  1. Thanks, Mike! Hope you're well.
  2. James, I used Testors Lacquer Flat Clear in my airbrush, but I fogged it in real light.
  3. Here's the chassis with all the parts in it. ...And the tires. The chrome on the wheels was exquisite. They're real chrome, and not at all like kit chrome, and this kit was the first with a new vendor with even better chrome than their previous kits. The only problem was, I had to tone it down to have any sense of realism for this genre. They would have been perfect for a hot rod.
  4. Mike, thanks! I used Liquid Glass on the gauges. I sell it at ScaleProShop.com. It's great for stuff like this. Water soluable, can be thinned with water, and dries crystal clear and strong. Check it out HERE. The tires are rubber, and maybe just a tad too soft. It's hard to reshape them, which they need a little of, but on the plus side, it's easy to make them look like race-worn tires.
  5. Stephen, let me assure you, I did not hand paint that! The gauges had all of that detail molded in, in white plastic. So all I had to do after I sprayed it black was scrape it, albeit with a LOT of magnification, off the molded detail, and paint the tach needle. Then I hit the bezels with a Molotow pen and filled it with Liquid Glass. Thanks for the comments!
  6. Thanks, Gerald! Appreciate it, Dave! I paint inside in the garage, so the weather hasn;t been much of a factor, but we have had a lot of rain. It dried up just in time to paint the body the last couple of days. Pics soon...
  7. Thanks, John! I appreciate you looking in... Here's my next update... The chassis came together easily. All the pieces ready to go in the chassis... The dash had great molded in gauge detail, so I thought I would take a crack at painting it instead of using the decals.
  8. Man, it's coming together fast! Nice job, John, as always. You sure didn't lose your mojo...
  9. It was from what I have come to learn. If this wasn;t an out-of-the-box build, I would have cut them off for this car.
  10. Thanks, James! I suspect the directions were just not updated correctly. All references I found, and there aren't many, seem to indicate the chassis and interior was black, even for the Digard Buick.
  11. Salvino's JR Models has a Box Stock Build off going on FaceBook on their page, where you have to build one of their models out of the box using their decals also. Since, I have been a dealer for Salvino's since they launched, carrying their products at ScaleProShop.com, I thought I would jump in with their latest release. This is the "Bobby Allison Chevrolet Monte Carlo 1982 Race Winner", which is a Digard Gatorade car, similar to the Buick Regal they also campaigned. It's the "flat nose" car, which has not been previously released. This is a Monogram 1/24 kit that was reworked by Salvino's, that was previouly issued with the SS nose, which is also included in the kit. Kits available at ScaleProShop.com. Started with the engine...
  12. Thanks, Mar. Much appreciated! Thanks, man. I've made some improvements and corrections since you've seen it. Still a few things to do, but I didn't want to not show it at Valley Con. Thanks, Curt. Break it out! Thanks, my friend. Hope you're keeping busy at the bench! Thanks, Lee! I'd be honored if you stole (got inspired ) by any ideas here... lol
  13. Nice to see you still making progress on it, Dann! The improvements you've made will be well worth the effort. Nice work all around.
  14. Hey Tim! I haven't been real active on the forum for a while until recently, so I am just now finding this thread. I had to do a Netflix-style binge to get caught up, and so glad I did because this is another great WIP. I love your research and attention to detail, and the ingenuity you bring to the projects. I'm so glad you're back at it. You could've dropped the mic after the last build and no one could blame you. I'll be watching! -Art
  15. Thanks, Stephen! That's nice of you to say. Keep up the good work!
  16. Great build! There's a lot of work in that one, for sure.
  17. Yes, it's just about done. I only have about an hour left to get that thing under glass, but of course, with modeler's ADD, I started something else! ...lol
