Model Cars Magazine on Youtube?
Jared Roach replied to Mr. Moparman's topic in General Automotive Talk (Trucks and Cars)
I'm pretty sure there is one already, I'm suscribed to it too. I'm not on my computer right now so I can't get a link. -
Wow thanks guys! I might do a little detail to the jambs like a latch or something, but I'm not sure exectly how to do it or if it would fit, cause it's a tight fit!
-
Thanks guys! Batteries are dead in the camera, but these pics show the stance I'm going for on the olds: I also got the interior done, but I will post pics of it when my camera is charged.
-
Thanks! I got it cleared last night, so now I can move on to some other parts of the car.
-
Thanks guys! Lots of trial and error in those jambs, but the came out looking great. I'm thinking about adding a black stripe decal that runs along the side of the body, but I'm not sure yet. Also need to figure out what color to do the engine, might just do it in silver, don't know for sure though.

So I got a BIG update on the olds. Lately I haven't worked on anything, because I didn't feel like it. But today I desided to pull the olds out again, finish the body work/jambs, and spray it off in some silver! I desided to go for a different plan then orginally, so the interior is now black. I flocked the interior and trunk floors, and will start detailing the interior once I get the paint finished on the body. This is only after a 2 coats of silver, so it needs a couple more and some clear after that. I also painted the wheels in the kit to make them stand out a bit more. I still have a long ways to go, but thought I would mock it up and show you guys where I'm at with it. Thanks for looking.

Cool, being a s-series lover I'm watching I know alot about these trucks, so if you have any questions let me know. As for the frame do a simple c notch with bags and a 4 link, it'll be real easy and look nice. Make sure if you are using the body kit fit it before you lay frame or it might not be sitting on the wheels lol. Too bad amt kitted the concept extreme then the actual production truck, even though it came a little later.

Thanks guys! Thats a real good looking ws6 wheelman. I haven't done much to them to take pics, just doing some filling and re-scribing the panel lines since they arn't that deep. I also sprayed the undersides of the hoods and spoliers in silver, going to clear them later. I got the rims to the t/a painted black too.

I picked this up the other day, and there isn't much flash. I bought it mainly for the trailer but I will be building the car sometime. I have lots of plans for it so I'm not worried about how simple the kit is.
-
Thanks nick. Both cars are going to be silver, and will be built to be a matching pair.

Working on these right now:

Thanks clay, I got a little update. So I pulled the 02 out again, and I am now going to change the color to silver after a paint mess up. I was looking around and found a 98 trans am ws6 That I built awhile back, and was in need for a redo. So I striped that also and now they will be built side by side. Both cars will be silver. I personally like the ws6's styling over the camaro, but I still like both cars. I got some spots that need a little work on both cars after stripping the paint on both, but hopefully they will have some color on them soon. Thanks for looking.

So, Stock escalade w/ trailer, I wanted a tow rig, but had no truck kits I wanted to turn into one so I desided to use the escalde I built awhile back. MPC 76 caprice trailer detailed with paint, bmf and some tamiya clear red on the taillights. I modified the trailer hitch from the caprice to fit the escalade and look more realistic, and used the ball from the monogram f250. I still have somethings to do on the trailer, like the wiring, lisence plate and other misc stuff, so I guess it's a wip still. Next thing I will build is probably something to go on the trailer lol. Thanks for looking.

So, I just finished this up, nothing much except for box stock. I didn't even wire the engine because I just wanted a quick "refresh" build. Duplicolor gm dark teal metallic, and all the badges and marker lights are done in bmf and paint. I didn't use any deals on this build, because I wanted to save them. It was fun, but it isn't close to one of my best builds, far from it. Good kit though but don't think I will build another anytime soon. Thanks for looking.

'99 Silverado Custom
Jared Roach replied to JustBill's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I also think the camber is fine. Almost every truck that is bagged has camber until the bags are aired up, it's no problem. I really want to see what this thing will look like with a sectioning and chop. Leave the camber alone, it's not much compared to some 1:1's! -
Looks good! Very nice job on shaving and smoothing everything, looks really good. I love s-series trucks, for some odd reason lol. I say for paint go with Smokey caramel metallic, just to be different and because I like that color my truck: just a pic of the net This color REALLY pops in the sun, the pics don't show it very well though. If you want the paint code let me know.

4x4 truck post them
Jared Roach replied to jonesmudracing's topic in WIP: Model Trucks: Pickups, Vans, SUVs, Light Commercial
I don't build many 4x4's, because I like slammed street trucks, but here are 2: 1955 cameo in amt scout II 4x4 suspension: AMT 93 ford ranger 4x4, snap kit box stock with the KC light bar added and paint detailing only:
