  1. Ira this is so awesome! I'll be watching for more progress. This is wicked cool.
  2. Hi everyone, not sure how many of you are fans of this site (and mag) on Facebook but Gregg posted the terribly sad news about Slixx decals closing up after 19 years. Just wanted to pass this along so folks can order what is left in stock. This is very sad as their decals were simply the best. Curious if anyone out there with the means necessary would be willing to buy the company and / or resources from the owners in order to keep the company and decal producing alive. Someone serious should really look into it. Anyways, just FYI on Slixx.
  3. Very nice build all plastic or not, its stunning! Super nice job!
  4. compresins also has many different sized slicks
  5. Awesome build and awesome pictures. Not much else to say. I'd be mighty proud to have that on my shelf. You really are doing some amazing work Steve. Nice going!
  6. I've waited long enough, I'm buying one also. I like the super mini at 24 inches wide. Time to call!
  7. Dr. Cranky those look amazing! The green one is absolutely stunning. I'm buying those DVD's from Mr. Yost ASAP.
  8. I'm a fan of modelexpress, modelroundup, plastic models (tower), and hlj.com. It just depends what I'm looking for and the pricing their offering.
  9. Luis, I've followed along patiently during your build and the result is well worth the wait. It looks outstanding! Love everything about it and the mild weathering is perfect. Super nice job!
  10. Nevermind, by the sound of this message you've never even been there. Its not a "speed shop" and if you were "tempted" to take your diecasts there to see if you could get them signed you clearly have not been there and have no knowledge of the facility or how to obtain his autograph.
  11. Oh yeah? How do you know he is at his Las Vegas facility very often? Do you work there?
  12. For the record Carroll Shelby does not live in Las Vegas and is rarely at his manufacturing/building facility. He lives in L.A. and will only sign autographs if the item is sent in to him and a donation is made to his charity.
  13. Frank, those look great! Nice job as usual. FYI I've used the Alumilite 'flex' series of varying duro and while they work well they seem to be hit or miss for me. Biggest issue so far is shrinkage of the replicated tires over time. Not sure why this happens as the tires are the same size as the masters for at least a month or two but I have some that have been sitting for up to a year and they are 40% (no joke) smaller than the master now. I'm glad I never put them on a model lol. I had great luck with BJB F70 which is also as thin as what Ryan is talking about with viscosity of 620 and zero shrinkage.
  14. I've used CA and sanded it lightly when fully dry. Works great.
  15. I followed along on your wip thread and all I can say is this build came out awesome! Very nicely done and love all of the fine details as well as the realistic / mild weathering you gave it. Superb job!
  16. I'm going for sure. Always find some great deals there and it's nice running into old modeling friends. Detroit Autorama Friday and Saturday and this on Sunday. Awesome!
  17. Amazing color and finish Dr. Cranky!!
  18. How does one obtain a Dr. Cranky book ??!! Oh my I'd love to have one.
  19. Looks wonderful! Super job as always. Cant wait to see this one finished.
  20. Oooooh Dr. Cranky I love that link to the mesh website. Awesome and thanks!
  21. Frank looks really nice. Is that blue tape behind the spokes? I hate claying multi spoke wheels because its a hassle to clean. May have to try this if thats what it is.
  22. Dave, not sure how much of a hurry you are for this but I'll take a shot at making one the next time I'm at the modeling bench. If it turns out good I'll make some copies.
  23. VERY awesome job, cant wait to see more. Keep the updates coming + thanks for sharing.
  24. A little goes a long way (I use Ultra 4 from price-driscoll also). A quick spray on the mold is all it takes. I never have brushed it. Also, I've poured resin within minutes of spraying the molds and have never had rubbery or un-cured parts. If your casting on glass or using glass on top of your 1 piece flat molds you can give the glass a quick spray as well. This will help your cured resin piece pop from the glass more easily. I give my molds a quick spray after every 2-3 pours.
