  1. The body work is awesome Jeff, really like the front airdam thats on it.
  2. Rom, it's in the October 2000 issue of Model Cars, the Chevelle is the cover car.
  3. The Tribute car looks excellent Joe, to Scale-Master, yes the canards were banned by the NHRA in the early to mid 70's, F/C & T/F used them for awhile, they were banned because the NHRA deemed them a safety hazard, if a car got crossed-up (which they were & are still proned to do)the NHRA worried about the canards getting stuck in the guard-rail & flipping the car. And they weren't only run on the lower part of the chassis, some F/C's ran them through the rear roof portion of the car, Ron O'Donnells "Big Noise from Illinois" Plymouth 'Cuda ran them there for awhile.
  4. In the article on Mr. Ryder's Chevelle (now remember NONE of this is plastic), it reads "As the crankshaft turns, the pistons move on firing order, and the camshaft and front pulleys rotate". The heads have 98 parts, 62 holes were drilled into each head, it has working valve spring assemblies with spring, keeper,& rocker arms.As the engine turns over you can see the camshaft lobs through the lifter holes, it is one fantastic build!
  5. Because I know you can do it. The article is really good, I'm not into Dirt Track cars or anything really that makes turns (except on to a return road! LOL), in fact I've had the issue since 2000, & just read it a few days ago, I use the issue for reference on detailing the carburated P/M's, theres a great article by Bill Mauldin on "Building a Super Detailed Pro-Mod Engine" on page 10, to me thats the the article I read the most in that issue (besides the contest coverage!)
  6. Now I expect to see you do it Andy!,now Harry might remember this, in the October 2000 issue, there's a article on Charlie Ryder's '65 Chevelle Dirt Track Stock car, it's 100% scratch-built from aluminum & some other things, it has a engine that "works", it doesn't run but the pistons move with the crank & it has working gears in the rear-end & all that neat stuff!, also it's in 1/25th scale!
  7. Yeah, Mike's choices were all great, & the Shane, the Dragster is looking good, the engine is coming out nice!
  8. Agree with Andy, not into imports, but this has me interested in how it turns out, Rom's rngine idea doesn't sound bad either, it would be different.
  9. The detailing on the induction system came out nice Dave,as george53 said, wouldn't have noticed the lack of fittings if you didn't mention it. Nice job, can't wait to see more!
  10. One of the BEST builds I've witnessed, it really looks real!, It turned out beautiful Dave.
  11. When I was watching the coverage of "The Big Go" INDY on ESPN2 today, Mike Dunn told us his # 1 coolest car (over the past few races Mike's been telling us his Top 5 Coolest Cars from NHRA history), # 1 was the Surfers Dragster. It was one of the 1st cars to run 100% Nitro.
  12. Hey!, are trying to copy DoubleD's Nova build, blue with a white top,if you are, nice job!, if your not, nice job!, the Nova looks great Tyrone, the blue/white go together well.Like everything about it!
  13. It seems Chip King can't keep that car off the guardrail, watched Indy on ESPN2 today & they showed Chip taking the Daytona into the wall again, Pro-Mod coverage will be on ESPN2 next Sunday.
  14. Can sure say that Daryl builds some beauties!
  15. Looks good Wayne, like the shade of blue.
  16. The body is coming along nicely Jeff, I think the "Challenging Challenger" would be a nice name to put on it!
  17. The pedals are looking nice Rom, keep it up Buddy!
  18. The chassis is looking awesome!, the firewall (as said above) is great, this is going to be a great build, I can feel it in my bones, er, wait that might just be my arthritis acting up!
  19. Wayne, the "new" '68 'Stang looks really nice, I've seen the 1st one you did (your "Jegs" car),I like this one a lot more, the '41 Willys looks awesome & the Camaro is coming along nice. Looks like I'll be getting a few bodies from Chris.
  20. Yeah, Welcome back Joe, Missed ya "sweetie" , can't wait to see this here car done & more of your builds Joe!
  21. I agree with Rom, Joe, give us another chance, really enjoy your builds (Rom's too, can't leave out one of the Bosses!LOL!).
  22. The 2010 is looking good so far, I'm sure I'll enjoy this build as much as all the others!
  23. Paul, nice builds all, really like your '66 El Camino, looks awesome!
  24. Wow!, that is a short wheelbase, the car, detail, paint & decals all look great, really like this build!
  25. Jeff, what do you use to make your bumpers? Started the bodywork on my '71 Dodge Demon Pro-Extreme today,(cutting out the front wheelwells to move them back a little), & I'm going to have to make a front bumper for it when I get that far.
