  1. Nice work Steve! Those Gt-R's look wicked fast even at a stand-still.
  2. Thanks Mike, I had to wipe tears from my eyes because I was laughing so hard. It was addictive and I followed every single link on the site. I also emailed the site off to the members of my model club as well! You're right highway, laughter is the best medicine!
  3. Nice clean looking build. Excellent job on the decals. Considering the age of the kit, did you have to clear them first and did you have to use a lot of softener to get them to conform?
  4. Looks like a good start, please keep us posted!
  5. Looks like the same old Schumacher. And I was actually hoping that he would have shown a new and 'improved' attitude when he returned this year. Looks like that is not the case. But hey, he got what he deserved, a ten spot penalty on the grid for the next race!
  6. I like this build. A different take on a 'Z' car. I like the white/blue combination. Still thinking about the wheel colour though All-in-all, a very nice build. Keep them coming!
  7. Cool build. Super clean with a flawless paint job. Great combination of different elements.
  8. The wheels perfectly match the beautiful curves of the car. The colour really suits this Karmann Ghia. Great interior detailing. All in all, what a beauty!
  9. The attention to detail on the interior is awesome!
  10. Excellent builds back from a time when LeMans / IMSA cars had some beautiful, sexy curves! Well done.
  11. Hobby King and Wheels And Wings are both great stores. Hobby King has better prices, but is very limited in their selection of car models. Wheels and Wings has the most amazing selection of cars that I have ever seen. Two 40' sets of shelves, floor to ceiling, all packed with car/truck/motorcycle kits. You owe it to yourself to check out both of these stores. Other stores you might consider: Panther Hobby - Mississauga Northstar - Mississauga Hornet Hobbies - Toronto John's Photo and Hobby - Toronto It's always good to hook up with a local hobby store that you can rely on.
  12. Your engine detailing looks awesome. I especially like the tie in with the body colour. An interesting take on how you are replicating carbon fibre. I'll be following this to see how it turn out. Great work so far.
  13. Thanks dwc43. Two pictures showing the underside of the hood painted is good enough for me. Many thanks, now I can move ahead. Well I can move ahead after my last day of teaching for this school year, which is June 29!!
  14. I'm working on the '67 Cyclone right now. Did some research and found out the hood was fiberglass, same as the T-Bolt. I have already painted the underside of the hood body colour. Should it be a fiberglass shade with or without overspray around the edges? I've Googled both '67 Cyclone and '67 Cyclone restoration for images. No luck. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill.
  15. Curt, your rendering of the Cosworth is a jewel all by itself. Thanks for sharing this in-progress!
  16. Another substitute for Silly Putty is called Blu Tack. You just knead it until stretchy and then apply it the area of the part you want masked. You can reuse it as well.
  17. Thanks Curtis. I find that quite often magnesium wheels are called out to be painted semi-gloss black. Your wheels look fantastic. This colouring would be very appropriate for many wheels on Tamiya F1 kits.
  18. The finish on the wheels caught my eye. That's the best looking rendition of a magnesium finish that I've seen. Was it a custom blend of paints?
  19. I'm coming down with Peter aka 'fordmodelaeh'. So what he says goes for me as well!! Counting the days down already. I told my principal last week that she needs to book a supply teacher to cover Friday for me! Can't wait!!
  20. I have an address here, yes! Live here, I question that idea, only because everything is so darned expensive.
  21. A beautiful rail Drew. I always appreciated your "Bench Racer" column. I was amused by your 'rivet counter' qualifier. One of the best things about this forum, unlike others, is the fact that there really aren't that many rivet counter types here. For the most part, models are appreciated just for the fact that they are creative, inspirational works of art. Many thanks for sharing this piece with us.
  22. It looks like a real car photographed on a model base... oh what the heck... model is my final answer!
  23. I'm not sure as to what is supposed to be unusual here. It's a large scale Tamiya Lola kit. They are out of production and the last reissue was quite a while back. But I did find an Entex 1:8 scale McLaren M23 on eBay with a buy it now price of $6,500. No, I didn't add a zero, that is the price this person is hoping for! Deep pockets or what?
  24. I can't remember exactly which one came first. I built a few of the Aurora 1/32 hotrod kits, that were molded in one solid colour. I remember doing the 'Ohio George Montgomery" gasser kit. The one that stands out in my mind was the multi-version dragster kit called the Sizzler. Those were some fun days. I think many of my kits met the same fate as others, blown to pieces on May 24th long weekend.
  25. Looks like a great model with a nice clean build.
