  1. While that's an amazing looking model, I'm a little surprised at all the praise when you self admittedly did not build it 100% yourself.
  2. This is very interesting. Thanks Doc for starting the thread. Thinking about the tattoos, I'm curious if you couldn't transfer the image to decal paper since they are so delicate and apply it as a decal?
  3. Doc, are they actual dry transfers? As in you need to rub or burnish their frontsides to release the image? If so, I've just begun experimenting with transfers and they are pretty wonderful. You can actually burnish transfers onto unprinted decal paper and transfer the image like a standard decal. Also, Archer has decal backing paper (not actually decal paper) that you can burnish the transfers to. Using this method you treat them just like decals, however when you slide them off the backing paper your sliding just the transfer w/out any blank decal film. This allows you to use transfers as easily as decals but w/out adding any extra thickness.
  4. This is soooo out of control wild! I love it. In for more progress.
  5. Very nice. Wheels look awesome. Cant wait to see more progress.
  6. eBay score... sealed for $20 bucks (I opened it though since I plan on building it!)
  7. I'm not sure about removing if afterwards, but look into Aves apoxie sculpt line.
  8. I've always wanted to go but never have made it. Is there someplace online to look for more information??
  9. Chris, your Camaro is awesome plain and simple. There's been a lot of this "old vs. new" thing going on here on the forum. Dont ever let people like that get to you (and it appears that you dont, which is fantastic). Keep on building what YOU want. And let me say that I always look for new threads by you because your building style, creativity, and execution is always right on (to me). And an internally stock 2JZ can produce TWICE the power output of a typical 502.
  10. David, looks great so far! Nice job!
  11. If I recall a few weeks back on autoblog there was a video interview with the head of SRT and lurking in the background was said to be the concept 'Cuda. I didn't watch it because I didn't have the time but this thread reminded me of it.
  12. Frank, what "club" do you belong to? Where do they meet up? I'm in the Chicago burbs.
  13. http://conleyprecision.com/ There you go.
  14. Looks awesome Derrick! Nice job.
  15. Looks sinister Joe, cant wait to see more.
  16. Really cool Mark. Looks great and I'm really digging the colors.
  17. Interesting. I was told Special Shapes was owned by K&S. Spoke with K&S rep at the Intl IHobby Expo.
  18. Awesome job Chris. One of the nicest Skylines I've seen, especially with an engine. Great job opening the doors also.
  19. Michael looking good. Where are the wheels and tires from?
  20. I agree with much of what is being said here. I too found it ridiculous to see the phrases "master modeler" and "pro built" on ebay. Lacquer paint and flocking is generally not what I think of when I hear those terms being used. I'll second the comments above with saying coining yourself as a master modeler is usually to boost your own ego and nothing more. And normally, yes ... that person is most certainly NOT a "master" of anything. But there's always a "sucker" who overpays for that stuff on ebay.
  21. Good point Wayne but I've seen some convincing versions come in newer kits but they are somewhat scarce and I don't really want to rob kits for these because I would always be looking for more. I've seen some extremely small detailed decals come from slixx so I know it can be done. Here's hoping someone try's their hand at it.
  22. Neil, yes thats exactly what I'm after. I WISH someone could do some high quality versions because I'd be all over them. Last time I asked Keith Marks to do a custom set of decals he told me "no." Just sayin'
  23. Donn, which ones? I've ordered A LOT since their going out of business but didn't see anything for under hood stuff.
