A word of caution with the Tamiya TS clear. Test spray it on a part of the decal first, such as the decal copyright wording. If things go bad, then no loss. Just don't want to see decals get ruined and a build put on hold. I've got a T-Bolt with Platt decals to do the Georgia Shaker, and would love to see your build finished. Looks great so far and your interior choice for color looks fantastic.

I agree with Jim0205's thoughts. Excellent step-by-step photo and instuctional how to information. The question now is how many do I get? Many thanks Len and Bill!!

Congratulations for not only receiving your multiple certifications, but also for having the foresight to continue with specialized diesel training. Nothing like having the right credentials when the demand in a new area is just about to take off! Way to go Kevin! -
CrewDawg's Tiny Tuner Turbo Tut

That is an excellent, easy to understand tutorial. Your supporting images top it off. I really like the idea of using two part putty instead of heated/shaped sprue. Many thanks Jimmy. -
I love this Nismo. All of your builds show the attention to detail of a craftsman. Just one question please. The LHS back up light is normal whule the RHS is red. Is this something unique to this car or the JDM?

Your progress looks great so far. Is this going to be a full-on race version with all the decals or street version? I will definitely be watching your progress.

Nice work Steve! Those Gt-R's look wicked fast even at a stand-still.

Thanks Mike, I had to wipe tears from my eyes because I was laughing so hard. It was addictive and I followed every single link on the site. I also emailed the site off to the members of my model club as well! You're right highway, laughter is the best medicine!

Nice clean looking build. Excellent job on the decals. Considering the age of the kit, did you have to clear them first and did you have to use a lot of softener to get them to conform?
-
Looks like a good start, please keep us posted!

Looks like the same old Schumacher. And I was actually hoping that he would have shown a new and 'improved' attitude when he returned this year. Looks like that is not the case. But hey, he got what he deserved, a ten spot penalty on the grid for the next race!

I like this build. A different take on a 'Z' car. I like the white/blue combination. Still thinking about the wheel colour though All-in-all, a very nice build. Keep them coming!

Cool build. Super clean with a flawless paint job. Great combination of different elements.
-
The wheels perfectly match the beautiful curves of the car. The colour really suits this Karmann Ghia. Great interior detailing. All in all, what a beauty!

The attention to detail on the interior is awesome!

Excellent builds back from a time when LeMans / IMSA cars had some beautiful, sexy curves! Well done.

Hobby shops in Toronto?
Bill Eh? replied to CEKPETHO BCE's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
Hobby King and Wheels And Wings are both great stores. Hobby King has better prices, but is very limited in their selection of car models. Wheels and Wings has the most amazing selection of cars that I have ever seen. Two 40' sets of shelves, floor to ceiling, all packed with car/truck/motorcycle kits. You owe it to yourself to check out both of these stores. Other stores you might consider: Panther Hobby - Mississauga Northstar - Mississauga Hornet Hobbies - Toronto John's Photo and Hobby - Toronto It's always good to hook up with a local hobby store that you can rely on. -
Your engine detailing looks awesome. I especially like the tie in with the body colour. An interesting take on how you are replicating carbon fibre. I'll be following this to see how it turn out. Great work so far.

I'm working on the '67 Cyclone right now. Did some research and found out the hood was fiberglass, same as the T-Bolt. I have already painted the underside of the hood body colour. Should it be a fiberglass shade with or without overspray around the edges? I've Googled both '67 Cyclone and '67 Cyclone restoration for images. No luck. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill.

Curt, your rendering of the Cosworth is a jewel all by itself. Thanks for sharing this in-progress!

Another substitute for Silly Putty is called Blu Tack. You just knead it until stretchy and then apply it the area of the part you want masked. You can reuse it as well.

Thanks Curtis. I find that quite often magnesium wheels are called out to be painted semi-gloss black. Your wheels look fantastic. This colouring would be very appropriate for many wheels on Tamiya F1 kits.

The finish on the wheels caught my eye. That's the best looking rendition of a magnesium finish that I've seen. Was it a custom blend of paints?
