind too. "A New Age interpretation of this transition posits that, during this time, the planet and its inhabitants may undergo a positive physical or spiritual transformation, and that 2012 may mark the beginning of a totally new era." Who knows, maybe, just maybe 2012 is the beginning of something wonderful!

PM me with detail's and let's make a deal. Need one for this build-off.

Enough of 2012, what was your very first real car? Here's a picture of mine. It's a 1972 Honda Z Coupe, one of the first few cars Honda bought into the USA. My Dad found this for me when I was around 13-14 years old. At that time, we weren't sure how tall I was going to get and this car suited me just fine! When we first got it, it was an ugly rusted orange, and gave it new life. We gave it this custom Domino's Pizza Racer look and had the upholstery done up to match. We even gave it a cool duel-exaust system on it. It was a fun little car and I had it for the longest time. I think it was one of the few we traded in for the Insight.

Just because a calender stop's on a certain date, doesn't mean the world will end on that date. After all, it's the year 2009, but Earth has been here for billion's of years? Technically, isn't this like the year 29,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, or whatever? LOL! And not the year 2009?

I only believe in one race, and that is the HUMAN RACE! Thank you Scott for your insight and I'm with you on that all the way. Your point about greed is exactly what I meant by Roddenberry's futuristic dream. Eventually, it will decline to a minimal, but there will always be those few. After all, we're only human! Can't eliminate greed all together!

Who said you had to have a wheel to be smart? Who said just because you have a wheel means your intelligent? Look at that other thread about that 70 year old lady driver who kept running into thing's at the parking lot? LOL Anyway, I've said what I wanted to say and I enjoy reading what you all think...............keep it coming!

LOL! First time I saw that bug I thought it was a real one and tried to swat it. I don't believe in the end of the world unless an astroid smacks us silly. Even still, I like to believe we have the tech to defend our selves if we can catch it in time. Like I said, same BS that was said back in 2001 and we're still going. While thing's maybe getting worse, I think technology is getting better and we just have to be smart enough to use it in the right way. We've already discovered water on Mars and now I think on the Moon as well? Could we possibly figure out how to grow food there? Over-population is a big threat, but wars can knock down a few. Should we send criminals into space? Let them inhabit the Moon? Lot's to think about, lot's to ponder and it is a fun topic with so many variants and everybody having their own opinion. Will life come to an end? I doubt it, but it will certainly change! Life is always changing! Just recently read a topic on AOL that scientists have discovered about 40 new species of life on some remote location. We are also finding proof that we are space-dust and there for other planets just might inhabit similar life. It's a big world out there!

NICE RED! Can't wait to see this one finished!

The older I get, the more I appreciate the classic's. Wether it be classic rock'n'roll music, or classic hot-rods. Yet, I do appreciate technology and I am very fond of our hybrids. Yes we like what we like, but we should also appreciate what we need. Speaking of which, whatever happend to the round futuristic egg-shaped concept cars we thought we would've had by now? Everything these day's seem to be more boxy, and/or pointy. Not so round, elegant, and "CARS OF THE FUTURE" look! Love my Insight!

Or how about Bruce Willis's movie The 5th Element? What year was that supposed to be?
-
There really is nothing special about 2012. As I said in my first post, it's the same garbage they said about 2001. Yea thing's are bad, yea thing's might get worse, but end of the world? I don't beleive that.
-
Harry, I'm surprised at yea. Yes there sci-fi, no they have nothing to do with reality. What I'm talking about is Gene Roddenberry's dream about mankind. Not talking about starships, transporter devices, and what not. Pay attention to what's behind the sci-fi and drama. Pay attention to Gene's messages. is nobody listening to me? Oh well, to each his own.
-
Oh you people are so negative! LOL! Let's continue building cars and having fun heh?
-
Roddenberry certainly has nothing to do with 2012 at all. I was just stating that I don't believe in "predictions" as such. And what's so special about the year 2012? Just because planets and the sun line up? I was using Roddenberry as more of a positive mood setter than depressing 2012 sayers. In order for thing's to improve the way we'd like, I'm afraid it will have to hit rock bottom first. Don't be so negative my friends, life will prevail! We will go on! Think of Morgan Freeman's speech in Deep Impact.

Yes, but if you ever watch Star-Trek, there has always been a handful of bad people out there, even us human's. So, while the majority of us will be on that same wave-length, there will always be a few bad apples.

I want a Holodeck and a replicator! On a serious note: I think several thing's will happen. One, an outside threat will cause mankind to merge together as one race, the human-race. We may not develop warp-drive, or massive star-ships to take us to other worlds, but we may some how find way's to learn more about what's out there. If we live long enough, say another 1,000 years, then it's possible technology will advance so greatly that we can travel longer distances perhaps even with warp-drive or similar technology. Think of Star Trek "First Contact" We have the power to save our selves as well as destroy our selves. I believe the power to save our selves from an outside threat is what will bring us all closer together. No, I'm not talking about Independence Day, talking about astroids, meteor's and such. We will not be alone in the universe as soon as we realize we have each other.
