I know what they are and I love them. Great job! We need more of this type of kit. Variety is the spice of life. How many Roadrunners can you look at in one lifetime (apparently quite a few)?
  2. I've given up on any sports car that isn't a Ferrari, Porsche, or Japanese.
  3. I think rolling wheels are a leftover from the early days of modeling when model cars were though of as toys, not an expression of your creativity. I also glue my wheels solid, it makes it easier to correct any problems you have with the stance. Nothing worse than a model setting on 3 wheels, and yes I've built my share of cars with one high wheel.
  4. Great idea! All I have to do now is buy a full set of drill bits!
  5. You had to be a pretty good woodworker to be a modeler in those days. I imagine paint was alot cheaper in those days too. All you needed was a pint of wall paint and you could do 50 cars. No need for a spray booth, just a roller
  6. I have the Fujimi 917 stashed away (somewhere). I see they make a transkit for it also. May have to spring for both.
  7. I've looked at the started and incomplete ones, but I read somewhere that replacement parts don't exist unless you buy a 'parts' car. There doesn't seem like there is much of an internet support group for these, most sites seem to be other people selling incomplete or started kits. Unless it's one I've yet to find.
  8. Thanks guys for all your help. I think I will go with the Fujimi kit with the trans kit. I too am lusting after a Pocher kit and I too can't justify the money. For a company that went out of business years ago there are a lot of kits on e-bay. I'm glad to hear the prices are going down, maybe if they go down enough I'll score one.
  9. I wondered why they are so cheap on e-bay. Who make the transkit?
  10. Has anyone built this kit? Any suprises?
  11. I hope you post some pictures. I was planning on buying this one, but the price seems to be a bit high for something with this many problems. I'll be following your posts.
  12. I haven't purchased a kit in a hobby store in years. I can find most everything I need online, granted I have a large stash and don't buy many kits anymore. I can alway beat the price of the LHS, even if it is only by a buck or 2. All I buy at the LHS is paint and I wait until I have a 40% off coupon. Tmes like these you need to save where you can.
  13. It looks a the J.C. Whitney catalog exploded all over that Jeep.
  14. How many Pocher kits have you built?
  15. Where in the world did you find a Pocher Alfa! Those things are really hard to find. I've been looking for one for years. I'm jealous. Nice work anyway, hope you are enjoying the build.
  16. Did they make any improvements to the GTO? That kit sucked big time, the one I did is sitting in the back of my display case hidden from view. Rob-nice Dalek!
  17. Keep us posted on your progress. I'd love to try that kit!
  18. IMHO. NASCAR is really boring, that's why I sleep through them. I call it "My NASCAR nap"
  19. An interesting turn of events, even at 50% he's better than 1/2 of the field today. One of my favorite drivers.
  20. You could always move up to a bigger scale like 1/20 or 1/16!
  21. Thanks to all of you who gave feedback!
  22. I only read what was on the box and it said '64 Savoy.
  23. Yes, it's a resin body on a Lindberg chassis with a hemi
  24. Sometimes I do finish something, Actually it's a '64, I had a senior moment.
  25. I use as large a piece as I can. I find the whole foiling process tedious and want to get it over with quickly. As said before you can use the bigger pieces for smaller areas. Some people may think me wasteful, but foil isn't that expensive. I worked it out and the last sheet cost about 75 cents per car. So foil away.
