  1. Nice work! I love the interior details, and the paint looks great. I spent quite a bit of time in police cars (the front seat!), working on MDT and MCT applications early in my career, so I can appreciate the attention to detail. -Art
  2. Thanks, Danno!
  3. Not long ago I picked up a collection of built-up Porsche models, 25 in all, at a garage sale. Then the other day I happened to grab an issue of another model magazine off the shelf and opened up to an article by Andy Kellock where he converted a Revell RSR into an IROC car. It looked like a neat project, so I thought I would try look to see if I had that kit. It turns out that there was one in the collection, so I started tearing it down. Here's what I'm starting with.
  4. Thanks, guys! I appreciate all your comments. I had some issue with paint chunks coming out of the airbrush this weekend, so the body paint didn't get done. I did a little weathering on the chassis and shot some mock up shots instead.
  5. Chris, Every time I check in on your post I see a ton of great accolades. You deserve every one of them. That rolling chassis looks absolutely incredible in those outdoor shots. First class work, buddy! Art
  6. Thanks, Bud! I owe you some photos. I meant to get that done last week. Sorry for the delay...
  7. You're killin' it, Bill! Incredible work, as always. -Art
  8. Thanks, Jason, for the comment. I really like some of the cars on that site. Thanks for looking.
  9. Tony, I totally agree with you. I was planning on a subtle approach. Thanks for the feedback. -Art
  10. Those built up real nice, Mark.
  11. I did the headlights with some BMF. I wasn't too concerned with perfection since they won't be seen, but thought it would be good practice anyway.
  12. Also completed the tires. I had some trouble with the yellow Dunlop tire decals that came with the kit ans messed them up. The kit came with both a white and yellow set, but I really wanted yellow to contrast with the red body so I wasn't keen on using the white ones. Fortunately, I found a set on a Speedline sheet I had in the stash that were perfect.
  13. Thanks Brother! I appreciate it. Once I finish up this little slump buster, it's back to the Willys for sure. I finished up the interior last night.
  14. Ira, your creative process is always fun to watch! Nice work! -Art
  15. Thanks, Henry! It's pretty cool that you are watching from so far away.
  16. Here are the finished chassis painting shots, before weathering. Thanks for looking!
  17. I made some more progress on the chassis. I used Silly Putty on this one and it worked well. I used a little liquid mask too, but I wish I hadn't. I was more trouble than it was worth. I think the Silly Putty on its own would have been fine. Here's the exhaust pipe prepped.
  18. Spectacular work, Bill!
  19. Painted some other bits. My dog ate one of the wheels a while back, so I had to cast another one. > I have to thank Matija, aka Powerplant, for attempting to hook me up with a replacement. Unfortunately, the postal service kept tearing the parts right out of the envelopes, not once but twice. Nevertheless, I sincerely appreciated his kindness for making the effort, and it inspired me to get going on this one, so all was not lost. Thanks, Matija!
  20. Thanks, Ira! Mitchell, I can't take credit for that chassis. That was Luis' fine build. I'll probably go a different direction because I want to experiment a little. I'm still making some progress. The bumpers came with plugs to fill where the plates would go, so I put those in and smoothed them out. Started on the chassis painting...
  21. Love it, Jonathan! Nice job.
  22. Chris, Every step along the way displays incredible craftsmanship and attention to detail. I'm glad to see this coming along so nicely. Let me know when you fire it up! -Art
