  1. I saw the one above that I call the 'flat fish' in Monterey, 2002. I am sure you all want to see more of it: This is my favorite part:
  2. i kinda like doing foil. If not I never would have tackled this foil job: Took a while and LOTS of foil but it was fun.
  3. Fire suit? I don't need no stinking fire suit... . Roll bar? I don't...etc etc....
  4. Why is a Corvette model done in metal any more ironic than the fact that 99% of the plastic car kits are models of metal cars?
  5. Their moving platforms are neat!
  6. Oh, yes. Unfortunately the '63 is long gone but I do have this fun machine (shown coming into Corner 5 at Road America): I've had 70,000 miles of fun with this one, all over the U.S. of A.
  7. Guess I did post this in the wrong place, thanks for moving it. I like your approach to the side vents, Len. My thoughts were way too complicated. Concerning the convertible conversion, Robert, it makes sense that the coupe hatch and convertible deck would be the same opening, I hope the model tooling is close. I do notice a little difference around the B-pillar area but not a big deal. I do hear from Ismael at Christmas, he was military modeling for a while but has apparently given that up also. I noticed in his photo account that his son did a snap '63 Corvette, maybe we'll have two great Corvette modelers from that family some day. Thanks,
  8. While waiting for the 2014 Corvette kits (promos now mean kits later, right?), I would like to fill in the gaps in my Corvette display with 2010 - 2013 Grand Sport coupes and convertibles. They would all need the unique Grand Sport front fender vents, nameplate and the 'forked tongue' wheels: Z06 coupes will provide the wide fenders and hood scoop for Grand Sport coupes, but some plastic hacking would be required to make a convertible version out of the Z06 coupe. Has anyone done this conversion? Are any pieces available in resin? Also, wasn't there an article by our lost Corvette expert and friend Ismael Gonzalez on combining the C6 coupe full detail kit and the snap convertible? It would be handy just to see how he did the cutting. Rob? Len? Corvette fans? Any info or suggestions? Thanks,
  9. Welcome to the forum. Always good to hear from a fellow modeler.
  10. The 05-07 were Revell, the 08-11 were manufactured by DoAllSer Company for Ivy Promotions and the 12 & 13 were AMT. Considering the long delay, it may be someone entirely new. I was hoping an industry insider might chime in with the real scoop. Anyone?
  11. Finally!! Got this today from Bob Reck at Bob's Promotional Cars I am announcing today that the 2014 Corvette Coupe (Laguna Blue with separate pace car stickers) and the 2015 Corvette Convertible (New Yellow) promos have now been finalized. They will be available in July and August 2014 respectively. I am anticipating the announcement of the 1957 Corvette very soon, so keep checking over the next several months for that announcement. Regards Bob I assume this means at least some snap kits also. Now we just need the wide body Z06 and the C7.R race car. Wasn't the 1957 Corvette Promo announced once before? Anyone have any more info on any of these?
  12. Great looking car, only 2996 miles. Valuable, but not much fun. My '63, also a great looking car, 53,000 miles. Not as valuable, way more fun.
  13. Then, of course, there are the kits that were actually produced but the car they represented was not: AMT T475 was a 1976 Corvette Convertible annual kit but Chevrolet stopped convertible production in 1975.
  14. ...on my list of projects is accumulating, or building, a model of the major cars in my all-time favorite car movie, American Graffiti. I have acquired some (okay they are d** c**t but they are 1:25 scale). I scored a tough one recently, the Hendrix resin of a chopped '51 Merc to do the Pharaoh's '51 Merc. Yes, many folks think the Pharaoh's car is one of the ugliest sleds ever (I agree) but I gotta do it. The question is, what are the wheel covers and does any kit or caster have them available in 1:25? They look sorta like 53-55 Olds but have that funky 'waffle-weave' or ventilated painted center. Anyone? Thanks,
  15. Well let's see. My current big hobby is modifying 1:24 scale electric trains and playing with them outdoors: Of course, I can put cars in the scenes also: Then there is the 1:32 scale slot car track: How about 1:10 scale Radio Control F1 cars. I am fortunate to have a test team, also. A 9 yr old grandson (shown) and an 8 yr old granddaughter: The above are all actively maintained, as well as an HO indoor train and an experimental magnetically steered 1:24 car and 3D printing of the outdoor railroad signs. Some day I'm just going to have to learn to focus......
  16. Makes me wonder why, makes me want to cry..........
  17. Under my category of: Obscure Kit That Never Should Have Been Made - Above - 2008-02-21 - Reputed to be a Doyusha kit of a 1976 Corvette. Ouch.....
  18. Some are very old pictures of cars that have since been rescued: the Ferrari 250GTO for EXAMPLE. David
  19. I did this 3D printed sign at Shapeways for my outdoor 1:24 scale garden railroad:
  20. Please Revell, quit messing with me and just announce this one:
  21. Great looking build! Glad to see that you did your research and put the air intake grille on the left side of the hood with the bars vertical, not horizontal as the instructions (and mounting pins) indicate. Excellent!
  22. As a matter of fact, Edmunds has 29 photos of 2014 Corvette chassis. Click HERE. If we ever get a kit to build, these will be a big help.....
  23. Here are the actual colors on the chassis of a 2014 Corvette.Note that the rocker panel wraps under the car, this has been true since at least the C5 (1997) Corvette. Anybody have any info on a 2014 Corvette 1:25 plastic kit?
