I built some skeleton ribbing out of Plastruct 3/32 "I" beam, added black and red wire for the bow lights and white marker light on the stern . I admit I have been dragging my feet getting this project ready for paint, was waiting for the boat license vinyl stickers from a great guy=Jeff @ G-Force Graphics before any final body/paint could be done to make sure they fit. Here's a set I put on a boat that came out of the Model King 1970 Pontiac Bonneville kit that was built 7 or 8 years ago. The license looks good to me so I will start painting the aluminum boat very soon. Thanks for looking in.

I LOVE eBay !! Besides the fact that I live over 100 miles from a decent hobby shop which equals 200 miles round trip, hours of travel, gas money ect. I don't mind paying shipping and handling charges because it's always cheaper for me than going to a brick and mortar shop. Then this morning as I was looking at a few things on my watch list I noticed a 1967 Pontiac Bonneville brochure with a 'Buy it Now" price. Pushed a few buttons and made the purchase (while drinking coffee, still in my pajamas) Got the usual e-mails from Pay Pal and eBay that a payment has been made and the purchase info. had been sent to the seller. about a half an hour ago the house phone rang which is odd because nobody ever calls on that line any more. It was the eBay seller who informed me that they had gotten the payment and was getting the brochure out to pack for shipment when they noticed it had a crease on it, this lady had sent me a full refund-then she contacted some one else she knows that sells the same type of brochures -SHE bought the same one from them-and is having it sent to me. So I had to ask her who do I pay now ? She said it was her mistake and there will be no charge. Her words here- "Consider it an early Christmas gift" She also said she read thru all of my feed backs and saw that I had 100% rating- and she figured that a good eBay buyer should be treated fair and honest.........hint, hint-It's important to always leave feed back, Good or Bad.

Thanks for the positive comments, I've gotten a little more done since the last post. Made a sub floor to cover the Evergreen strip for the keel . I think it gives a better look being a solid floor also. Mocked up a gas tank under the rear seat-painted the engine a few days ago. It does float- I tried it in the kitchen sink.

I agree with you too, I sent in an order 4 weeks ago for the usual things like bumpers, grills and replacement tail lights but this time I splurged on one of their cool Shasta campers. So- some time in the near future I'll be doing the Happy Dance right along with you !!

About 10 years ago I got satellite dish TV installed. While the guy was installing the dish itself out in the back yard I was sitting on the tail gate of his truck watching where and how he installed it when he asked me "So...do you think you'd like to work on satellites ?" Thank you for showing interest in my model, it is an old kit. On the inside of the left (port) hull it has/had raised letters that said : Revell INC. VENICE, CALIF copyright 1953 Being old plastic it does handle liquid welding glue just fine. The out board engine was built completely out of my parts box. As near as I can tell it includes the following parts- The main box was a first aid box from the AMT 911 Dodge van. The side fins were from the custom chrome tree from either the AMT '62 Buick or the '61 Ford Galaxie. The bottom drive is a trans from an AMT 1951 Chevy cut to fit and installed vertically. The rest was made from Evergreen stock. The bubble on the back of the engine that mates to the trans is the half of an air cleaner from an AMT '41 Ford woody, as is the hub cap on top that will be the re-coil for the pull start. I looked at photo etched propellers but decided against it based on the prices. So I went thru my Moms craft beads and found a 6 bladed snow flake , cut every other blade off and sanded it smooth Then when I started making the oars, first I tried bass wood for the handles but it wasn't working out too well, I dug thru the kitchen drawer and found a package of bamboo shish kabob skewers that worked out better-the paddles are balsa. It still needs some more things done but the project is moving ahead.

Last winter I got these two 1/56 scale Revell 42 ft. Chris*Craft Flying Bridge cabin cruisers, one was an old built glue bomb and the other kit is complete and mint. I'm going to call it repurposed instead of scratch built or fabricated. Took the built boat apart, cut the hull down so it would now be a 14' aluminum fishing boat in 1/25 scale Right now it's been taken apart for paint and detailing,

This topic has made me think of a lot of things, good and bad. One of the things is this picture I was born in 1963, my Dad had this '35 Ford before I was born and was one that he never sold. He wanted this picture of his 1935 Ford with his new at the time 1985 Ford Tempo-to show the difference over 50 years. Now that picture is 28 years old.

I LOVE it when the topic of Harleys and loud pipes comes up and as I write this I decided not to quote any ones comment -positive or negative. But I am hoping to give "my side of the story" First of all, WHY would I spend ALOT of money on big bore/high compression heads and pistons just to cork them off at the exhaust ? Then there's the school of thought "Loud Pipes Save Lives"....which does not apply to older people who can't hear very well to begin with or people with super loud stereos, distracted drivers no matter what they are distracted about. And lets face it-there are a lot of people who for many unknown reasons that hate motorcycles. When you are on a machine that weighs perhaps 1/4 of what the vehicles around you do, you learn to pay attention to your surroundings. The last I checked motorcycles have the same rights on the road as any other car or truck. I put over 125 thousand miles on this Harley, rode it from one side of this country to the other and had a few close calls. There have been a few times I have straight legged a car that got too close-kicking a dent in a fender or door to get their attention, I always carry a pocket full of nuts/bolts and ball bearings to drop out of my pocket when people get too close with no re-guard for my "social distance" ....and if that didn't get the point across I had some thing in the other pocket for those times You can see I had dual fish tail straight pipes, NO mufflers-it ran best on 104 octane. As far as being a "P.O.S" ....all I can say is beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

"ONE" of the best cars I have owned was this 1985 Lincoln Town Car I worked at the cemetery during the time I had it, and seeing that it's Halloween -I thought it would be a good time to post the pictures of it.

I have to agree with George on these points. But I also credit my Mom too, she's always been a 'car girl' herself. She only bought me educational toys instead of toy guns and such. I'm stuck somewhere in the middle, I'm 50 yrs. old so I'm caught between the time periods. I too went to Detroit public High School that had a great auto shop teacher, maybe the best over all teacher I've ever had in a school environment. My Dad was a left over typical '50s greaser, over my life time he had dozens of cool cars, trucks and tractors- Think of James Browns song : Pappa don't take no Mess

No plans to restore the pedal car, it has sat in the same place for 12 years now, we put a flat of flowers in it during the summer. That little car has got to have at least 100 miles on it-one city block at a time. Again-Great job on your model !!

THAT-Is one of the coolest things I've seen in awhile ! I like the way the pictures change from before/after-neat effect. I grew up not far from the Packard plant . The Fall of Detroit=Coleman A. Young I read this some where, being born and raised in Detroit in makes a lot of sense to me. In transitioning from a production economy to a service economy, We gave away something we didn't understand the importance of.

I got this 1965 Rambler American 440 off of eBay for $27.00 So far I have taken it apart, polished out the glass with Novus and now the glass looks as good or better than new, the bumpers and grills have been de-burred/de-chromed and ready to get sent out to get re-chromed. When the chrome parts get back I will test fit them before I paint the body a stock color. Then I went thru an early Olds. Toronado phase, Now I have kits of a 1966-1970 Toronado so when I found this mint 1969 Toronado promo I had to have it-
