  1. Christmas of 1969 I got a Hot Wheels track set, the track is looong gone but I still have the two cars that came in the set and have been collecting Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars ever since. Maybe this up coming year will be the time to build that Tamiya Honda, Austin ??
  2. Your camper is looking great,-the model of your 1:1 truck is pretty cool too. I'm sorry I didn't comment on this before but just saw this for the first time but will be watching it from now on. I understand what you're saying about the hobby shop, the closest well stocked shop is 100 miles for me (one way) so I do most of my shopping on line and sent thru the mail. Here's a couple of sites that might help you out-They have a lot more listed than what you find in most hobby shops--> http://www.evergreenscalemodels.com/ http://www.plastruct.com/ Keep up the good work ! Just a thought-maybe there could be a Community Build for campers and R.V equipment ?
  3. Thanks, Dan and Mark ! I appreciate the nice comments. Dan-Yes, I made the caster wheel from a piece of 1/4" Evergreen rod and a scrap piece of channel stock. There are still a few details to smooth out but I'm happy with how it's coming along. Thanks for looking.
  4. The boat trailer has turned into a model unto it's own I used a sparker wheel from an old Bic lighter for the winch, made the fenders by heating up a 13/16 socket and laying pieces of .060 Evergreen stock over the hot socket to form the radius.
  5. Those Aurora kits are very cool ! Your detail work is outstanding !!!
  6. I didn't keep track of the time/hour wise in the trailer but it was two pots of coffee and a pack of cigarettes
  7. THANKS- I'm really glad you like the boat model. I've wanted to build a simple fishing boat like this for a long time. Since my last post I made the oar clamps and added grab bars from the WWII Jeep Also started fabricating the boat trailer, Thanks for looking in, I'll post more as it goes together.
  8. Being a 1960-It's an AMT/SMP kit. There would be both names on the original box. I've have an old glue bomb 1961 Corvair , got all the replacement parts from Modelhaus -even the rear splash pan. Had to order parts for a 1963 but as near as I can tell they are right for the earlier models also.
  9. Being a 20 year old car from the snow/rust belt it wouldn't hurt to take the negative cable apart at the engine block and wire brush the connections, from the engine block to the frame also. It may not fix the problem but can't hurt any thing either-I've seen bad ground wires do weird things.
  10. Here's another example of the "short arm of the law" http://www.9and10news.com/story/21843071/developing-news-lake-county-officer-accused-of-running-meth-lab
  11. I was born and raised in Detroit, spent the first 32 years of my life there so any of these stories don't surprise me a bit- One of my favorite stories was when a friend of mine went on vacation and some crooks used an electric saw to cut the back out of his garage and took his Harley-the worse part was the crooks plugged their saw into my friends plug to run their saw, They cut his garage open, stole his bike AND used his own electricity to do it. But the funniest thing I've heard in a long time is that the Mayor of Traverse City got busted in Traverse City, Michigan for D.U.I. on Oct.23 of this year, was arrested and charged, then a few weeks later he was re-elected by the people of Traverse City for a third term. Last week he pled guilty and was placed on 1-1/2 years probation. It just so happens to be his second offence BTW. But I have to wonder how does a Mayor of a city like that over see the police and other city business when he's on 1-1/2 years of probation and enforce the laws fairly ? How would it be for the other people that have to do community service to have to pick up garbage on the expressway dressed in those orange jump suits next to the Mayor ? What do you think happened to the police officer that had the nerve to arrest the Mayor ? http://www.theoaklandpress.com/government-and-politics/20131105/traverse-city-mayor-wins-3rd-term-after-guilty-plea-to-dui The tribe has spoken......
  12. Also got two sets of front and rear bumpers for these 1/25 scale '65 Mustang promos And a set of bumpers and grills for this '65 Rambler promo.
