  1. WOW! You built that 962? Nice work! That can't be 1/43, the details are too amazing for that size!
  2. Wow atenzapower, your RX7 is close in color to mine! But your wheels look much nicer! I need to find some sort of an offset kit for my models so I can use any wheels on any kit's. Also love your Koenig, thanks'!
  3. Here's another kit from Fujimi I want to do. The picture is not of the model kit, but of the real car. Unfortunetly, I have not yet found a picture of the kit itselfe. It is a 1989 Honda CRX SI modified from the Honda-tuner Mugen. This very rare kit has optional bumpers and rear wing and is one of my fav kit's. I'm going to continue looking for the picture of the actual kit.
  4. Those are cool van's, but what's up with the rear wheels? Too much of a squat if you ask me. Looking forward to seeing this one being built! Any color ideas? I like the white in the photo.
  5. Thank you, but I do not YET have an airbrush. This is one thing I'm itching for the more I work on model cars, the more I want one. I was very lucky with my RX7's finish coming from a rattle can, but I bet it'd look ton's better if airbrushed. If/when I get the airbrush and the model kit, I'll let you know about needing those paints! Thank you for your info!
  6. I wonder if that stuff is still available some where? Thank you for that info. Would be nice if Testors could get into that.
  7. Okay guy's, can we get back on topic with scale model car's please? Thank.....................you!
  8. As for helicopters, well, do you want me to include just the ones I own or the one my Dad and I own collectively together? Me personally, I own a highly modified Align Trex 450 which started life out as their first generation, and upgrades, and upgrades and rebuilds later, became my full alloy-carbon-fiber Airwolf clad 450XL with Heli-Command moduel. I have a Walkera 54Q3 Co-axial Airwolf, a Nine Eagles Kestrel 500, and the one I fly all over the house is the Eflite MCX which I've recently ordered a Hughs 500 body for from MIA-MicroFlight. If I was to list the ones my Dad owns, well, this post would be a mile long! LOL!
  9. I used to have an 88 Honda CRX SI that I "tuned". It was a blast to drive and alot of fun to work on, a peice of cake really except for some things. It just started getting expensive to keep it in top shape so with help from dear old Dad we traded a couple of cars in for my new 2001 Honda Insight. I've yet to do my own work on that car and probably afraid to touch it as it's sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much newer than the CRX. Only downside of the Insight is that there aren't any "upgrades" for it so it's pretty much bone stock with the exception of a Momo gear knob which feels just right with the rest of the car. So, I'm too broke to work on 1:1 scale cars so models are my thing. I've also built this first gen MR2 several times along time ago and it's chassis/interior is very similar to my RX7 kit. However, I've not seen one done up this wild before with the wide fenders and big wing. I kind of like it, suits my style.
  10. I'm interested in pictures. I belong to another forum based on Kyosho's 1/28 scale RC cars and I had been asking theme about useing nail polish paints on the Mini-Z bodies. Nobody really had any answers for me so I guess none of theme really looked into nail polish for their RC bodies. By the way, these bodies are plastic much like your model cars, so please dont' get confused with Lexan. I've seen alot of fascinating colors used for fingernails and have often thought they'd make great colors for cars. So, I'm very curious as to how to go about painting with this. I'm also itching for an airbrush and would like some tips on it as well. Thank's!
  11. Won't be any time soon.............................just an image stuck in my head from being a previous Initial D fan. Would like to do similar for WRC though! I think the first step would be to build the car's that'll be displayd on the diorama. After all, if the car's turn to poop, what's the point of the diorama? Why build a diorama, and then plaster it with die-cast models that Joe-Blow can buy?
  12. Wouldn't KITT from classic Knight Rider fit in? I know it's not technically a "Firebird", but.................................anyway very impressive for water colors.
