  1. Frank thanks for the pic of the kit. I thought it was that one after seeing it on ebay. Love this so far. I also like the lo-pro wheels but it looks great no matter what you decide. Nice save on the paint too!
  2. Spent a great deal of time this past weekend finishing the brakes and making spacers to mount the wheel/brake combo to the crude Jada chassis. Since this isn't going to be a show queen I opted to not un-tub the Jada chassis which would normally house their huge over-sized wheel/tire combo. I was lucky enough that the ride height sits perfectly and just as I had imagined for this build, so all that was needed was spacers to adjust width which I made from aluminum tubing. This allowed me to push my wheel/tire/brake combo out as far as I needed to for the look I was after. I'd be comfortable saying now that this build has officially been "stanced" and I'm thrilled with how it came out. Here are some mock up's and how it'll sit. Its all been taken down already so I can get the chassis painted and continue assembly. Getting close, more to come, and thanks as always for the kind words and encouragement. Brakes are simple but really nice pieces from Mr. Model. Calipers are painted metalizer brass with Tamiya clear yellow. And the mock up's.
  3. Sorry ...but what kit is this exactly? Pic of box?
  4. I'm having no issues with PB. I hated the new version, switched back to "classic" works fine using latest version of Chrome.

    Ice ManX

Thats the meanest Manx I've seen. Nice job! Looks great with those wheels and stance.
  6. Awesome progress and I'm waiting for more. Love this build!
  7. Thanks Tyrone, Mark, and Joe. It's the Micro Mark punch. It comes in very handy and I'm not sure how I got along without it. I should have more updates tomorrow night.
  8. Very cool DC! I'm tuned in ready for more wild goodness!!
  9. Thanks for the info Nick!

    T5000

    Thats beyond awesome! Very original.
  11. If you don't mind me saying... The wheels in your first photos look way better than the GT500 wheels. Look forward to progress.
  12. Does the contest cost anything? Also, do we have to pay admission for both days if we enter the model contest?
  13. Next up was getting these things together. Installed the lug bolt covers and center cap logo's. All that is left is to add the Protech valve stems. Next up is the brakes I borrowed from a Mr. Model wheel set. These will be getting attention next. More to come and thanks for the comments as always.
  14. Was able to do some work on this thing over the past couple weeks. I was able to get the sleeves painted using Testors lacquer gloss black and the wheel centers Tamiya semi-gloss black for a little contrast. I found the Tamiya semi-gloss black is not "pure" black per say and this worked out wonderfully but is very subtle. These are silver plated crimp tubes (size #1 .031) from the craft store. I'm using them for lug bolt covers. Gave them a quick coat of clear to preserve their finish. And here I'm punching out some wheel center cap logo's from a decal sheet.
  15. Thanks Wayne .. I've seen that before on their website. I'll give it a shot. Super job on that scoop! Sorry, forgot to ask ... does this stuff tarnish/rust your metal tools at all like balsafoam does?
  16. Bryan it came out great. Nice job all around. Really like the interior and use of Cranky decals on the build. Thanks for sharing the progress.
  17. I love this build! The body is awesome. Cant wait to see more.
  18. Awesome job so far! Casey did one heck of a job on those wheels. They look great. Keep the updates coming.
  19. Wayne great job and looks amazing! I have always wanted to play around with Renshape but could not find anyone selling it in "hobby" sized pieces at a reasonable cost. Any tips on locating it?
  20. Luke that's an amazing looking Chevelle. Your pictures are fabulous also. Everything is just so right with this! Love it.
  21. Chief I second that. Can you share what printing service printed that wheel? I'll say that may be the finest surface finish I've seen in a 1/24 or 1/25 scale 3D printed part.
  22. I was going to mention that as well. I always order fresh supplies from Alumilite or Smooth On as I've seen quite the dust build up on the small supply at Hobby Lobby and always feared it was sitting forever on the shelf. Also, I would recommend the DVD from Alumilite ... it is an excellent source of information.
  23. Super clean! Excellent build Jason.
  24. Bryan great job so far! Love the interior. 28 pages in a little over a month?! Is that a record?? Lol ...?
  25. Thank you Richard and Chuck for your comments. Well said.
