Just for the record, a PM is a Personal Message, for use off the public forum but still subject to its rules, hosted by the forum and including the same language filter. It is not a "private" message, which has a slight difference. For a Private Message, I use e-mail. Further, this post should have been handled as a Personal Message to the moderator, and not aired for everyone to see. You're just taunting the moderator to make a point to yourself in case this thread is taken down. I'll grant that I and no one else can judge the way your posts have been handled, so no comment there, and you're certainly not going to get other members to rise up in protest.

Congratulations. Very nice. Inspires me to haul out my 1/16 Aurora and Lindberg kits.

Stayed up too late partying, Harry? Or have the turkey tryptophans kept you from waking up?

Once again, I truly appreciate everyone's support, but I won't waste your time with this anymore, so I'll lock it up. -

This is the first link under share. http://public.fotki....edes-benz-.html I only get 2 choices under Share, neither of which says Image URL for use on other sites', nor do I get "More Sharing Options" as told to me by Fotki support : Link to send via email/instant messenger: http://public.fotki....edes-benz-.html Code for a Fotki Journal: [photo id=rqrkbdqrgqrswsrxwwbgtwdbtwwdd type=vi style=1 align=no link=photo] -

NONE of which work with my computer, which I have mentioned. I tried them all, and many more workarounds. I can't upgrade browsers like Firefox or Google Chrome anymore (IE does not support any Mac system) because they do not support my older OS. My problem is $200 for upgrading my OS and doubling memory. Considering that I have been unemployed for a while and my resources are dwindling, that's not a current option. But let's see if I can finally get Fotki to work. My last attempts only showed the url and no image. This is using the process I was told to follow by Fotki support: [photo id=rqrkbdqrgqrswsrxwwbgtwdbtwwdd type=vi style=1 align=no link=photo] Link to send via email/instant messenger: http://public.fotki.com/sjordan47/mcm-album/1955-mercedes-benz-.html Code for a Fotki Journal: [photo id=rqrkbdqrgqrswsrxwwbgtwdbtwwdd type=vi style=1 align=no link=photo] Fotki support said that under the link "Share", I should get a prompt that offers "more sharing options." I don't. -
Fun story - I've lived it before. But what do they "wrap" your knuckles with? Duct tape?

Good for you. That has nothing to do with the problems on my old IMac that I've documented in detail, so I don't understand your point in relation to the questions raised in this thread. -
Awesome, and so accurate. My question is, did you mean to turn the headlights and radiator into the pewter look that I see, or are you still working on a brass finish? And not to be a pest, but don't the seat shells need red stripes?

I just received the following from PB support. I can't get to it immediately, but I'll try these. Billy (Photobucket Customer Support Home) Nov 20 04:06 pm (MST) There is a simple way, but you have to be able to access the site from your computer in order to do so... Apple has stopped supporting Macs on OS 10.4 and older, and we've noticed that older versions of Safari have issues rendering Photobucket. I went on a little hunt and found this article, and a special updated version of Firefox that's specific to your machine. With this version of Firefox you should be able to have full access to the internet, including access to Photobucket again. http://www.floodgap....are/tenfourfox/ http://lowendmac.com...nd-powerpc.html Give those a shot and let me know how it goes, EDIT: alas, these solutions are for older Macs than mine, G3 to G5, and won't work with my OS X Intel core duo 10.4. And the sites warn about screwing things up. -
Spectacular work.

I'm surprised no one has commented on post 103, above. If you don't know that stuff, you don't know real scratchbuilt.

They're the least of the gods that don't like me. They're just a side-effect of thunderous, mighty forces that are working their will on me. There be dragons abroad. Venture forth at your peril. -

Fotki test. I have problems with this one, too. Can't figure out how to post Fotki images here. I can upload, but can't paste into a post. This will probably just show as a link. [photo id=rqrkbtfstgtrbkgxwwbgtwdbtwwdd type=vi style=1 align=no link=photo] [photo id=rqrkbdqrgqrswsrxwwbgtwdbtwwdd type=vi style=1 align=no link=photo] Actually, these aren't even links. They come from the "share" option and I have no idea what to do with them. The Fotki tutorials won't open for me. -