  13. Do you guy's buy as you build, or do you like to stock up on kit's for later say like a "rainy day" type deal? Do you go hunting for specific kit's to build, and/or do you just pick up whatever suits your fancy at the moment? Do you buy alot of your kits on-line, or local hobby shop and what's the best hobby shop you've loved? My favorite hobby shop used to be one in Miami that I would visit as a young kid back in the 80's when visiting Grandma durring Christmas. It was called Orange Blossom Hobbies and they had an amazing collection of model kit's. Sadly, that place is long since gone and with Grandma gone as well, we never visit there anymore. Now when I visit my brother in California, there's a nice hobby shop near his place, but they dont' always have the best selection. Right now for me, we have two Hobby Town USA's, one same side of town as where we live, and the other is about maybe 10 miles down the road or something like that. I prefer on-line shopping these day's............................ Again, feel free to post your future project's! Either just purchased, or wish lists! Speaking of which, here's another one on my wish list.
  14. I'll probably just find the closest green without being British Green. I sometimes like to build it like the photo on the box and display the model next to the box top. Most of the time, I choose my own colors like I did on the RX7.
  15. Thank you. I suppose it's the metallics that are more in question as basic colors such as white's, red's, yellow's, et'c dont' really have an issue of size. I think maybe pearls might also be an issue?
  16. Don't need pic's of the mountain. Just want pic's of a diorama build. I also have watched WRC "World Rally Championship" in where they do alot of drifting on the tarmac stages, as well as watching the latest Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift movie. So I'm very familiar and as you said I know EXACTLY what I want. I just need to know how to build it!
  17. That was exactly my thought as back in those day's that's what I've heard long before my interest in Jap's and the like. I think the tuner companies and companies like Koenig do it best though as they do it more from racing experience than hobbies.
  18. Thank you for those pictures. Do you know what they call that blue on that MR2? Maybe that'll be easier to match then green? Or should I just find a generic Forst Green? As for the Koenig models, I absolutely love white, but find that white amplifies mistakes like crazy! Especially those pesky window trims............................
  19. I like to take a brake from the car before I brake the car!
  20. Thank's but I've watched plenty of the Initial D anime series and have about 13 DVD's so far. I have an idea of exactly how I want it to look with the Mazda RX7 FC3S and The famous Toyota Trueno drifting side by side with a driver in each, wheel at an angle, front wheels at an angle, and smoke from the tires via cotton. As these models have optional headlight's in the pop-up position, I'd like to have working lights on it as well and perhaps a blinking orange light in the exaust tip to simulate the turbo-beltch. I've also viewd lot's of hill-climb and drifting on youtube and know how I want it to look. It's just a question of how do I build the mountain. For the asphalt, I plan on useing sandpaper as it's best simulation for the surface. Use proper grit to get the right scale! Oh and by the way, we never made paper machee's in ANY of my classes......................
  21. Hello. How can I get this beautiful silver finish? I'll need it for when/if I do this Fujimi KS Mercedes and I'll certainly need it if/when I find my Honda Insight toy car.
  22. Well, I think tuner can be applied to anything that's been modified. Although, it is confusing when the average public who hears the term tuner think's of Honda's with the angree Bee syndrome. Shouldn't there be a classification between Muscle Car tuning, "Import Tuner Tuning", and Exotic tuning? The German based outfit I mention alot, K-S, refers to themselves as exotic car tuners, but I doubt their known in the "tuner" world. Please see their web site for more infomation on their killer car's. http://www.koenig-specials.com/homepage%20...%20englisch.htm
  23. Thank you. I was actually refering to takeing a brake away from the model. Not useing the model as a brake away from life. OH well, same thing I guess. I just tend to start screwing things up if I've spent too much time at it durring the day. It's best to do about an hour, take a brake, come back, et'c. Patients is a skill I'm still learning! LOL!
  24. Hello there. When I purchased my metallic gray Mazda RX7 FC3S model, I had purchased it along with Fujimi's Initial D Toyota AE86 Trueno in hopes to build a diorama of a drifting scene. I dont' know how to build a 1/24 scale mountain road hair-pin turn and the project never took off. One day I may purchase two more Initial D kit's and do this, but how would I go about building the diorama of a mountain road hair-pin turn? Does anybody have any sample pictures of a mountain road? Perhaps pictures of the inside of their diorama? Thank you!
