i found this old TYcopro Chaparral body in my HO slot stash.I decided to see if a modern LL chassis would fit and it did after a slight enlargement of the wheel wells. The wing was long gone so I used the spoiler from a junk AFX Porsche and mounted it up with brass wire.i used stick on vinyl numbers and a Sunoco decal on the wing(it was way too monochromatic for me)!
Perhaps one solution is to have all contestants fill out a card with special handling instructions or better yet have the modeler present at the time of judging so if the the judge wants to get a better view the builder could handle the model safely.
Exactly!I am very secure so I do not get upset like some other forum members do.They take critiques as personal attacks when the majority of the time it was only meant to be helpful. In the case of "trolling' comments my policy is; Don't feed the troll!Ignorant and/or stupid comments will be ignored.Although I have never personally been subjected to them. After all this hobby is all about the fun and challenge of building model cars. Some people tend to lose sight of that!
Well you have to understand that I wouldn't post pics of a model if i wan't proud of it.Does it have flaws?Yes but I am pleased with it.Others criticism will not anger me as some of it is valid and can be improved upon on future builds.Other people didn't like the stance or the color but that is a subjective value judgement on their part.I could have lowered it into the weeds but I was going for the highboy look and that is exactly what i achieved! Now i have to determine what my next project will be!
It came out pretty much the way that I wanted it.I like the high stance and i could have had it lowered but i didn't want to!That is the nice thing about models...you can build them any way that you want! Not everyone one will like it but thats life!
Not perfect but i like it!if you are referring to the hood scoop,I had to cut a hole in the hood due to the high-rise intake and carb.I cut the hood scoop out of a '66 Vette, reversed it and cut it open in the front.