As I mentioned before, I'm on iMac Intel Core Duo 10.4.1 and Firefox does not even have their prior version available because it's obsolete and can't be downloaded,; Firefox says that it is discontinued and is not operational anymore. I need to have OS X 10.6 to run the stuff in my first post. In short, I've tried just about everything including talking with Photobucket customer support, and none of the other browsers will install on my computer because my OS is too old. As you'll see in PB's response in my original post, I'm SOL. I'll just have to hang in there until I win the lottery. Thanks to all of you, however, for your suggestions and support. -

I've tried that url before, and tried your link now. The url defaults to the new version and the window goes blank. -

As I said, I CAN'T go with the old version of PB. I can't even get on the site because my screen goes blank when it loads - this happens even after emptying my cache, dumping cookies, quitting Safari and rebooting my computer. -

In my financial situation, I won't be doing any upgrades very soon. And yes, I've tried to revert to older versions of this and that, but they aren't available or don't work with my 10.4.1 system anymore. -
To see scratchbuilding at its best, there are many examples at scalemotorcars.com, where several builders fabricate everything from a variety of materials, includingmaking their own tires. Google the Duesenberg SJ of Louis Chenot for one example (with a working 1/6 engine). http://theoldmotor.com/?p=36336 Here are others in progress at scalemotorcars.com... http://www.scalemoto...ld-journal.html http://www.scalemoto...rcedes-ssk.html http://www.scalemoto...al-mark-ii.html http://www.scalemoto...-lago-t26c.html And, of course Gerald Wingrove is likely the most famous scratchbuilder of all. www.geraldwingrove.com

A bit over 500 - everything I've ever posted here until this week, when I started using the MCM attachment feature. And yes, Mark, I've been having problems with MCM's server and posting today. -

As I mentioned, none of the resources mentioned above will work with my iMac 10.4 - I need 10.5 and above, requiring an upgrade to Snow Leopard (I'm still on Tiger), plus more memory. Safari is the only browser I can use anymore. The Apple Store can't install any of what I need, so I have to go to a recommended aftermarket service, which will cost $200. I can't even get on the Photobucket site to do anything, because while it's loading, the screen always goes to blank white. Fortunately, I can still use the MCM attachment feature to make uploads here - but not on other sites that require a host link. PS BILL - When Firefox upgraded (automatically, and wrote over my old version), I tried to restore the older version, but their site says it's obsolete and not available for download. -
I don't know if anyone else is having this problem, but Photobucket's latest site "improvement" has shut off my access to hundreds of my images - unless I spend about $200 to upgrade my Mac's operating system and memory. I use the Safari browser (but not one of the most recent versions) and can't use any of the browsers listed below. Here's what I got from their Tech Support: Billy (Photobucket Customer Support Home) Nov 20 08:28 am (MST) Indeed, Unfortunately, the new Photobucket is not currently supported in the Opera browser. Photobucket develops for and tests with the following browsers: Chrome (Note that Chrome updates automatically, and often in the background, which can cause occasional problems with the Photobucket site). Firefox 3.6 or later Safari 5.0 or later Internet Explorer 8.0+ (make sure you have Compatibility View disabled in you IE Tool settings) Photobucket will NOT function correctly in Internet Explorer 7 or below. The features and functionality of the Photobucket website may work with other browsers, but Photobucket cannot guarantee compatibility, and the support provided for those browsers may be limited. Photobucket only supports generally available (GA) releases. Beta versions are not supported. Much of the functionality of the Photobucket site requires that your Internet browser also supports JavaScript. I'm afraid this will continue to happen on more and more sites as time goes on. Best of luck on the upgrades, might want to check out some OEM software. Anyways, best of luck.

No apostrophe in its. Should be "its own." Possessive, not a contraction. Hey, you get into a grammatical showdown, you gotta be right.

Insofar as "build" is concerned, I would submit that nonstandard variations are common in jargon across a multitude of special interests, industries and eras, and may not always be found in a dictionary. Within our community, I think "build" is an acceptable noun. For example, trying to "grow" your business or the economy is not a traditional verb, but it has caught on. And is it scratchbuilt, scratch-built or scratch built? Things to ponder about.
