  1. What nonsense! What do I believe? I believe I'll have another beer.
  2. I too bought the '65 Coronet for $5. It is kind of a joke to assemble as it really needs to be glued togther. If you put some effort into detailing it can be a decent model. I'm happy with the way it turned out. What are your options? I don't like the car enough to pay big bucks for a vintage version. Like the Rolling Stones sang "You can't always get what you want."
  3. I used Chevy Engine Orange for a body color on a Trans Am Challenger. It was over white and I was pleased with the results, except it dried a little flat and I had to clear coat it.
  4. Any particular model? The SPC1 seems a bit on the pricey side.
  5. What is a good 1/32 electronic analog entry level controller for club racing? I have resistor types for my HO cars, but the times have changed and I want to race 1/32 at a local track.
  6. I like it to! Accuracy is overrated.
  7. I just saw a listing for a track in Detroit Lakes (Raceway Hobbies). Has anyone been there? It's a bit closer than the Twin Cities.
  8. Harry, I picked up a Monza kit off ego-bay. It's partially assemble so I have to take it apart first. My question is about the chassis color. I like the semi-gloss black, but every photo I've seen has the chassis the same color as the body. Is this a Gran Sport thing or would black be correct for the Monza also? Thanks in advance!
  9. Thanks!
  10. Are there any slot car tracks in North Dakota or Minnesota?

    Fujimi 288 GTO

Stunning in yellow! I'm envious of anyone who can paint like that.
  12. Restore it, how many of these are left? You can use clear Evergreen sheet styrene for the windshield. I used it to restore the small windscreen on a Ferrari 250 I picked up at a swap meet.
  13. I vote for Model Express and Scale Dreams.
  14. Interesting, considering that the '59 was one of the ugliest Chevrolets ever made, I'm surprised they could find any left to crash.
  15. The silver car in the above link is one of the cars I saw at Laguna Seca. Notice the billet suspension pieces? All of the upper and lower A-arms were billet along with the hub carriers, they really didn't have that much shine to them. So a gunmetal or dull magnesium paint should do the trick. Everything else was dirty flat black. Hope this helps. I've never seen the street version in person, so I can't make much of a comparsion.
  16. If you can make money doing what you love, go for it! I can't seem to figure out how to do it!
  17. One of the best looking sports cars ever built and you really did it justice. I agree with what you said about a real sports car. Keep up the good work!
  18. Fantastic clip! Your right about most of the shows on Speed, they didn't get any better than Victory by Design. Unfortunatley most race fans won't understand because Dale jr. didn't drive one.
  19. I was at the ALMS race at Laguna Seca last year and had a chance to see the car close up. The guy standing there guarding the car told me there was only moderate changes to the chassis. All the suspension components were lightened up and stiffened up, but the changes were not that noticeable to the untrained eye. I think if you took some material off the suspension pieces and painted them to look like magnesium you should be OK. The exhaust system was modified pretty heavily, so that may be an area of concern. Hope this helps.
  20. Just remember to use a piece of BMF about twice as big as the area you are trying to foil. I know it's a lot of waste, but it's much easier to handle the placement of larger pieces and then trim it up on the bodies. I struggled with BMF for a long time trying to get small pieces to fit and stay in place. Someone on a forum (not sure which one) clued me in. Also make sure your blade is really sharp and practice on a scrap body.
  21. Looks pretty impressive to me, I already have the coupe. I may try my hand at the open car. Like I need to start something else.
  22. Lindberg made one and I think Testors did one also. They are ready available and cheap on e-bay. That's where I got mine.
  23. That's why BMW does so well. They make a family-sized 4 door sedan that's actually fun to drive. There aren't too many American cars that you can load up with Granny and the kids and enjoy the driving experience.
  24. I think kit companies listen to us more than we give them credit for. Way to go Revell
  25. I usually like racy stuff like that, but it doesn't do much for me. Was it a real racer? What series did it run in and most important did it ever win any races?