  13. Sorry about making multiple posts but I'm having a hard time posting pictures-Don't really know how I got the last one to show up- One thing that is needed to make the Shasta correct is the louvered windows
  14. The trailer is listed on Modelhaus site in the Miscellaneous section for $68.00
  15. YES-the trailer body is one piece, the floor and chassis are a separate piece. The body snaps on and off the chassis like a glove. There is no interior but I am sure an ambitious modeler could build and detail the inside. I took a few pictures of the body and chassis separated but can't post pictures right now for some reason ???
  16. Picked up this 1969 Buick Wildcat off of eBay last week, got it today in the mail 10 minutes after that picture was taken the body/parts were in the stripper pond, looks like they used Testors spray paint with no primer so I expect it to clean up well. My Gramma had a brand new 1969 Wildcat just like this, hers was metallic brown with a tan interior and vinyl roof. 430 4 bbl. She had that car from 1969-74 when she got a new 1974 Buick LeSabre I remember that car like it was yesterday and want to build an exact replica of it.
  17. Received my order today in the mail, besides bumpers/grills and tail lights for some other projects, got one of their Shasta campers
  18. I built some skeleton ribbing out of Plastruct 3/32 "I" beam, added black and red wire for the bow lights and white marker light on the stern . I admit I have been dragging my feet getting this project ready for paint, was waiting for the boat license vinyl stickers from a great guy=Jeff @ G-Force Graphics before any final body/paint could be done to make sure they fit. Here's a set I put on a boat that came out of the Model King 1970 Pontiac Bonneville kit that was built 7 or 8 years ago. The license looks good to me so I will start painting the aluminum boat very soon. Thanks for looking in.
  19. Thank you, Harry and Bob. Got more done but nothing worth photographing.
  20. If anyone is interested, there's one on eBay right now, same boat but a newer issue . http://www.ebay.com/itm/REVELL-Chris-Craft-Sport-Fishing-Boat-Model-Kit-LINDBERG-Chriscraft-Box-Lot-/321253000706?pt=Model_Kit_US&hash=item4acc2bc602
  21. I LOVE eBay !! Besides the fact that I live over 100 miles from a decent hobby shop which equals 200 miles round trip, hours of travel, gas money ect. I don't mind paying shipping and handling charges because it's always cheaper for me than going to a brick and mortar shop. Then this morning as I was looking at a few things on my watch list I noticed a 1967 Pontiac Bonneville brochure with a 'Buy it Now" price. Pushed a few buttons and made the purchase (while drinking coffee, still in my pajamas) Got the usual e-mails from Pay Pal and eBay that a payment has been made and the purchase info. had been sent to the seller. about a half an hour ago the house phone rang which is odd because nobody ever calls on that line any more. It was the eBay seller who informed me that they had gotten the payment and was getting the brochure out to pack for shipment when they noticed it had a crease on it, this lady had sent me a full refund-then she contacted some one else she knows that sells the same type of brochures -SHE bought the same one from them-and is having it sent to me. So I had to ask her who do I pay now ? She said it was her mistake and there will be no charge. Her words here- "Consider it an early Christmas gift" She also said she read thru all of my feed backs and saw that I had 100% rating- and she figured that a good eBay buyer should be treated fair and honest.........hint, hint-It's important to always leave feed back, Good or Bad.
  22. Thanks for the positive comments, I've gotten a little more done since the last post. Made a sub floor to cover the Evergreen strip for the keel . I think it gives a better look being a solid floor also. Mocked up a gas tank under the rear seat-painted the engine a few days ago. It does float- I tried it in the kitchen sink.
  23. I agree with you too, I sent in an order 4 weeks ago for the usual things like bumpers, grills and replacement tail lights but this time I splurged on one of their cool Shasta campers. So- some time in the near future I'll be doing the Happy Dance right along with you !!
  24. YEP-You are right....That's probably why I have a sign too
  25. Awhile back I was talking to a lady when she said she was going to "un-thaw" a package of hamburger for dinner. I replied that I like my burgers cooked -not frozen . She looked sort of glazed thinking about that. But like Jeff Foxworthy says.......Here's yer sign
