  1. I can't resist. I just can't So far, no one has caught Harry's elbow in the ribs about "I could care less," which means, obviously, that you COULD care less. The phrase is "I COULDN'T care less." Further, you don't build a nascar. NASCAR is an acronym for the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing that uses all caps, and should be an adjective used in a phrase such as "I build NASCAR race cars." Otherwise, you're saying, "I build the National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing." Nanny-nanny-boo-boo. As I said, I couldn't resist.
  2. What confuses me is that 400 mm in length is over 15 inches, which would indicate a 1/12 kit. A 1/16 version would be somewhere around 10 inches, the size of my 1/16 Gullwings. As a large-scale builder, I have never heard of a 1/12 XJ-S kit. Jeffrey, please keep us informed as to how this comes out.
  3. At an average of about $360, I would have snapped this up in an instant in better days. But I have an untold investment of time and money in researching and preparing to build such a kit. You have no idea - we're talking four figures. I'll be going with a mating of the 1/16 Italeri and Minicraft kits to build to my preferences.
  4. Yes, I've seen it. The best model ever issued on the Gullwing. For what it is it's an amazingly reasonable price, but too many bucks for me.
  5. I thought I'd seen this before - 1/16 by Bandai. Check UK eBay.
  6. Sigh. Why can't Tamiya do a 1/12 Gullwing or 275 GTB?
  7. Now that the election is over... Is that first one at Mitt Romney's table?

Nailed it. Looks like a studio concept drawing, except in 3D. I'd love to see a little paint effects Photoshop work with speed lines.
  9. Regardless of whether it's legit or not, at least the new owner didn't have to pay to change the signs. Sounds like a deal to me. Also sounds like something typical of all types of mom-and-pop businesses, like restaurants - the sort of deal where you see a temporary sign on the door that says "Under New Ownership."
  10. Nice, nice, nice. Looks like you put a subtle wash on the grille mesh.
  11. I always use PayPal. One or two clicks and it's done - and makes the urge to buy much easier, and more secure for me, than having to fill out credit card numbers, etc. I don't like to share card numbers with new parties, and I'm already registered with PayPal, which has satisfactory security backup..
  12. I can't use Photobucket at all anymore. As soon as my album page loads - or even the PB home page, the entire window goes blank. I submitted this to their support 3 days ago and have heard nothing.
  13. My Grandfather had a 1937 Plymouth like this one, gray with a gray corduroy interior. He smoked cigars in it, so it was never a pleasant ride.
  14. I don't know if it's doable, but anyone who's up for crazy kit-bashing and aftermarket stuff might use this Mendeola Manxter for inspiration. Lots of highly detailed pictures here... http://www.fantasyju...Flat 6-Cylinder "This particular Manxter was custom built to a high specification at massive expense, over $65,000, to create a truly unique vehicle. Powered by a liquid-cooled Subaru flat-6 making approximately 320hp, this vehicle weighs less than 2000 pounds and employs a proprietary 4-Speed with a 10" ring gear, and Porsche 930 CV joints. The power to weight ratio is outstanding and the performance nothing short of awesome. Built utilizing a section of a 1973 Volkswagen pan (and titled accordingly), the suspension is fully engineered to provide superb handling thanks to a fully tunable double A-arm and trailing arm suspension with Fox Racing shock absorbers and Eibach springs. The vehicle is equipped with front and rear sway bars with urethane bushings and heim joints to ensure precise handling. American Racing 17” and 18” alloy wheels with modern Dunlop performance low profile tires for maximum grip. Disc brakes with cross drilled rotors at all four corners provide stopping power."

  16. Superb - great paint and excellent engine bay finishes.
  17. A convertible boot on a Corvette?
  18. Just go with a free Photobucket account and be done with all this BS.
  19. Nobody has disputed that in this entire thread of 11 pages (have you read it?). What's your point?
  20. Absolutely terrific, and takes me back to my 1600 GT Sprint. I applaud your bravery in improving a beautiful (and expensive) AutoArt model and making it so much better.
  21. Beautiful job, killer paint.
  22. Well, I'm still using the same "corkscrew" light bulbs after 4 years and they're all still going strong. Haven't had a single one go out.
  23. What kit? What scale?
  24. Nazis should be capitalized, since it is the proper name of a political party, such as Republicans and Democrats.
