Yes that is me lol. I've been showing my models there for quite awhile.

2.2/auto's are really slow, I mean I've driven one and it's NOTHING compared to my 4.3, trust me lol. If you REALLY want a extreme, go buy the cladding and stick it on your truck. You can do the 98+ front end also, but you would need to change out the core support and other stuff. What I'm saying is stick with the 96, and hold off on the extreme, or atleast till you find a 4.3, because the 2.2 just isn't great.

Ok thanks mike. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to build it stock or a mild custom with wheels and other small things. we'll see.

Crew cab GMC Syclone.
Jared Roach replied to Jared Roach's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I haven't worked on it much, just don't have alot of time and since I had to strip the paint off of the stock Syclone I've been building, I just don't feel like working on them alot at the moment. It will be done eventually. -
I'm not going to argue with you, but EVERYBODY I have talked to, and EVERYBODY on s10 forum and blazer forum call 94-03 s10's 2nd gens. They are the same except for the stuff you mentioned and a couple other little things. Again I ain't picking a fight, but ask pretty much anybody that knows s10's will say there is no 3rd gen.

WOW that came out great! I really like what you did with it, looks awesome! -
My Noma is accually my first car. My dad bought it in 01 used with 16,000kms on it. Since that first day I've always loved it and have always dreamed about making it mine. I love the zq8 trucks, but I'm not a big fan of the extremes, just don't like body kits haha. I would love to have a 02-03 zq8 with 4.3/5 speed(non-extreme), which is REALLY rare, or even a 2door 4.3/5speed blazer 2wd(also REALLY rare lol). Btw grim there isn't really such thing as a 3rd gen s-series. There's the 1st gen, and the 2nd gen, but you can call the 94-97 a 1.5 gen if you wanted. I also read above you wanted to do a 98+ interior upgrade, well it's ALOT easier to just buy a new truck, because you have to change pretty much everything.

I will be dropping in a v8, probably a 350 or something because of money. I love v8 mini trucks, that go fast and are cool. I like bagged trucks, but NO way will mine be bagged, never ever lol. It will be dropped quite a bit, which I might be getting a good deal on a 3/3 drop and 17in American racing rims in the spring. I also want the envoy lights and bumper cover(it was an option on the jimmy's from 99-01), Brazilian s10 tailights(because they look awesome) ss mirrors, zq8 rims, zq8 front and rear sway bars, redo interior in a tan/brown color to match the rest of the truck, and repaint the same color with gloss black on bottom. I also want to debadge the whole thing and remove those stick on pine stripes and the gold vinyl sticker that runs around the while bottom of the truck, but it might be faded so I probaly won't right now. The best thing is that it only has 100,000 KMS But the winters are taking a toll on the cab corners and the bed. I hopefully will have a job by the summer and will start putting some work in this.

ok Thanks guys, I think I will just go with the black to look like undercoating, even though I don't like black floors/chassis's on my models.
-
Nice, is it a 2.2 or 4.3? Mines a 4.3 and it's great(higher up in this thread) Loose the pin stripe, those ugly euro taillights and you've got a cool truck. As for that resin kit, they need to do a 98+ noma front end, and envoy package, because I want to build my truck and I want the envoy lights and bumper, which I will get one day.
-
Thanks Charlie. I'm stuck on what the bottom of the car looks like. Is it primer with overspray, or black? I really Don't know, so if anybody has an idea let me know. Thanks.

Here's an update on the olds, got the jambs all finished and they need some finish filling and sanding, but it's still coming along good. You can see where there is still more work to get it looking good: Thanks for looking.

Nope, atleast what I know of. -
Thanks. I love the look of older cars with newer factory rims on them. I am going to paint them semi gloss black after I finish fixing the sink marks in one of the rims.
-
Cool. I just picked one of these up the other day and it looks awesome! The fit of it is great. I'm build mine as a protouring when I get to it.
-
Yes the Syclone in bed on the doors and tailgate were decals, but the cladding came off before I striped it. I have extra decals from another one because I made a crew cab version. Hopefully this will clean up easily and have some paint on it soon.
-
Since I'm now waiting on the paint to strip on the syclone, I desided to start Revells 02 camaro So I am using the ls1 from the revell 98 trans am, bascily because it's the same engine in this kit and it's already painted in stockish colors, and also because I'm saving the unbuilt ls1 for a protouring project thats coming up after this build. I finished sanding off the copyright info on the chassis and I have to finish the rear wheel wells I cut out the tubs for the new camaro rims. I'm also working on getting that front bumper to look better from the way it came in the box, because it fits pretty bad. Thanks for looking.
-
Thanks guys, but I have to strip the paint off this, because something got on it, and when I was trying to polish it out a again, I burned though the paint. So this one is on hold for a bit while the paint is striping.
-
Sorry but I haven't done anything to this for a couple months now. Mainly because I just don't have alot of time to build and I am always working on other things. Don't worry though, eventually it will get done.
-
Wow thank goodness the forum Is back! But anyways, I got a quick update on this: I finished polishing the paint, I glued the body cladding on, did the decals, and finished the interior. It's now on the chassis for the final time. Still have a bit to do but it's coming along good. Thanks for looking.
-
Very nice! I've acually have had a plan to get one of these and do a similer treatment to it, with either a 5.7 or 6.2 hemi. Awesome looking build.

Ok so I got a quick update, started polishing out the paint, but just got the roof done today. I also finsihed the chassis and engine, but it needs a decal or some detail painting on the engine cover thing, because it looks so plain right now. I also started the interior, which still needs some detail painting and I also still have to do the red piping on the seats, which I really don't know how I'm going to do that yet. But anyways, it's coming along good. I still need to get some of the finer scratches out before I completely happy with it. I have to tone down the pan on the transmission, it's a little too weathered if you know what I mean lol. Look for more on this soon, because I hope to have it done just after the new year. Thanks for looking.
